QUOTE(cocooh @ Mar 11 2019, 02:00 PM) Took the bait and purchased Amber Absolute last Sat @ KLCC Congrats!! ![]() At the same time, I've tried Venetian Bergamot on myself and took a sample of Tobacco Vanille + Noir Extreme. Gonna give AA a full wearing soon and test out its highly coveted beast mode. |

QUOTE(cocooh @ Mar 12 2019, 04:19 PM) Here's my 2 cents on Amber Absolute: Thanks for sharing. Did you notice any similarities with Tobacco Oud? I found both are sharing the same DNA, probably came from smoky and incense-y note...? For me AA is gorgeous and very upscale. Scent wise, it is a beast but performance still can’t beat tobacco vanille. The new PB King in my PB collection.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Anyone interested with Venetian Bergamot or Tobacco Vanille ? The former seems to get lesser mention when compared to other PB in TF. Received whatsapp from one of the TF SA, Rive D’Ambre has been restocked, but only 2 bottles are available. Too bad I have max out my allocation for this month, have to wait for next month. To my nose, Rive D’Ambre sharing the same DNA as Venetian Bergamot. But Rive D’Ambre is slightly warmer and intense due to the present of amber accord. |

I trust and had experience dealing with PerfumeBerry and luxuryperfume. You can get the sample vials from them.

QUOTE(cocooh @ Mar 15 2019, 08:22 PM) Can try to walk around Parkson Pavilion, they have Van Cleef which is quite nice to start off with. Van Cleef Ambre Imperial - go and check it out. I have sample and still deciding whether to a get full bottle or not.Else, you can also venture into Diptyque, Maison Francis Kurkdjian and Tom Ford Once u go niche, you might never look back Went to MFK to check out Gentle Fluidity today, both silver and gold edition are nice. Silver edition lean towards male and gold more towards female. Nevertheless both are unisex frags. Gold edition smells very unique as I never smell anything like that before. But Silver a bit generic, to my nose it is something like a mix of Creed GIT+Aventus, nice but not unique, still worth to check out. Currently sampling Grand Soir, they don’t have a sample vial but luckily they have a left over juice from their old tester bottle, approx 1ml left. Asked from SA and she gave it to me. SOTD : Daytime BR540 extrait, nighttime Grand Soir, perfect combi it seems This post has been edited by locozz03: Mar 16 2019, 02:20 AM |

If not mistaken, izam7 had experienced with Rirana, maybe he can share with us.
I think they are the only local Niche brand that has expanded their business to overseas. Really wanna know the nose behind their frags, since quite number of westerners already reviewed their line, including Cubaknow. province86 kindly share your thought on FM Musc Ravageur bro. Is it good? This post has been edited by locozz03: Mar 22 2019, 10:43 AM |

QUOTE(province86 @ Mar 22 2019, 05:35 PM) locozz03 Musc Ravegeur, for me very musculine, spicy musky to be exact. Slightly animalic during the opening. But the dry down is fantastic. Performs above average on my skin. 10hr+ Not for casual and Not a safe frag. But u guys own more challenging frag, this is quite safe for u i guess. haha Eh can't say like that, need to sample first. |

QUOTE(province86 @ Mar 27 2019, 02:02 PM) Habdan, i got incensy caramelized apple, probably from the myrrh. Doesnt project loudly, but has a very good longevity. Quite special and underrated from the house. The overrated from the house, is Layton. I like it, but nothing spectacular. But most people might disagree with me. Haha Wow....PdM lover spotted, I have Herod and Layton from this house, love both very much. Might be getting Habdan decant from you to test out. How about Carlisle? Just ordered sample vial to test out, since Redolessence place it at no 1 spot for his PdM collection. Heard Oajan also not bad.![]() |

QUOTE(province86 @ Mar 27 2019, 04:49 PM) if u love Herod and Layton, u will not go wrong with carlisle. Carlisle to me is combination betweeen those 2 and performs much better. I tried Oajan, i like it too. Maybe my next PdM after Layton EX. Received my Oajan and Carlisle sample vial earlier today. First impression:-Carlisle - Agreed with you, the opening was a reminiscent of Herod+Layton, and to my amateur nose I get more Layton than Herod, which I really love. The drydown is very beautiful, but a little bit boring since it reminds me of YSL LNDL with vanilla added to it (not the same though, but it has LNDL vibe). Full bottle worthy? To me, I need to give more wearing time before decided to purchase. I already have both Herod and Layton, so this one can wait. Oajan - The opening is a bit piercing and sweet. I get sweet honey+sweet Tonka, then benzoin slowly came to the surface after a while. Do I like it....too early to say. Definitely need more wearing time in order to judge it worthiness. Too bad, can't find Layton Ex sample to test out, since it was being hyped too. province86 Share with us your thought on Layton Ex when it's in your possession. |

