I'm curious about clear and green switches would be suitable for what kind of application ? Gaming ?
*
http://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MX_Green
It's basically a blue with stiffer/heavier spring.

Clears are usually modded, it is like a heavier brown.Modded ones are called ergo clears. Lubed and changed with lighter springs.

Both not widely available in the market, occasionally will have some models of keyboard using them. More to be found in the custom keyboard community nowadays.

Just would like to ask if anyone has had GST incurred on their online purchases since implementation i.e. keycap sets/keyboards? If so, care to impart your experience?

Have a few sets from ctrlalt and signature plastics that will touch the RM500 mark (depending on the exchange rate used) which will be delivered, and am concerned that either would have to go to LCCT multiple times or appoint Poslaju several times at RM40-50 bucks a pop.
*
I got a set of GMK red alert came from China, already cross RM500 mark by a margin. But I receive it without any tax, probably because the agent did not state the value of the item. Just my experience for that. Hope you won't get taxed for your ctrlalt and SP set.

So is everyone until they see the price tag and the time and/or effort needed to build it.

Only thing I have to say is this: Custom is endgame, so are you ready for it?
*
If add a set of thick ABS/PBT then really end game hahaha..

When I say custom, it must come with either:
A) BSP/GMK caps
B) SP groupbuy caps in unique colourways (SA>DSA, but accept either).

Anything else is moot and pointless.
Dunno how many times must tell you: Large images pls put spoiler tag. Disruptive for the flow of conversation...
But yeah, caps must have theme or why buy caps at all.
*
Yeah, now I got a GMK set, I can't do anything just yet, no keyboard lol.. Have to wait after exam rclxub.gif

By the way, the B87 has caught my eye; I'm tempted to custom build my keyboard
*
Just FYI, the base price to get a set of B87 unassembled will set you back close to RM700, this is not including switches, all the assembly and soldering work that you have to pay someone to do it.

When you have a custom, I assume you'll not be satisfied with a set of cheap key set, so a set of high quality one may cost you 200-500 or even more.

It will easily go close to 1k, be careful what you wished for biggrin.gif

I know, I've seen that on GH, and also read a little about it. Currently no budget to go aluminum yet. Still immune to that poison. Well, maybe not long tongue.gif

Lots of artisan key caps are very expensive, as they are made in small amount, and handmade. This is alu one, so seems okay for that price.

GONs is considered very famous for custom KOREAN keyboard, well, can't compare with full aluminum like OTD, Kmac and etc. But very well known. Price also very the nice..ekhem.. Considering it have 2 aluminum plate for top and bottom (NerD TKL), the price still seems fine if you willing to pay.
200USD for the case only.

I will just tell the cost. Rm250+

BBV2 USD 25
Shipping USD 15
Donation USD 25

If exclude the donation, the price will be lower, I buy HKP also not cheap.. Some are even mor expensive than the brocap. Nice, I like, looks very well made, definitely live up the hype.

I know all along that the recommended lube for the switch is krytox, but I just came across this.

http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboard...d_lubes/ceefaxh

Elitekeyboard says that krytox isn't that good for switches. Is he wrong about this?

Any comments?
*
I haven't get mine (still stuck at US proxy), but I think it will do really well, as many "pro" use it also. If cheapskate, I remember someone suggested singer oil will do..lol
Krytox is really expensive, and not easy to buy. And some even custom mix it to get a viscousity they want.

Just my 2 cents, wait for some pros to reply pls.
