Started 2016 with these two new addition. Although this is not my first adg bottle. Bought them at a decent price from a fellow forumer. Really want to try something different as currently only having these kind of fresh/sporty kind of fragrances including DHS, MB Individuel, Legend Intense, Davidoff Cool Water. I guess DHI is the only different perfume that I have. And decants such as PAPH, LIDGE, Encre Noir, Play Intense. Didnt like LIDGE or Play Intense at first, but after few times wearing, growing to like it and now I miss the smell after finished the decant. Interested to try Oud or something strong like Amouge(which I never smell) , but not sure where to start. Would be great if you guys have recommendations.

Hey bro! Long time no see. I hope the DHI is still serving you well. IMHO, you can't say you've tried Amouage until you tried Jubilation 25. It's the essence of Amouage. A complex scent with a little bit of everything. Fruity, floral, resins and oud but projection is moderate. If you like strong fragrances then you should try Interlude. Few spritz fill a room. That said, every other one is worth checking out too. Just head down to KLCC Isetan Amouage counter and have a sniff feast. I'm sure you'll find the one that suits your taste.
*
Hi Tonney bro, how are you? I still have 50% left for DHI, thanks to you, its the only perfume that I have that is not citrusy. Will have a look at Amouge Isetan. After reading your experience with fragrance in the previous page, I feel like my perfume journey is starting to be like you. Start with that famous aquatic perfume, then try something heavier like EN & LIDGE, then something different and until now the perfume that you post nowadays, I never even heard about them. Every time I read your post, I need to google the perfume. I hope my taste wont change like you, because I don't have much to spend like you do. LOL. But at the same time, I have this feeling if I cant afford to buy it, at least just the joy to sniff it would be great.

Btw, would you recommend me straight to Amouge? Any other things that I should try first? How does this oud note smell?

Received these two bottles today, blind buy. I'm not good in explaining how does perfumes smells, but what make me write these is I'm quite shock that Zegna Acqua di bergamotto smells exaxtly like PAPH which I tried from Tonney bro before. Read the review, comments in basenote, fragrantica, no one compare this perfume or even mention PAPH in the Acqua di bergamotto review. I can't really compare it now as my PAPH decant finished. cry.gif

Wondering am I right or my nose actually miss PAPH....

Perhaps you got the memory mixed up? PAPH smells like expensive soap. Although I haven't smelled Acqua di Bergamotto, I don't think they are even remotely similar by looking at the notes on fragrantica. BTW, congrats on your hauls bro!
*
I'm quite sure that they smells similar, I know about the expensive soap things, I remember because last time you keep telling me that. You said PAPH is one of a kind, unique smell. I think you need to try it, at least you can assure that my nose is getting better lol.

For notes, both have "citrus, spicy, aromatic". But, longevity, PAPH sure last longer than this Zegna.

Edit : Thanks, hoping for you to sell off some of your niche's frags at an affordable price so I could have my first niche bottle. tongue.gif

I'll check it out if I come across it. My English Fern is selling if you're interested I can let go at special low price just for you. Just PM me.
*
I'm aiming for one of your Serge Lutens, or at least Amouage. sweat.gif

I know it wont come cheap and you might not sell it haha, but if I try, I want something mainstream.

At the same time I also looking for perfume with rose as main notes. Not sure bcs it is hard to test this kind of perfumes. All blind buy.

Latest collection.

I'm really glad that I bought the TM Pure Havane decant. Nowhere to try this perfume, received the decant this morning, it smell so good, nothing like I have so far. Sweet vanilla smells. Can't stop sniffing my hand.

While A*men is not my blind buy, I had try the decant before, didn't like it at first, keeps getting better from time to time, though I still trying to like it now. Receive 1 negative feedback from officemate before. sweat.gif Hopefully as my age grows, my taste also grows, and I will like it later. Same like Encre Noire. At first I like, "LOL who would wear this kind of perfume". Now, whenever I feel like I need to boost my confidence, EN will be my choice of smells.

Congratulations on your new haul, bro! Havane was OK on me. I see that your nose has matured. Keep smelling.
*
Thanks Tonney bro, was thinking to buy each notes(patchouli, tonka bean, nutmeg and etc) like you suggest before, so that I can know exactly how each note smells. Easier for me to detect what I like and what I don't like. But i guess, buying new bottle and trying it is still my priority.

Before, I really like citrusy, fresh smell. Now, I kinda like sweet, vanilla tobacco. Never test oud or rose, might be aiming for that after this.

How much is it? Prefer something around rm200.  sad.gif
Yeah, I understand. Anything with long lasting smells and comparatively lower projection is good enough for me.
*I got a feeling dior is going to be expensive.
*
Dior Sauvage is around RM450ish retails. Dior and Chanel both are on higher price category for a designer perfume. For me it is worth to get them because the quality is on the higher side too. If you're lucky, you can buy tester units or 2nd hand bottle from some of the local people. Just need to always ask.

But if you want to buy something urgently, for RM200, you can pick something else. What kind of notes/smells you're looking for? sporty & citrusy, sweet? And for what occasion you'll use the perfume? Work? Collage?

