Is it rba or occ? If rba, try to set the coil lower towards the airhole. Give at least 2-3mm gap. And try to use less cotton when wicking.

Noobie here too, but I will try to help:

1. Did you chain vape on it? My stock atomizer was going on well for 1 week before I changed it to RBA. Allow short intervals in between draws to allow the wick to be properly primed and moist during vaping.
2. Gotta fill up the RBA with cottons. Try closing at least 2 juice flow holes with cottons, and it would seriously help leaking issue. Stock cotton is just rubbish. Rewicking solved my problem.
3. Had that too when I changed to RBA with stock cottons. Changing cottons solved it. I ASSUME that it is because too much liquid flowing into coil-head in a short time that it is actually directly boiling the juice instead of vaporising it.. Changed cotton, and no more nasty popping..

Just a rant...I feel sellers should be more responsible when selling to a beginner. Do not coz you need to hit certain target that you push high powered mods to beginners who most likely don't know what it's all about. I have personally observed a seller who managed to persuade first time buyers (they were barely 20 year old I think) to take 100W mods when most of us don't even vape that high. And when selling them tanks, doesn't even explain the difference between 0.5 & 1.2ohms (subtank mini included OCC).

Vaping is still in its infancy stage & we should encourage more SMOKERS to change to vaping. But to make it worth their while, vaping must not be complicated to discourage beginners. What you will get when pushing all these high powered mods & stop short of warning them about sub-ohm vaping, and once these beginners have a bad experience or 2 when they use these mod, they will say vaping is dangerous, complicating & then go back to smoking.

Sell responsibly, give adequate advise & in the long run, it will benefit your business too.

I dont know about the rest of you but I was quite blur too when I first started. Consulted here & read a bit but still a bit blur. Ohms, volt, wattage, coils, wick etc all like greek for me. Went to a vape shop, seller recommended a Smok M65 with subtank mini (very common setup & luckily he dont have 100w mod at the time  ), explained a bit about the OCC coil, told me not to touch the 0.5 coil at the moment, bought some juices & that was it. I guess that was a reasonable first purchase.

Now, as of today, I can say I understand substantially more (thanks to YouTube) & doing my own wicking on the subtank

bro.. as a beginning, try visit VE... they will do recoiling for u FOC as long as u buy something from them (u need liquids after all)... after a while, when u are really familiar, then only DIY... In fact, one of my friend solely depends on them since day one... As we only need to rebuild the coil every 2-3 weeks, by the time u wanna replenish your liquids, get them to recoil again for u... those days, I even get them to recoil occ coil for me and it's FOC too... The only thing u need to learn is how to change cotton only... easy job if u watch it from youtube...
