Yes, there is a true 4gb GTX970. It is called GTX980.

It will always be 3.5GB + 0.5GB card just because how it is cut down.

GTX960 was cut exactly half, so when they doubled the memory then it gets full 4GB VRAM lel.

Regardless, if you like the GTX 970's performance then just buy it.

I've been using the GTX 970 and couldn't be bothered with the low 0.5BG because the GPU is still blazing fast and value for the price.

Actually, GTX 960 wasn't exactly cut into half. The GM206 core used is actually a standalone fully fledged 1024 shaders core, which has essentially half the shader counts, ROP and texture units of the full GM204.

firstly if your GAMING ON LCD monitor 1080P/1440P you should not be worried! even on 4K it have only minor effect and if it does only few selected game ... so FROM AMD FAN! (well i been identify as such) GTX 970 GOOD buy 1080p/1440p

3-4gb not enough for 1440p if ure fussy about smoothness etc.

the reason why i'm picky with this 4gb thingy is because i play skyrim with alot of hi res mods and my current 2gb gtx670 couldn't cope with it. I'm also anticipating The witcher 3 soon so if i want to spend my money again, i really need to make sure it meet my gaming need.

Also Boris (ENB creator) already mention that his ENB work the best with NVIDIA so AMD is not an option for me.

Anyway the answer to my question is clear, there will be no true 4gb gtx970. i might just wait for gtx980 to go below RM1.8K. Thanks guys!

I would suggest getting GTX980 immediately before all the old stock disappears. USD dollar affecting the prices. GST may increase it further.