What's that? A brand? I'm really new to this.
I'm using it for a date, or when going out with friends.  icon_idea.gif
How about if I buy it at airport? Would it be cheaper?
*
Decants means pouring the liquid from the normal bottle of perfume to a smaller 1. So that you can get it at a cheaper price. usually 3ml-30ml. Most of the time, this will be used to test the smells before buying full bottle.

Price at airport wont differ so much with the retail price. You can get it cheaper at discounted counter such as Sasa, Shins or online at perfumemalaysia, M-works perfume avenue or even at garage sales. There are a few reputable seller there. I got mine from a seller that always sells tester units.

For the perfume suggestion, assuming you'll used this 1 perfume for everything, maybe you can try Mont Blanc Legend. It smells pleasant, professional, like-able and I categorized it as an everyday scent. If you want something fresh, something citrusy, try Acqua di Gio, a famous perfume, the one that I started with. I got good feedback from people around me for both of the perfume.

If you want more suggestion, go watch youtube videos(dracdoc, robes08, jeremy fragrance, redolessence), then try it at Sephora or anything.

Sauvage is nice. But the price is premium. For me, Versace Eros for Man is just as good. Price is also reasonable at RM 341 for a EDT 100ml. My 2 cents.
*
Yes Versace is one of the best designer house with a cheaper price range. Eros, Pour Homme, Eau Fraiche are amongs their famous scent. But Eros is a little bit sweet and strong for my taste. Something that remind me of 1 million.

Still on the subject of cheap affordable perfume, I have recently encountered a surprisingly good alternative to the classic Dior Homme. To me DH is an iris masterpiece and this cheapo is longer lasting than the current DH drool.gif

Will update with a pic later today or tomorrow of the perfume once I have secured the bottle  tongue.gif
*
Owned DHI & DHS. Both are very unique because of the iris note in them. DHS(2012 version) with iris still in it is so different compared to other sporty and fresh fragrance. The smell is so rich.

Btw, have you tried the alternative? Or ordered based on review? Zara? Kenzo? Perry Ellis?

Just came in to say hi to all fumeheads. I still have my two tester bottles of DH from bestbuyworld real cheap, for like RM160 with discount codes that time.
*
Almost tagging you just now. How are you bro Tonney? Perfume expansion going well? RM160 for DH tester is really cheap. The cheapest I got from a local seller is RM190. Recommended by you if not mistaken.

Btw, any experience buying from fragrancex/bestbuyworld/strawberry.net lately?

So here is the cheapo alternative with the same vibe as DH...just snapped one from Zara just now at ONLY RM89 !!!  brows.gif
From now on if anyone asks me to recommend a cheap perfume suitable for office and casual use, this would definately be among the top of my list.
Wanted to test their Leather series as well since ppl are saying one of it has the Aventus vibe BUT no stock huhu.

I never bought anything from fragrancex by myself. Had bad experience joining one of forumer here ordering perfume from fragrancex, at last my money went missing with him. And he is quite famous here too.

How many time you bought from fragrancex? Any other online shop selling cheaper than them?

@SMB002 Try this. Sauvage is for me, everyday's scent. Originally selling at least RM350++, you get a bargain if you buy it at RM200 price range. I just bought my second bottle last week for spare.

Thanks for the heads up @AmmoShaf..
For me sauvage is compliment getter, the projection quite beast..
But for now want to settle down with bvlgari aqva..
😊😊
*
No worries man, he is looking for something around 200ish. Imposibble to get a new bottle of Dior or Chanel for that price unless he can find a tester unit. And Sauvage are the most hot selling from Dior right now, even if have tester unit, will be gone in few secs.

Strangely, I didn't get much noticed/compliment using Sauvage from peoples although it is my most frequent scent used. Unlike when I used Gucci guilty black, TM Pure Havane, MB Legend, GA acqua di gio. People will at least ask what I'm wearing. The main reason I still use Sauvage is bcs I myself like to smell it. biggrin.gif

Not as many as these people inside this thread. laugh.gif
Go for it, if you like something lemony/citrusy and fresh, acqua di gio is a must have scent. MB Legend are more to working/office use.

I had dior homme 2011 batch. I still remember the longevity really beast mode. I sprayed it on my next at morning and can still smell it at midnight; totally beast mode. Now, i have 2015 batch, very disappointed with its performance. However, nothing beat the uniqueness of DHI in term of sexiness and its class. It not something you wear for casual. i only wear it when i dress up for important meeting coz it give some kind of confident to me.  tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
Back in 2011, I'm still using Passion Dance by Avon. Lol. I would use like more than 10 spray every-time, and everywhere I go, the place will smells like me. I must annoyed a lot of people back then. biggrin.gif

I don't have or ever use original DH. Only have DHS and DHI in my collection. It's weird though that DHI give you confident when you use it dressing up/meeting. I feel confident and sexy using DHI for dating, it's like I'm seducing her every seconds I have this on me. And I will only use it at night. brows.gif

I'm now looking at L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Eau Fraiche by Issey Miyake. Used it for 2 days last year(my cousin bottle), fell in love but then forget about it.

Now seeing someone selling his bottle, make me wanna have it... But I also forgot how it smells.
