You can install o-rings (sound dampeners) on your keycaps to reduce the typing sound.
It's greatly reduce the noise. You may try on it first before back to normal keyboard.  thumbup.gif

But, with that, it would mean he's sacrificing the "TRUE FEELING" of a Mechanical Keyboard?

can consider mx linears (red/black) which is going to be quieter than mx tactile/clicky. It can literally be quieter than rubberdome keyboard if you type on it softly, else, it will be loud if you bottom out and smash the keys. biggrin.gif

I think the most silence combinations are "Cherry MX Black + O-Ring Noise Damper for Linear" and "Cherry MX Brown + O-Ring Noise Damper for Tactile".
Cherry MX Blue is very noisy no matter what. LOL.

Thanks! how long does it usually take to ship to here?

Since you don't want to and don't know how to use TaoBao, this alternative solution(mechanicalkeyboards.com) will cost you a lot of money.
Probably, paying double or even more sometime.

Well, it's not that I'm unwilling to learn how to order from Taobao, just wondering if there are any other places closer to home where I could get them instead.

So, I'm gonna go with Taobao after all. Thanks for the advice guys.
*
TaoBao can straight send to your home directly.
From China to Malaysia(your house), RMB 35(RM 20+) only for 1.0KG of goods.

TaoBao Process for Oversea clients(like us in Malaysia):
1.) Select the items you want in TaoBao, and pay it.
2.) Since you're at oversea(Malaysia), it will prompt you to choose a courier service(example, I use 4PX branded courier) and your address & phone number.
3.) The sellers will soon send the items you paid to the warehouse of the courier service you choose. Will take days sometime for all the items to reach.
4.) After the items you paid reached the warehouse, you can send it to Malaysia by paying the RMB 35(RM 20+) for 1.0KG. It will take days to reach.

#Take note, for the first 1.0KG, even if you buy a 0.001KG item, it's still considered as 1KG. So, 0.1KG is RMB 35. 0.5KG is also RMB 35. 0.9KG is also RMB 35.
But, after 1KG, means 1.001KG, it'll count by grams. Means, 1.1KG might be RMB 37, 1.5KG might be RMB 50.

It is because the typing feel with and without plate is much different.  tongue.gif
*
I think it's not due to plate or without plate problem... because there's some switches testing boards do come with plate.
IMHO, you need an actual keyboard to test and know the true feeling/effect. Some random single button tests just can't duplicate the result. smile.gif

As much as i wanna get a Filco, I don't think I will be willing to shell out RM500 for a keyboard.

I'll probably end up with a low end ducky.

Anyone had experiences with Ducky Zeros?
*
Ducky is a very good alternative to Filco.
Quality is high as well. smile.gif
You won't go wrong with Taiwan made keyboards anyway.

Ducky Zero is good enough. It's made in China. Still quality is good.
*
Ducky not made in Taiwan?
Or it's just this Ducky Zero is from China?
Because even the lower end ones, Ducky G2Pro is made in Taiwan.

I think i read somewhere that only the Zero(s) are made in China, other models are made in Taiwan.

Does it matter if it's made in China or Taiwan?

It really depends, if i can save more... i'll go all in for the filco  brows.gif  brows.gif  brows.gif

I am not saying China stuffs are bad, I like to use TaoBao too.
But, given chances, you want to have Taiwan made or China made when you have a choice. smile.gif
Yea, probably Ducky Zero(s) are made in China, but other Ducky models are from Taiwan.

from what i read it only occur mostly on the blue LED instead of the red ones. is it true?

Any recommendation of mkb that is almost the same as k70? i love the looks of k70 LED but seems that if it has high failure rate of the LED then i feel sad already now  cry.gif

Ducky Shine 4 vs Ducky Shine Zero ... both unit difference just the LED?
*
---In General---
Ducky Shine 2, 3, 4, 5(by numbers) are higher-end models. Price ranged from RM 4XX-5XX for standard ones.
Ducky ZERO series are lower-end models. Price ranged from RM 2XX-3XX for standard ones.
Ducky G2Pro is like crazily cheap, rival those china lousy brand price, lower than RM 200. tongue.gif laugh.gif

MX Black is LINEAR.
Topre is Tactile, so, the feeling will be different compared to MX Black.

razer BW (non-led 1st editon/2013 iinm)

Congratulations, you got the common bug from Razer. When you Google it, you'll see.

I had it too last time. So, don't be sad, you're NOT alone.
I sent it to RMA, but, I got a 1-on-1 exchange directly from the shop on the spot. smile.gif
Then, I sold it off as 2nd-hand immediately without opening the seal. LOL.

Solution?
A.) RMA(Warranty).
B.) Open up the switches clean them(some said the double clicking is due to dirt n stains inside the switches), insert them back. But, Void Warranty. You can search for switches cleaning techniques on the internet.
