yes you can if you get 60% china version gh60 which is super solid as well.
*
Oh yeah, i forgot there are tons of 60% alu case on Taobao. Some of them are quite good.

QUOTE(waone567 @ Jul 10 2015, 07:15 AM)
solid+heavy. no fancy light needed.   smile.gif
I realized that I'm not into bling2 stuff after I get the razer. I think we can cut cost on that right? doesnt mind adding some more moolah for aluminium as long as it will last 5+ years.
*
Hahaha, indeed a solid alu keyboard is a bliss to use. Are you considering 60% keyboard? Or you'll only consider a TKL?

If you're looking for a TKL, there are tons of them out there. Just whether you willing to pay or not. If those better korean boards. You'll be looking to pay around 1.5k and above. I think rao2100 have a Kmac LE that he is willing to sell(saw his siggy). Typically they are going for about 400USD and above.

Or you can consider TGR-03 by Yuktsi. Going for RM1.4k assembled.

I don't think alu keyboard can break down just by typing. Usually the switches are mounted on a metal plate, less flex, more solid typing feel.

Haha true. I think I'm going for tkl as I always use the keys for websurfing. I already looked for korean kbd in kbdmania etc. but its hard coz I dont understand korean. If only there are ppl that can help.  sweat.gif I saw TGR-03 by Yuktsi in gh. It is still a prototype or already in production? I'm in Msia only for vacation. going back to europe in 2 months time. dont think that I have enough time  cry.gif might giving rao2100 a ring later.
*
There are a few TGR-03 prototype. The one you saw should be TGR-Jane, which is still in prototyping stage.

If not mistaken there's also one Kmac 2(winkeyless, 84keys) with big god 0168257061 that is willing to let go. Not sure but you can PM him I think.

if you are going back to Europe are you sure you can carry all the alu Case bro ? it weight around 4-5 kg
*
If not mistaken, they don't exceed 3.5kg. Even TGR-03 with brass plate weighs around 3.1kg. Quite a heft to add to the luggage.

Yup, they cost quite a bit more than your budget for a new unit with single colour LED. Full layout usually is more expensive than TKL.

RGB model is close to double your budget for more famous brand, around RM600.

"Spotted @ Heavy Arm Online Gamestore. It's the Cooler Master Full Size Mechanical Keyboard, Trigger. The promotion price is RM 299 (inclusive of GST). Also available at Gadget Zone Sdn Bhd & GTech Solutions."

i got from fb. is it worth if i buy this brand? but that keyboard is silver not pure white.
*
Yeah, that's the promo price right now. It's about there already for one with cherry mx switch and new. Just keep in mind LEDs will die, they might not last that long as you expected.

Silver, silver no good? Silver color good ma, like a silver colour car. Plus you never specify you wanted a white keyboard at all. White keyboard are not that easily available anymore like it used to be a standard colour back in the good old days.

Or else you can spray mod it yourself , make it white. Sure will void warranty but if you insist it must be white. Or hunt for a used Filco or Ducky fullsize and spray it white. Still filco will have no LEDs. Usually a used mkb can be in your budget easily.

Yeah, like Yuktsi said, you can get a decent acrylic custom mkb for below RM1k.
Aluminum mkb really feels different than those plastic or acrylic variation.

QUOTE(a\/enger @ Aug 6 2015, 01:14 PM)
hi guys, i'm thinking of getting my first mkb so hope to get some suggestions here.

has anyone tried mx clear switches?
why is it so hard to get mx clear keyboards?
most of the sites i've found are sold out of it.
i'm thinking of getting a WASD mx clear when it restocks.

it's either that or i'll get a filco mx brown.
*
Cherry MX clears are generally more rare then the other common switches (blue, red, brown, black). Maybe less are made since it's not that popular until recently(I'll call that hype). brows.gif

But one thing to note, stock clears are pretty heavy, most enthusiast favors the modded clears(aka ergo clears with 62g spring). It's pretty tiring to type on heavy switches except you got pretty strong fingers.

Brown is pretty much clears with lighter springs, you won't go wrong with it. biggrin.gif

WASD, not cheap by any means, especially the shipping. sweat.gif
