QUOTE(Underhill @ Dec 25 2015, 11:19 PM) Is there anyone here who doesn't like his Amouage Epic Man, and selling it cheap? Bro,I sprayed Kouros (tester) at an airport when I was on my way to Moscow or something. Had to wash it out before boarding as not to offend! That oud oil must be nice. Saw some online seller selling 0.2ml decant for USD50. This Amouage Epic man is a monster, just one spray is enough to last for a whole day.. I bought a decant from izam here : https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3730599&hl= Too bad my wife can't stand a strong smell, so managed to used only 3 times.. when i went outstation.. If u want, i can sell this decant to you.. PM me. thanks |

QUOTE(t0n3 @ Jun 15 2019, 02:05 PM) Thanks bro, has been eyeing a full bottle of this TFTV for a long time, last time a few times bought decants. Initially, wanted to buy from fragrancex, but as what gl0be.iv said, i bought online from https://www.luxuryperfumemalaysia.com/ since few forumers here said this shop selling genuine frags.QUOTE(gl0be.iv @ Jun 15 2019, 02:57 PM) wahh nice one TV 100ml. Must've costed 1k+ right? I highly doubt you can last 2 years bro. probably a few months then hands itchy buy more frags RM1,280 for TFTV, RM450 for Cedrat & RM20 for Beach Hut Man vial. Luckily, 1st time buyer got 10% discount, so all in around RM1.6k. I think from Luxuryperfumemalaysia Mostly will use Cedrat, TV only for special occasion, |

QUOTE(cocooh @ Jun 19 2019, 09:58 PM) Got Lavender Extreme from Tom Ford KLCC while Lost Cherry from Selfridges ![]() Need to test LE more often. Both LE and LC dry down has its similarities due to the same tonka being used. Nevertheless, if you like LC, do not hesitate to try LE. QUOTE(t0n3 @ Jun 20 2019, 09:46 AM) Wow, congrats! Does PAPHI better than TF Noir? I heard TF Noir supposed to be very similar to PAPHI My 3rd tester bottle of PAPHI has also just arrived yesterday from luxuryperfumemalaysia.com. Got it for RM330 shipped. The previous tester bottle I got from bestbuyworld in July 2014 was only RM220. A total of RM110 price increase over the past 5 years. Now that I've finally got my PAPHI I might be selling my Tom Ford Noir in the near future. ![]() QUOTE(t0n3 @ Jun 20 2019, 11:48 AM) Apparently people in the states are so lucky. Has anyone tried this?? Seems promising, maybe as good as rirana
https://www.fragrantica.com/news/Malay-Perf...Asia-12532.html QUOTE Perfumes created at the other end of the Earth give the rare possibility of instant olfactory travels. With a good imagination, one can conjure up, by smell, those regions that you have never been before. And this is an argument in favor of the olfactory language - it takes years to learn the language of people inhabiting Greenland, Nigeria or Nepal, but with the help of smell, or the olfactory language, you can immediately communicate from the first minutes of your acquaintance. Two perfumes by the Malaysian brand Malay Perfumery bearing the inscription Malay Le Grand, are created by perfumer Fazzillah Nurdin, and which I received from our editor Elena Knezevich. During our regular meeting at one of the perfume exhibitions, she asked if I was interested to try some Malaysian perfumes? Weird question! From the time I found Kurt Vonnegut's prose, I remembered the words Bokonon says: “Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God,” and so I had two bottles: Mahsuri and Fleur de Rampai. Unusual packaging of fragrances is made by hand, from cardboard covered with jacquard fabric with gold and silver geometric patterns. Each metal label resembles the Soviet badges of 1970-1980 years as if brought from a certain Soviet-Arab conference (just remove the words Eau de Parfum, 30 ml, Natural Vaporisateur.) Typical glass cubic bottles (remember vintage Guerlain perfume testers?) with cubic transparent stoppers. In general, they look like guests from the past. Actually, the brand confirms this: the goal of Malay Perfumery is reviving the memory of the Malaysian past. Using perfumery raw materials typical of local cultural traditions, the brand is trying to revive the fragrant heritage, almost forgotten because of colonial history, the influence of globalism and the spread of modern lifestyles. Malay Perfumery uses primarily local raw materials such as kaffir lime or pandanus grown and processed in traditional ways, so the perfumes are mostly natural, but not as refined as Western brands make it now. There's a certain vintage vibe in the smells. Mahsuri is dedicated to the