wow version 4 d haha.

my interest in frags went to zero after 2010. since then i have added around 5 new frags LOL.

they r:

- CK Free
- Bulgari Man
- CK One Shock
- YSL Body Kouros
- C&E West Indian Lime
- C&E Sienna

as u can see most r just the regular fresh type frags. I bought the West Indian Lime for myself the rest were gifts.

Im looking for something different but designer. nothing niche. something that I can find in the fragrances dept of Parkson. most importantly something that was released after 2009.

Some of my fav frags r Dior Homme, TdH, Dior Fahrenheit, YSL Rive Gauche PH, Prada Infusion PH, Versace Dreamer n Azzaro Chrome, Chanel Egoiste n YSL Kouros.

thanks

Its been a long time.

I used to be into frags until 2010. stopped at 100 bottles.

Once in a while i still buy a bottle or 2.

2018 the hobby began again. Bought close to 20 bottles in 2 months.

The most unique frag I bought recently is Gucci Guilty Absolute PH. The shower gel is strong enough to last 12 hrs. Haven't found a right time to use the EDP yet.

Best smelling frags recently bought is Dior Homme Cologne 2013.

Most disappointing will be YSL Y EDP and BDC EdT

Been totally out of the frag game n realized I have "vintage" bottles of Dior Homme, Dior Homme Sport 2008, The One EDT and even Rive Gauche Pour Homme in metal can.

Hey bro, do you mind sharing where do you do your majority shopping from? Is it safe to purchase from online store such as Fragrance Avenue , Acharr, Perfume Malaysia...etc
*
Dept stores like Parkson & Isetan mostly. Sephora is a good place too coz the memberships gets u points. SAs at Sephora very generous with free gifts n samples biggrin.gif

I only buy online if the deal is really good. recently bought TdH Parfum set for RM390 (75ml Parfum, 50ml shaving foam n 50ml after shave lotion). seller is Perfume-Malaysia.

My general perception is that dept store stock is newer compared to online sellers. However if the frag manufactured date more than a year old (early 2017 for example) I will still buy if the price is good. I'm also a sucker for gift sets LOL

I bought from FragraceX twice back in December 2018

First was RM 300 - kena tax

Second was RM 420 - kena tax

They use Fedex so sure kena tax.

Took about a week to arrive after payment.

Edit: Just to add on...the frags i bought from FragranceX were all Laliques...the whole Encre Noire range in 100ml bottles for RM420. Stock was quite new...comparable to buying from dept store. However the sprayer on Enre Noire Sport is a bit faulty...i don't get a fine mist like the other 2.

Second RM 300 purchase was for Lalique hommage a l'homme and hommage a l'homme voyageur. Not sure if they were discountinued or limited production but the condition of the box was not great and the stock was at least 6 yrs old. But both smelled alright so no complaints.

If you do get from FragranceX...remember to manage your expectations. For their prices, u gotta be ready for old stock and dented boxes lol. The faulty sprayer I not gonna blame on FX...i have bought bottles from dept store that had faulty sprayers.

Australia is another good place to buy frags. Got my cousin to buy for me a 100ml bottle of Bulgari Aqua Amara and it cost me RM100. Once I realized the prices were so low, i bought a 50ml Bulgari Blu for RM80.

When I received the frags...I realized that the Blu was really old stock...old like 8 yrs old LOL. But it smelled fine and was surprisingly long lasting.

Guys do you think Versace pour homme is more towards younger ppl, mayb below 30?

2) I noticed there is the light blue and another striking blue, any difference?
*
VPH i feel pretty evergreen type of scent...clean and sporty...appeals to most ppl. So I won't put it as a young smell. For our hot weather its perfect.

The color depends on lighting and age. Starts off light blue then turns green after a few yrs. I have one 30ml bottle from 2008 lol

A very similar frag is Chanel Allure Homme Sport. IMHO smells better than VPH. Allure Homme's big brother is Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme.

Thx for the reply bro!
To me VPH is very light and easy. Like a deodorant, can be good but may feel cheap to some. Chanel allure homme sport has significantly more depth. I have been comparing between VPH and eau extreme.

And judging by the price, I will most probably go for VPH from fragranceX. Chanel's price is sooo much higher. Let me know if you have other sites to recommend bro!
*
I find Eau Extreme very hard to wear in Malaysian weather. Its choking rather than refreshing to me. But the performance is good...ppl can smell me a mile away LOL.

VPH type smell has been overplayed. i think every frag house has that VPH type aquatic frag.

An alternative is Acqua Di Gio Profumo. This one I like and its fresh smelling but with a twist to make it stand out.

U could also go down the flowery powdery but fresh route with Prada L'Homme.

FragranceX is the only place I buy online. I stopped back in 2010 then started again in 2018. I still buy off and on when I smell a frag I really like.

haha quite a lot now. Probably around 50. Bought 10 bottles this year so far already, mostly Guerlains from fragx.
*
Habit Rouge EDP or EDT ?

Local Guerlain counters have stopped selling the classic Guerlains.

Hi Guys,

I noticed the fragranceX enable the COD option.

Anyone tried this feature? Do we pay when we get the perfume ordered?
*
FX based in New York...i think the COD feature is not applicable for Malaysia

can you share a bit your recent buy from FragranceX, any hassle?
*
No hassle. was processed quickly. Took not more than 3 days to ship out. Took less than a week to arrive in Malaysia. One time sent to my house. The other time I went to Fedex at Shah Alam to collect it...was on long end of year leave so had a lot of free time.

But do note that my last puchase fr FX was in December 2018. So my memory of the processing n shipping time was fuzzy.

If u do buy fr FX, lower the expectations...

1. Stock will not be new like buying fr Dept store counter
2. Possibility of the frag box to be damaged. I keep my frags in their ori boxes so didn't like it when the box was dented/damaged. Plastic wrap was intact tho.

Also use the discount codes wisely...either free shipping or 15% off.

FX sometimes more expensive than buying fr local dept store. Personally if FX is cheaper by RM50 or less than dept store counter...I will buy locally. I usually use FX to buy frags that I can't get locally.
