Is mine a vintage formulation too? The cap resembles yours and is not the magnetic type. How is your cap secured to the bottle? Is it a nice tight fit or a bit loose? I got this tester from LuxuryPerfume last month.

I've never seen magnetic cap on Amouage tester bottles. They alI came with non magnetic caps.I could be wrong though...

Fuh. 14years already. Any changes in the frag you notice? Like top note non existence? Langkawi got nice frag? Lol. Last time I went there got not many choice. How much was it?
*
Top notes are intacts. The vintage has more iris(lipsticky smell) than the current so unless you really like iris, you will feel that current formulation is more versatile than than vintage. The vintage is also much more potent than current though.I used only 2 sprays and it will last 10+ hours.

I always buy the fragrance with box.In my experience, perfumes that was stored in the box will most likely retain their top notes.Even my vintage citrus like Eau Sauvage, Monsieur de Givenchy,Armani Eau Pour Homne etc all still have wonderful top notes.Off course over the time they will degrade but as long as you stored them in dark and cool(normal room temperature is enough) place they will be fine. smile.gif

Oh,forget to tell you.I've got this one for RM 280.

Got the big 150ml EdT bottle for RM481. That works out to be RM300.67=(481-30)/150*100 for 100ml bottle.

Dior Fahrenheit current formulation. The famous/infamous gasoline leather woody badboy fragrance of the 80s. Still is unique in today's standard  laugh.gif

the vintage sifu hath checked in. what year is yours bro? I heard that the older formulation gasoline vibe is super strong.
*
1989...Yes the gasoline vibe is much stronger than current. It's also have smoother leather vibe, almost felt like suede leather in this particular version.Good longevity too, easily 12 hours.Other than that, the current is certainly retains the dna of original formulation. smile.gif

Wow that long. Did you bought yours in that exact year or from evil bay? I am yet to make a purchase on evil bay. Currently itching to pull trigger on Arabian Oud offering  tongue.gif  Is your Fahrenheit still good? After that long, any top notes missing?

Back in the days when people actually cared to make perfume that have very good quality. Nowadays it's all reformulation with weak performance all in the name of profit. Or is it because of the new regulations limiting the use of certain raw materials?

Yes the current formulation is good albeit not performing for 12 hours but can easily reach the 8 hours mark which is still good. But 12 hours, that's unheard of in today designer's offering.

*
Top notes is good.I've compared my vintage side by side to latest formulation at sephora and can't tell any difference between both.Okay, maybe the current is a little bit sharper but that's it.

I bought this one sealed from the ebayer from Romania for 80 euros shipped.I guess he didn't really know that the perfumes is vintage hence a modest price tag.If you want to buy vintage, you must know what you're doing or you'll get burn.

This site below is very helpful for identifying vintages thumbup.gif

Hahaha. If they got CAHSEB even better. I might've bought both. Ooo around 10days like that bosskur. Yea it's quite slow to receive from oversea. What did you get from fragX?
Fuh 80 euros for a vintage bottle. If bought elsewhere must've been 200 to 300 euros. Thanks for the site bro. Really helpful for anyone who's looking for vintages.

Good to know that the current one is similar to the older version. I've read that the current reformulation is reformulated to resemble the vintage one. The previous reformulation had it's gasoline vibe toned down.

Are all your collection vintages only?
*
Most of them...I have current release perfumes like Miyako and Eau Parfumee Au the Noir.I also have the likes of LDDM,Timbuktu,Villoresi Uomo,Dzing,Colonia Assoluta,Terre d Hermes which may seems like current release but they're not laugh.gif

Wow so nice you have your own miyako. One day I'll definitely get mine too. You are definitely the vintage guru here bro  notworthy.gif
What's the oldest perfume in your collection bro? Any shalimar from the 1900s? hehehe

*
Yeah,go try Miyako. They sell samples too.

I don't buy splashes so my vintages collection are all from 80's and 90's.Like I said before, you must know what you're doing when buying vintages and when it comes to splashes bottles I don't.Too much risk so I stay away from splashes. smile.gif
