5 months and still counting for new thread to come. (Last time 1-2months new thread) This MKB club becomes almost near to inactive. Current view count per day is about 300 plus to 400. Veterans all became submarine after some of them fed up with the system. These drastic changes due to no more post counts and lost fever. Some went to fb group and their great knowledge will not able to pass down to newbie.
The competitor of our group; gaming keyboard club is completely tutup kedai after many months no any post.

Why so sad bro? Still glad that this group is alive but myself also long time no come in already (mainly due to the poison )
but was quite sad that the system now dont count post posted in discussion thread
Cherry MX clears are generally more rare then the other common switches (blue, red, brown, black). Maybe less are made since it's not that popular until recently(I'll call that hype).
But one thing to note, stock clears are pretty heavy, most enthusiast favors the modded clears(aka ergo clears with 62g spring). It's pretty tiring to type on heavy switches except you got pretty strong fingers.
Brown is pretty much clears with lighter springs, you won't go wrong with it.
WASD, not cheap by any means, especially the shipping.
yeah, including shipping will be about $200 for the WASD, but it looks really sleek.
so, anyone here going for Classic Beige GMK at this insane exchange rate?
don't forget the insane price too. i'd rather wait patiently for JTK (thick ABS), i am sure bunny is working on it but he rather not release it to clash with photek. another alternative is the enjoyPBT which already have the Class Beige color scheme in stock
I've got a friend who's looking to get his first mkb. He says he likes keys which takes alot of force to press (black keys?) and probably around the price range of 300-350ish. I have a filco brown myself which I did recommend to him but he's not looking over his price range. I did explain to him some of the cherry mx keys and what brands that fall into his price range.
After some research and looking around, I could not find any mkb with black switches in the 300-350 range. My knowledge is only the steelseries 6gv2 which is way off. I could tempt him to get browns which are abundant across most brands. Best brands for his preference which I could recommend are Ducky and CM Storm.
Question: Are there any other shops selling Ducky other than heavyarm? Mostly I'm helping him to look for fullsize/TKL within 300-350 and don't need backlighting.
Cherry extends the MX family with a new Silent Switch with patented* noise reduction. The manufacturer who consistently improves the development of mechanical key switches is now offering the proven and precise MX technology in a significantly quieter version. CHERRY MX SILENT is the no-compromise solution for everyone.
With the new Silent Switches, CHERRY presents a logical development of the MX technology. Thanks to the patented* noise reduction with integrated 2-component tappets, audible clicks are reduced to the acoustic minimum at the top and bottom ends. Instead of using third-party products, CHERRY has integrated a proprietary and innovative solution through which every single switch retains its special characteristics.
MX RGB technology for the highest reliability and individual design The noise-optimized version of the MX RGB switches retains all the properties of previous mechanical switches. The new switches are optimized for use with high-quality SMD LEDs, just like the previous RGB models. Through the transparent casing with scattering surface and lens, an absolutely uniform illumination is achieved. All 16.7 million colors can be displayed when using the corresponding LED with high luminosity. For the new MX generation, CHERRY has chosen for the worldwide unique Gold-Crosspoint technology, which guarantees lasting consistent and lossless input of over 50 million keystrokes.
Popular switching characteristics Initially, CHERRY will release the new Silent Switches in two versions. First, the peripheral specialist starts with the popular MX Red and MX Black switches, that feature a linear actuator. The force required to trigger the switch is 45 (Red) or 60 grams (Black). MX Red and MX Black provide the switching characteristics that are asked by a majority of the users of mechanical keyboards. As with all MX switches, the bounce time is one millisecond, making quick and accurate entries possible.
Corsair as exclusive launch partner The new MX switch also convinces in the Silent version with an outstanding production quality and maximum reliability. Thanks to the patented noise reduction it is truly a no-compromise innovation. Corsair has exclusively secured this technology for the first six months after launch, to introduce the world's first gaming keyboard with the new MX Silent switches at the Gamescom 2015 in Cologne.
that said i still there is still going to be a market for clicky blues. though i'm not a fan myself, i can understand why some people prefer the type writer sound of a blue.
as for brown, though not a clicky sound, you still hear the thudding when pressing against the keyboard when bottoming out (which i am guilty of ). I personally have issue with that. but for office environment or some other where your typing noises may be distracting, the silent version would be a welcome addition
Topre's now finally got competition in the silent switches arena finally

black has the strongest actuation force. It's linear too meaning there is no actuation feedback bump. Many people are uncomfortable with blacks because the force may be too strong, so for long usage typing it gets tiring. Ask your friend to test out red(lightest), blue/brown (medium), and finally black (hardest) before he starts spending.

i personally prefer ducky brand but depends on the features of the keyboard. but seeing as thats his budget, maybe someone who is more familiar can suggest to you the best deal for that range
