adding up from bro vintage guru, do not store in wet and damp places like fridge or toilet. Some place cool and dry would do the job like your drawer. Keep away from direct sunlight.

They will last very very very long time as long as you keep it from abnormal heat, light and air(for splash fragrance)...

Or in simpler words, keep your fragrance in dark and cold place, your fragrance will be fine  smile.gif

Thanks gurus.. want to buy either
Dior Sauvge (EDP) or YSL la nuit de l'homme (only have EDT I think)

Is this 2 okay to use on outdoor/hot weather?

Tried la Nuit De L'Homme again today, very pleasant scent but a bit too sweet for my liking and also required a bit of dress up for this fragrance (not really match with casual Friday hoodie + jeans and sneakers)

Another drawback is now only able to find new formula (heard old formula a lot better).

Now I'm more inclined to Sauvge EDP as already have Jean Paul Ultra (also heard old formula was better) for night.

Also now most fragrance dont have 200ml, 100ml are tad more pricey.
Maybe now people change scent more frequent and demand for 200ml is really not there.

They put limitation on the amount of raw ingredients/oils used in perfumery hence the lackluster performance of today fragrance.

Also to compensate for not being able to use the raw ingredients, some company replace them with synthetic counterpart of the said ingredient making some fragrance smelling synthetic.

Thanks for the insights, also regret if this is the case.

Sephora now doing 20%, after discount Sauvge EDP is like RM300
Is that a good price? can recommend some other place we can get good price?

is that the 60ml bottle or the 100ml? if it's the 100 then go get it since online seller is also selling at that price and it's usually a tester bottle.

Ops sorry my mistake after discount Sauvge EDP price will be as below
100ml =RM370
60ml = RM270

Can't stand YSL LNDL in aircond room, have to wash it off from my wrist

Ps: surprisingly Bad lab shampoos smells like designer's perfume.

Congrats on your purchase. 200ml should last you quite some time since sauvage is a beast performer.

Do you mean CH for men? Try Prada L'Homme if you like an iris scent that's suitable for the office.

Did you guys get taxed for online fragrance purchase below RM500?

If buy from FragranceX, exceed 70USD also no waive on shipment, but I saw they claimed free international shipment if over 70 dollars

Don't feel like want to use the newly bought Sauvage, maybe too many peoples know about it. Think want to use somethings less people using or able to find.

Took me sometime to reply to this, you guys are very helpful hence I don't want to reply negligently.
New to this topic, after 1 month exploring I decided to stick to designers and not to go further.. as I'm only looking for few signature scents which is crowd pleasing.. another reason is I can't spent too much on this hobby (I'm not a sophisticated guy anyway lol)

QUOTE(gl0be.iv @ Sep 11 2019, 03:35 AM)
That's the thing with sauvage. It's too common nowadays. You'll end up smelling like the person next to you and back and front and left and right. Lol.
If you want to be unique, you should look into niche perfumery. Perhaps you can try looking at Amouage offering at ISetan KLCC level 1. Look for reflection man, jubilation man, interlude man, memoir man, lyric man & epic man. See if you like the niche house from the sultan of Oman.

You could also look into Tom Ford Private Blend line. You can try Tobacco Vanille, Tuscan Leather, Fougere D'Argent, Oud Wood. Or try Tom Ford Signature Line such as Grey Vetiver EDP and Black Orchid EDP. You could also try Noir Anthracite if you're feeling adventurous.

You could also discover awesome cheapies such as Lalique Encre Noir & Encre Noire Sport and Bentley Intense for Men.

Or try Mont Blanc Explorer if you like something in the line of Creed Aventus. You could also get the cheaper Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Men or Afnan Supremacy Silver.

Have you tried Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP? Maybe you'll like that one. It's a fantastic date night scent but performance isn't much to be said about. But for the purpose of date, the performance is just nice.

