Dear all, i plan to subscribe an internet line as well as tv channel...
Currently this is my option for one year expenses from both tv and internet...

Option 1: [IPTV - Astro/Maxis]
Internet : 10Mbps - RM148 monthly
Channel : Family Pack 40 Channel - RM40 monthly
TOTAL: RM2256

Option 2: [Unifi + 'ehem' IPTV]
Internet : 10Mbps - RM200 monthly
Channel : 163 Channel 'ehem' IPTV - RM550 yearly
TOTAL: RM2950

Which one is better?
Any pro and con?
My main usage is internet.

Is it true that unifi use put additional 8Mbps for their iptv so we actually subcribe 10Mbps (Internet) and 8Mbps (iptv)?
While other's share their speed among internet and iptv.

If you see the 2nd option, if i add the SkyBox (so i have 2 decoder - astro and skybox) skill low that 1st option.

Regards

Option 2: TM & Hypptv please..

Speed:
ehem IPTV used approx 5mbps, leaving u with another 5mbps.
that another 5mbps enough to cover 2 families.
I subscribed Unifi 20mbps, can rent it out to another 4 neighbor families, still no lag. Just make sure that they dont do heavy torrenting.

Pricing:
Share ur internet with ur neighbor to lessen ur burden.
Previously i subscribed Unifi 5mbps, then they offer upgrade to 20mbps at RM229.
The remaining speed i rent it out (setup router+repeater to cover their house), basically now i didnt pay a single cent for my internet speed. brows.gif
550 yearly for IPTV is abit high for me. last time i checked can get rm40/month (no need astro dish)

Conclusion:
Option 2: TM & Hypptv
Internet : 10Mbps - RM100 monthly - that other RM1.2k orang sebelah boleh join bayar
Channel : 163 Channel 'ehem' IPTV - RM480 yearly
TOTAL: RM1680
Orang sebelah ada extra hypptv box, n boleh setup that extra box.
k.ngah n epi pun bukan consume banyak sangat internet whistling.gif whistling.gif
so win win la ni. hahahaha

Take ahem TV.

Soon Singtel will launch a collaboration IPTV network with Sony in this region.

With decent speeds of more than 5mbps and a CDN server located somewhere close in this region, should have no issue of watching.
