I never cared much about fragrance. For the last few years I've been using just one sparingly - Gucci Nobile EdT. I quite like it but never thought much about it. I just found out recently from Googling that this particular fragrance is highly raved about and demands a premium because Gucci has stopped production.

Anyway I've been sampling fragrances in malls recently and today came across the Hermes Terre D'Hermes. Wow. Instant love. I sampled both the EdT and EdP on my arms. One was stronger than the other and became quite cedar woodsy after a while, and I think it was the EdT but can't be sure. The price was quite high though. RM 490+ for the EdT and 500+ for the EdP.

Any good place to get the Hermes fragrances at a cheaper price? I saw a few on shopee, priced at around 300+. Can't really know if it's genuine though right?

TdH is quite a popular scent though I never owned one. Would love to one day  biggrin.gif

As for a cheaper TdH, a quick look at a few of my usual go to places for my fragrance need leads me to TdH Parfum 1, TdH Parfum 2, TdH Parfum 3, TdH Parfum Set & TdH EDT. The gift set is the most valuable one if you ask me. All are legit perfume seller and I've bought from them previously. Happy hunting!  icon_idea.gif

Thanks man. One question - is there any difference between a tester bottle and a retail bottle? The tester bottle still comes unopened and sealed right? So what would be the difference then?

Edit: found out about the difference. Tester bottles may not come in a proper box and may not have a cap.

I see a number of TDH 100ml bottles on shopee and Lazada seeking at RM 200. Is there any way to tell if they are authentic?

Retail bottle will be the one you usually found at the retail counter and is sealed.

Tester usually comes in a plain cardboard box unsealed and some bottle doesn't come with the bottle cap and it is untested despite the name. So you'll be getting the fragrance at full juice
Tester sometimes carry a Not For Sale or Tester label on the bottle/box since it's original purpose was for promotional use.

Both bottles have the same juice with the same quality & performance.

As with every item sold in the market, fake testers are bound to exist. Hence, only purchase items from reputable online seller for ease of mind.

General rule of thumbs, if you're buying for personal use and don't mind the fancy box/bottle without cap then go for tester as it is cheaper compared to the retail box. If you're buying as a gift for someone then go for retail box.

EDIT : Shopee and Lazada are littered with fake testers and frags. If it's too good to be true, then most probably it is fake. Can share with us the link to the deals you found at those site?

Thanks again. I don't usually shop on shopee, but I do get my Lego sets from there since it's quite a bit cheaper than getting from retail stores biggrin.gif. And there are barely any fake Lego sets so it's really easy to spot.

Not the same for frags I suppose.

Here's a couple.

Both seems like legit seller to me, as the price for other frags in their shop are within the ballpark of what you expected for those frags.

Hurm, maybe others can chip in their thoughts. You can try contacting the seller asking if they provide full refund if the items turns out to be fake.

Example of NOT LEGIT seller. Few keypoints to note out :-
1. All of their items priced almost the same
2. Price is too good to be true
3. Chanel fragrance in their lineup. Chanel has a very strict distribution line hence why you don't see chanel frags being sold outside of their boutique.

Ok I bought one from the first link (RM 270, with a RM 20 voucher so RM 250 only) for the TDH EdT. It's now out of stock so looks like he only had one, which further supports the notion that it's genuine. Thanks for your help!

I've heard a lot about Creed -- Aventus and Old Irish Tweed. Wanting to give them a try now, lol. Will need to find some samples.

I was in KLCC today, and there is a Le Labo store there now. Tried their Santal 33 scent and really liked it! I smell sandalwood and leather. Seems to last a long time too.

Price is very high though - RM1000+ for a 100ml bottle if I recall right. Anywhere else to get this? Couldn't find anything online.

Also, what other woody scents do you guys recommend?

Can get it off Selfridges UK.

Other woody scents worth looking into are such as the highly praised Oud Wood or raw sandalwood in TamDao.

List price for Santal 33 at Selfridges online is £184, which is about the same price as retail here. Plus Selfridges doesn't ship perfumes to Malaysia...

Tom Ford Oud Wood? Ooh. Have to try it the next time I'm in KLCC. But price is even higher...?

I see a few sellers on shopee selling for cheap. This one is selling for RM89. Surely fake I suppose?

This one is 399, but appears to be more authentic looking.

Tried Tom Ford's Oud Wood the other day. Smells quite nice, although not as woody as I expected. It's quite very sweet too.

Real bummer then that the scent only lasts like 2-3 hours tops? What a shame for something that retails for like 2k. It lasts no longer than my John Varvatos Artisan Pure.