I agree it's challenging but maybe bro yehlai might take a liking to it because he's looking to not smelling like everyone out there.
From the way he described about getting Sauvage EDP being fit for his character I can see that he knows what he wants. He's a guy who have determination and purpose. A person who makes statement. To me Sauvage is a fragrance that makes statement. It's loud it's there. It's in your face and it performs. Going by that line of thinking made me think of those from Amouage 🤭
And since he also mentioned not liking YSL LNDL being cloying and too sweet for him, he might find DHI not to his liking. While DHP is darker and more masculine than DHI, he might find it cloying too due to the iris opening. But who knows. But DHP is also a statement maker to me. Maybe yehlai can try Dior Fahrenheit too 🤔
*
Although Sauvage is too common nowadays but so far peoples I know never use them. So I guess it's still good for me. Have tested almost all designers scents, found that Sauvage EDP is still one of my favorite. Other top contenders I tested are Blue de Chanel (less masculine & lower longevity), Acqua de Gio Perfumo (doesn't impressed), Channel Allure Homme (doesn't impressed), Eau Sauvage (too matured) my best bet is still Sauvage (crowd pleasing + refreshing + longivity) good value for money. Gonna use it together with Armaf for daily (dont really like Armaf, should try Mount Blanc Explorer first before I bought it.).

For night and casuaI I will use JPG and D&G The One (very addicted to this 2 frag). Soon might get YSL LNDL (poor performance last 4 hrs only) and CHHC Prive (both only can use for dates, not that versatile and need slightly dress up but I start to like LNDL). Then. will probably stop right there.

Other fragrance I tried:
Abercrombie First instinct
Chanel Allure homme sport
Dolce The One
Versace Dylan blue
YSL la nuit de l'homme
YSL Y
Aqua de Gio
Acqua de Gio Perfumo
Bvlgari AQVA
John Varvatos Artisan
Jean Paul Le Male
Mr Burberry
Thierry Mugler
Prada l'Homme
Dior Purple Oud
Dior Oud Isaphan

If you want to be adventurous and unique at the same time, try some of the animalic scents like the one I'm wearing today, Musc Tonkin. It was composed to smell like deer musk of the bygone era. Note that, any sort of animal musk is now banned in perfumery.

Interesting, connoisseur stuff

QUOTE(cocooh @ Sep 11 2019, 07:50 AM)
You could try Dior Homme Intense and Givenchy Gentleman EDP.

Both smells niche enough which would differentiate you from Sauvage.

Will give it a try.. thanks for recommendations

Anything in mind that less people using or hard to find cologne?

I 100% agreed with cocooh, try DHP or DHI first before you delve deep into niche scene. Personally, niche cologne is an “acquired taste”, it takes time for your olfactory bulb to learn and get used to those unique/exotic scent. But of course, you will be different from a mass if you wear niche. So, go out there and try out both DHI/DHP, get either one you like, force yourself to wear it even if you don’t really like the smell. This is one of the way to let your sensory to learn and tell your mind that the smell is good. Why DHI/DHP? They both sharing the same DNA but slightly different characteristic. They both smell niche enough, not so challenging but at the same time it could be less appealing and not for everyone.

Then, if you can take DHI/DHP, slowly put your nose into niche, look what MFK, Creed, Diptyque, TFPB can offer you. I don’t really recommend you to try Amouage yet at this stage as it is very challenging to wear and definitely not for everyone. If you can take those mild oud from MFK, Creed or Diptyque, then you may try Amouage. If you can’t even take Creed Royal Oud, forget Amouage as your sensory is not ready for oud/Middle Eastern style yet. But I maybe wrong since olfaction is very subjective.

You're 100% right, I went to tried Purple Oud and you can guess the outcome laugh.gif BTW, the Dior sales personnel at Mid Valley is very helpful she insist I should try a bit Oud on my hand lol

Just tried Jo Malone Oud Bergamot today, my favorite oud so far. Also Creed Aventus finally (Armaf really did a good job). Surprisingly Creed here is selling cheaper than FragranceX.. Ken only sell less than 1.2k for 100ml. Have to keep reminding myself to stick with designer brands don't start it, don't.
