Japan is JPY29980 + 7% sales tax - not sure if shipping is FOC tax or not... Should be ± RM1246 in today's rate. Cheaper than US definitely biggrin.gif
*
Japan = ¥29980 (RM1175) + 10% Tax + 6%GST + 3500yen shipping =RM15xx

*Based on previous purchases made through Amazon.jp and mailed via Tenso Japan for 3 day shipping.

QUOTE(MattAces @ Feb 15 2017, 04:10 PM)
RM1824 + zelda RM250 = 2074
Postage + handling fee + bla bla bla + shipment from japan to HK to Malaysia, will be weeks.

I would say Impulse as of now is the most reliable and best option, hoping the free gift is really worth while.
*
PlayAsia = RM 1,824.32 + RM 67.96 (3 Day Shipping) + 10% Tax + 6% GST = RM2206 (+/-)

*Considering Impulse 2nd batch pre-order will arrive by end of March, this is a quicker option. Of course this option DOESN'T come with games.

oh. japan tax is 8%, and if it can directly shipped outside japan w/o relying on proxy/forwarder it won't be counted
*
Weird, I'm checking through my Amazon.jp invoices and I can't seem to find any addition of the 8% consumption tax. http://www.eubusinessinjapan.eu/issues/fin...nsumption-taxes

Either through direct shipping from Amazon.jp or via proxy through Tenso.

Here is a transaction I've made via the Tenso proxy and the Amazon Invoice.

Nintendo shoud stop select maxsoft as their SEA distributor, they wont get success in SEA region with all these overpriced price tag, they already lose the SEA market before the release of the console
*
QUOTE(hafez13 @ Feb 17 2017, 08:32 PM)
agreed, maybe we should have a petition to make official nintendo SEA happen brows.gif
not 75 usd exactly, Shipping costs + Local Distributor Markup + GST + Local Reseller Markup. to the console and the games.
*
"Maxsoft is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nintendo Co Ltd in Japan."

yes maxshit is wholly-owned subsidiary company, but that doesn't mean shit tbh. the negative stigma associated with that company, plus lack of bigger recognition makes the sentiment of wanting some sort of official Nintendo of SEA or whatever it is understandable.
even if somehow the director decided to rename maxshit into that, it will be much better in name/brand recognition (although it will be much better to totally replace the upper management lol)

edit: also, maxshit being a wholly-owned subsidiary also doesn't mean there can't be Nintendo of SEA at all at the same time. they can just establish it outside Singapore for example whistling.gif
*
Personal opinion, Maxsoft works great for them. It allows them to have a legitimate presence in SEA but at the same time it allows them to distance themselves as well from any shitty practices done by Maxsoft.

I mean, there has got to be a reason why they would rather use Maxsoft than have a direct presence. Then again, I'm not a business a major so I'm not going to pretend like I know this shit.

All I know is that I'm a consumer and what Maxsoft is doing is very anti-consumer. Going to go read some Malaysian Consumer law and see what I can do about it smile.gif #nolife

derp.. I totally forgot about that lmao. it even took me quite a while to recall that name
eh btw do you really start importing stuff again?

can our consumer law actually helpful since they're Singapore company (and they don't really have office here?)
*
Why not...the German consumer rights association brought on legal action against Valve for unfair practices on Steam.
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/02/10...ll-steam-games/

Also, I learned a couple of things. What Maxsoft is doing is called;

Vertical tying - is the practice of requiring customers to purchase related products or services together, from the same company.

Couldn't find anything in the Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999 regarding tying of products but in USA the practice of tying is illegal under the Sherman Anti-Trust Act (1890).

Guess this is where my whole night is going... hope it gets me somewhere biggrin.gif

Edit: Might have found something in the Malaysian Competition Act 2010 Section 10(2)(e)

(e) "making the conclusion of contract subject to acceptance
by other parties of supplementary conditions which by
their nature or according to commercial usage have no
connection with the subject matter of the contract; "

If you found anything, do let me know. I want to get rid of TMnut's HyppTV bundle.
*
You can try invoking Malaysian Competition Act 2010 Section 10(2)(e) which relates to "tying".

However I couldn't find any cases in Malaysia but there are a few high profile cases in the US;

United States vs. Apple
https://www.law360.com/articles/673665/9th-...st-class-action

United States vs. Microsoft
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Stat..._Microsoft_Corp.

The former was against Apple locking the iphone with carrier AT&T and the latter being Microsoft bundling IE into their Microsoft Office bundle.

I would prefer info from official government portal rather than some 3rd party sites, but it seems to be behind a paywall. I thought business registration is public domain?
*
That link directs you to a Euromonitorreport of the company. The report details the companies portfolios, sales figure and etc. The data is mostly used as market research by other companies and institutions. It is by no mean a free or public report.

I don't see why they are fake shop, just that why bother with going through so much trouble just to save that few ringgits. Sometimes paying premium price in a shop with good service is easier. If you have any problems, easier to solve too.

Previously lesson learned for me was PS4 Pro. GemFive had it for RM200 cheaper, so I thought what could possibly go wrong. That was the first and last time I will buy from game shops that I don't trust. Impulse and HeavyArms is my go-to.
*
Yeah, that PS4 PRO bullcrap got a lot of people upset at offshoot retailers for things that are out of their hand. My tinfoil hat says that it was just SONY Malaysia trying to boost sales for PS4 Slim because of the close launch date.

get a tempered glass instead
a bit expensive than a normal screen protector,but its worth it smile.gif
*
Where did you buy it?

Don't really care for tempered glass but if they have that I hope they have blue light filter screen protector.
Have one on my N3DS and it really helps reduce eye strain smile.gif

Edit: Found them.
Truegamers are not messing around, selling the damned thing for RM199
http://www.lazada.com.my/nintendo-switch-b...7-20852132.html

Impulse has them for RM59 and Playasia is selling them for RM45

Although the Official PREMIUM Hori one looks tempting... Mainly because it says PREMIUM

preferred the tempered glass as its the same as my phone, feel so nice.
actually, i'm trying to search around lazada,gemfive, noluck
the nearest is playasia, and amazon uk does not ship to Malaysia.
*
Wanna split cost on Play-asia?

Planning on getting these;
http://www.play-asia.com/screen-protector-...ut-ty/13/70axep
http://www.play-asia.com/super-bomberman-r/13/70avh7

3 day shipping would cost around RM50. If you plan on getting just the screen protector can split it 3 way (RM17)

Does the anti blue light protector has some sort of tint on it? or is it 100% transparent. I don't want any special tint. And how many protectors were there in each pack?
*

No tint...the film in clear once you remove the blue plastic.

QUOTE(cse2k @ Mar 7 2017, 10:12 AM)
Hey guys, wanna ask those who bought it, is it worth buying the console now? My friend got it and I get to try, love the versatility of the system, and I like this Zelda game, but the lack of games release and pricing is really drawing me back from getting it so soon, but I'm so tempted! So any advice? (I'm a pc gamer... so the pricing of console games are a huge shock to me, and switch games seems more like indie games other than AAA titles.)
*
Lol, the sensible thing to do would be to wait until the price drop as Maxsoft begins to unbundle the system with the games and until Nintendo irons out the day one issues with the system. That way you might get a better deal and more games to play down the road, but I bet you already knew that and are only here looking for support for an impulsive purchase wink.gif

Edit: Which I support btw! Go buy the Switch! Or there will always be a void in your heart smile.gif

Edit2: Or you could try this to pass the time...