most famous legend of the Langkawi archipelago, about the beautiful Mahsuri and her tragic death. Her parents moved to Langkawi from Phuket, and she married a local warrior, but her mother-in-law immediately disliked her. Shortly after the birth of her son, the mother-in-law accused Mahsuri of adultery and her father-in-law, the chiftain of Langkawi, sentenced an innocent woman to death for the crime she did not commit. Legend has it that white blood flowed from her wounds as a sign of Mahsuri innocence. Before she died, she cursed the island for her innocent death: "For this injustice, seven generations of the island will live without knowing happiness and prosperity." The story says that soon the Siam warriors devastated the island, burned all the rice in the fields, and killed the chieftain's family. After that, the island's rulers changed frequently: Siamese, British, Malaysian. The curse ended in the 80s when the Malaysian Prime Minister decided to create a tourist paradise on Langkawi islands. The main messages of Mahsuri are female beauty, innocence and virtue, which are replaced by barren land for seven generations of the island. What can I say - jasmine's beauty is powerful, innocence is obvious and camphorous, virtue is depicted by green citrus. The picture is drawn by large strokes, weighty and powerful, without small details and undertints. Everything begins with innocence - it is a camphor strike, if it were not for the green kaffir lime and its leaves, personifying the virtues, one could say that this innocence is quite provocative. After a fresh start, the fragrance gradually becomes floral, and the oriental jasmine is bit like the ocean, with a fruity sweet character, a sharp dirty agarbatti smoke and a faint animal shade. A surprisingly persistent floral perfume with a distinctive floral smoky and balsamic sillage filling the room, a kind of proto-Samsara. However, a slightly burnt shade, resembling burnt rice, is heard only close up - at a distance it is a powerful jasmine with an oriental benzoin accent. The second perfume, Fleur de Rampai, is dedicated to the Bunga Rampai national ceremonial mixture of fresh flowers and leaves, which are created for ceremonies - weddings, engagements, anniversaries, circumcisions etc. These are usually found in open bags or receptacles in which flowers and flower petals, as well as pandanus leaves cut into strips are sprinkled with rose or jasmine water, or another smelling liquid (in the western wedding tradition this is the bridal bouquet, though presented to all guests.) The vessels can be made of cloth, or glass bowls could be used - Bunga Rampai is passed on to all guests of the celebration. Modern couples use ready-made potpourri sprayed with popular perfumes as "Bunga Rampai." The aroma is very strange, for my taste - it starts with a persistent and long lasting burnt oily and greasy chord, similar to coconut oil and roasted nuts, in which the soapy aldehyde accord (with a slightly sharp floral shade of gardenia or hyacinth) gradually appears. It was not easy for me to get used to the initial accord - a completely unfamiliar and unpleasant thing (Fleur de Rampai is much easier to try for the second and third time, I even found something edible in the initial accord). At a distance, a burnt accord is not evident - a light soap-flower cloud remains. The best part for me in the fragrance showed up after half an hour, when I managed to find something familiar. It turned out that a simple accord of patchouli with a woody-bitter aroma contrasted with flower-jasmine sweetness plays the title role in the fragrance. Almost a chypre, judging by the base notes - on the blotter it lasts more than two days. Fleur de Rampai Malay Le Grand Notes: Pandanus, Jasmine, Patchouli. Malay Perfumery perfumes turned out to be very unusual and very unknown - I can only compare this experience with an acquaintance with the national cuisines of the world. If you have ever tried to compare Indian, Finnish and Brazilian sweets, you know how different they are. Even fast food in different countries of the world has its own special features, and these differences are amplified in typical regional dishes. The perfumes are pretty rough by their nature, but perhaps these are exactly what is needed in a hot and humid climate? It seems that in every country there should be such a souvenir tourist brand, each fragrance of which will remind you of everything what happened to you in this or that country. Much better than photos. |
