linear is quieter.
black is quiet, if your force is mild.
if your fingers are stronk, red is kinda noisy, because of keycaps bottoming sound.
But still, linears are quieter if you factor in the theory above and compared with tactile and clicky switch.
*
I'm little agree with you because YES!!! Linear is quieter than tactile but Brown switch is tactile 'silent' version that can give 'feel' between gaming and typing!
What ever it is, power of buying is up to you, @RageCat

Refer to my siggy, and you will see Ducky, CM and Filco are all inside the list.
Well, according to unwritten rules here.. We buy, we try and we speak.  smile.gif

Filco is the best among all. Ya, Ducky is also a great keyboard as well as CM.
Mainly because the typing feel is the best, the consistency of actuations, actuation feel when it hits bottoms, sounds.  laugh.gif
As simple as that.

The costar stab is good, nice to press on. There is another reason why I like costar, because I can mount warped spacebar keycaps on the stab and it looks balanced.  thumbup.gif

Back to your queries.. You should top up for Filco.

P/S: My daily driver is Filco (>80hours of typing per week)
*

1st impression I see the keyboard(filco mj2) its like other mkb. Actually I like SteelSeries 6Gv2 but the reds is for gaming only and I confuse how to find a Super-duper mkb without lost the feel of membrane. Than I research some reviews on CM Storm Razer and Filco..

Many ppl even oversea recommend Filco because its built quality and feel in typing is SUPERB. Then, CM Storm is for affordable price, nice quality and many choices, only Razer did not have good reviews and some say Razer is lapsap.

After deep thoughts, I buy a 2nd hand Filco MJ2(Beige) from a guy in Ipoh, Perak. He sold to me around RM 350 with post and some extra keycap set. I test it with some online games like Dota 2, CS:GO and BlackShot, I feel the response is fast and accurate. Then I bring it to my practical place to test typing, it is fantastic even I miss click some words because it is TKL but it is a good mkb I ever try for 1st time buy. #FILCOBEST

wow people keep thinking that reds are for gaming  doh.gif
have you type on red for a long period of time ? for you info cherry did not design MX reds for gaming LOL
It is often preferredover tactile switches for gaming. nothing more don't be a stereotype.

Yea, for me, Blue is still the best. The satisfying clicky sound and the tactile feedback.

For fastest response speed, I guess, it's still Red. It's due it has lower actuation point and linear feedback(softer and easily register each press without needing to press each button to the end completely).
*
Hehe..But I at first I don know what best switch that can makes me feel use membrane. So, if I don use MKB (if go CC use membrane KB) at least my 'feel' is not lost

My advice, go test it out yourself on the demo set. I highly believe that once you used mechanical keyboard, you will not like the feel of membrane.
Even saying that, I can still use the chiclet keyboard on laptops and the membranes on uni comp lab just fine. Maybe it's just me, but a keyboard is still a keyboard no matter what. Just that the only difference is whether you bottom out or not and the feedback is a little different.
*
I'm very agree with you because some pipul say it is not the same 'feel' like membrane when I've my 'baby' Filco MJ2 TKL(Beige,Blue MX), totally it is like " antara langit dengan bumi"...

If he just always use QWER, I don't see anything wrong with that as QWER keystrokes are 30g. It's consistent.
30g is good for multi-tap, and most ANSI layout do not have uniform 30g choice.

Note: 30g commonly available in JIS (Japanese layout, not ANSI).

WALAO... TOPRE is favorite for IG.ChuaN and majority are use Cherry MX only him use Topre as main MKB..Wow, I think Filco has minority users, Topre has it too in Gaming!!!

thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Thumbs UP ChuaN, not only make Malaysia proud but make Topre users proud of this !!!

(p.s : Maybe TOPRE is too expensive but if Topre been given a chance to sell in MY market, how they'll promote it(like opening price etc.) because it is 'rare' and little unpopular like buckling spring)

Burning use Realforce TKL. What weight, I don't know.

The other players usually rely on MX Blues.

I use any board to play Doto, as long as mechanical.

35g linears please don't use to play FPS, cuz you'll tap too hard and hurt your fingers, but that might be due for an update since I've retrained my fingers.

MX Blues can also be used to play FPS, but the clickiness is not there so it's kinda no so fun.

Best overall gaming switch is actually 45g Topre with spring loaded spacebar because 45g is too light and you'll accidentally actuate the spacebar when resting.

Caveat: all the above are my personal experience, so YMMV.
*
I think, the clicky sound for me make me feel spirited to play or typing..I love the clicky sound. And I don agree if too light actuation force in Topre because for FPS and DOTO 2, I must have the same actuation force like Blues.

Hi guys. Anyone plan to get the Filco Convertible 2 or already got 1? Looking to sell my Ducky Shine 3 for it. Any kind opinions on this? Yes. I'm anal about cables and cords. Always wanted to keep my desk as clean as possible.

A quick question. I don't know why my Ducky Blue Switch feels a lot stiffer than my friend's Blackwidow which I much prefer, maybe I'm weird?

By the way, would like to thank Mr. Quovadis for his recommendation on Filco. Never been so happy at work with my Ninja Brown. Cheers guys!

Nice choice that quovadis123 recommend Filco to you. I also a Filco user, with my Majestouch 2 TKL and its blues, man. Very responsive even not feel the lightest biggrin.gif