QUOTE(cocooh @ Mar 29 2019, 02:19 PM) And.... another fougere-ish type of fragrance from Tom Ford Woww....already available here bro? Another fougere indeed after Beau De Jour and Fougere D’Argent....Estee Lauder seems to be milking that trend hard ![]() Lavender Extreme is the new fragrance in the Tom Ford Private Blend collection. Contrastingly fresh and stimulating, Tom Ford surpasses the traditional boundaries of scent with Lavender Extreme. In a blend that is reworked and refracted Lavender appears like it never has been before to transitioning into something irreverently new a thrilling, dramatic creation to be worn at blown out proportions. Lavender is maximized to the extreme reaching new limits, translated from its legendary origin in Provence and into a fresh redefinition of its qualities. * Available in 50ml and 250ml. Where did you guys checkout the pricing? For that kind of price/ml, they really need to be very very good in order to sustain and to be in this game for long time.

QUOTE(requiem318 @ Apr 2 2019, 06:39 PM) hi..i know nothing about perfume, can you guys suggest to me what perfume to get as a beginner.. I know i should go to mall and try it but can u guys give me some idea.. As a beginner, i suggest to start with CK One. It won’t hurt your wallet much, nice scent, mass appealing and decent performance. Don’t expect 4-6 hours of longevity but the projection is quite good though. 2 cents |

QUOTE(requiem318 @ Apr 3 2019, 04:18 PM) Wow so hassle..why not u guys just suggest me perfume around rm200 to 300 that suit when going out dating..want to buy it online bcause i really hate going out shopping..haha Is this gonna be your first perfume ever? If the answer is yes, trust me, you can’t go wrong with CK1. Somemore, the price is at a lower side, so even if you don’t like it, you won’t feel so bad. You can put up for sale in garage section, and I’m pretty sure someone else will catch it. |

QUOTE(cocooh @ Mar 27 2019, 03:22 PM) Looks like Diptyque is launching new fragrance which centered around mint. ![]() Eau de Minthe Notes: Mint, Nutmeg, Rose, Patchouli Got complimentary sample of Diptyque's newly released - Eau De Minthe. Nice, pleasant and fougere-like fresh scent, suitable with our climate condition (hot and humid). I got a lot of mint in the opening, like straight in your face kind of mint scent. For my amateur nose, the opening wasn't so unique, as it has colgate tooth paste or Gillete shaving cream kindda vibe. But somehow it reminds me the opening of Creed Viking, without any prominent spices and saltiness (i don't get colgate/gillete vibe from Viking though.) Then after about half an hour, floral notes started to surface and toned down the strong mint scent a bit, but I still got that colagate vibe a little bit. At certain point during drydown, I got an earthy, sweet and pepperish smell and sudenly reminds me of Dior Sauvage (no joke). Performance is just average I would say with soft projection and moderate longevity. Full bottle worthy? I've been wearing this for 2 days in a row and asked my wife for her opinion too, and I probably pass this one. Lets wait for the new LV released and TF Lavender Extreme to arrive to our shore. |

My new haul, acquired recently.
1) LV Ombre Nomade (Blind Bought this after saw bro chiahau hype about it, and by looking at the notes in Fragr*nt*ca. Love this stuff so much) 2) MFK Grand Soir (Been sampling it for quite sometimes, and finally decided to get a full bottle) 3) Chanel AHEB (Been sampling this for sometime too, good addition to my existing AHSEE and definitely be part of my daily office scent rotation) LV Ombre Nomade - I blind bought this not because of the brand name, but due to the quality of the juice and of cause the smell. Ask the SA to spray on my skin and it is a love at the first sniff. Gorgeous opening I would say. I can tell that the Oud oil used in this juice is top notch and blended very well. Oud done in perfection, where you don't get that skunky and pungency of the natural pure oud oil, resulting a pleasent, smooth and elegent oud fragrance. I got that incensy and sweet benzoin in the opening too which I believe tamped down and rounded off the oud. After a while, I got a sweet and beautiful raspberry, similar to what I got from TF Tuscan Leather, and surprisingly I smelled a hint of leather too. I don't find leather listed as one of the note, but I'm pretty sure there is a leather note in here. Or maybe it is just my brain interpretation of a well blended saffron+oud+birch....I'm not sure. The dry down was something to die for, a sweet floral with a hint of oud and leather scents were reminiscent of TF Tuscan Leather, and Tuscan Leather being one of the frag that I love and appreciate the most. Performance is superb, it projects well around 2-3 hours and longevity easily hit 8 hours on my skin, but I can still smell it the next morning on my shirt. 2 cents |
