Because they are not one of the official retailer and still have no idea where they will secure stock from, therefore collecting deposit for promising nothing.

Hello there bro MattAces, how you've been doing? Will you be getting the NS too? I'm just looking around here but looked like the NS launch price are much higher compared to PS4 Pro. shocking.gif

Yo!! Yea I'm getting mine from Impulse, preordered since they opened it. Getting Neon bundle.

Wow, I'm jelly. I really want one too but the Malaysia launch bundle price of Rm2000+ made me hesitate. I surely thought it will be much cheaper than Pro because Pro priced at launch are US$399 compared to NS at US$300 but nope. Got my dream crushed yet again.

actually is not 300 usd , its around 450 usd because it add 2more games as a compulsory bundle, not a standalone console.
blame maxsoft, the SEA distributor for Nintendo
*
So that compulsory bundle that makes the NS price skyrocketed here in Malaysia. Time to wait until the pricing drop I guess.

But wait, US$75 a piece for a NS game? Seriously? That's pricey!

agreed, maybe we should have a petition to make official nintendo SEA happen brows.gif
not 75 usd exactly, Shipping costs + Local Distributor Markup + GST + Local Reseller Markup. to the console and the games.
*
Yeah forgot to include the additional mark-up + GST for the final calculation. It's is a fair MRSP when it's brought to launch into Malaysia I guess but it's still too expansive.

I blame those forced NS bundle games. At least give us 1-2-Switch for free. brows.gif

Whoever is handling Maxsoft marketing department/price deciding department, I'm amazed by their confident.
What they are doing is EXACTLY OPPOSITE of what you learn from business marketing strategies....
Like the whole point of Nintendo setting the Switch price for $299 and games cost $59.99, giving you the illusion of not that expensive. Also recently every companies are selling stuff in standalone model during launch to avoid the high cost, convincing more people to buy their product.

And then there is Maxsoft. Markup Switch price, fine, GST import duty or whatever. They cramp in 2 games with no options, adding the extra RM500 in their advertisement, bumping the price to RM2k. I seriously don't see Switch will be as success as 3DS in Malaysia. Was hoping since Wii U community is so small, Switch will be the chosen one to bring 3DS and Wii U players together. Looks like Switch will be worse with the RM2k starter pack.

I agreed with all your points. I really want to enter into the Nintendo gaming ecosystem and started to look at the NS. However, NS launch price deter me from making that first step into owning my first Nintendo home console (my actual first Nintendo consoles is the NES and SNES during the 90s but that's my parent's). I can confidently put aside RM1500 for a standalone console and wait until there's a sales for NS games to build up my games collection one by one but forcing me to spend RM2000, that's a different story altogether.

I really want to play those great Nintendo exclusive games (e.g. Xenoblade Chronicles X, Super Smash Brothers, Mario series) but at this point of time, maybe I should take a wait and see approach first. Maybe the price will drop in the near future or there will be a new NS without the force bundle option. Looked like I talks too much, back to my PS I go. whistling.gif

Nah, I prefer to spend my money on the newest thing. I just have to delay my plan a bit and save up a little more. cool2.gif
