what cam u use, srsly manual focus on dslr is pain a in the a** sweat.gif
easier on sony a7 line(video/photo)
btw fixed prime lens is good for practicing photography thumbup.gif

Im using nikon d3100, so u mean really hard to get sharp image in manual focus?Yeah love the prime lens BOKEH!!

I agree, its going to be very difficult, especially for portrait-style, full-bodied shots- the subject's face will be so small you can't really tell whether its in focus or not  cry.gif
Times like this face detection will come in more handy than normal autofocus haha  laugh.gif
*
Hmm how about half body shot? hmm.gif saw some pic that came out from this lens really nice haha

Wah.. on a dx the focal length will be alot longer oh (x1.5).. focusing will be relatively difficult and slow. But of course.. the results will be stellar if done right... wub.gif too bad Nikon doesnt have the 135mm f2 like Canon does huhu

Half body shots will be easier.. since the face (especially the eyes) are easier to see
*
Yeah I did realise the focal length will be longer on dx body but most of the time the object that I want capture was sitting still so I will have time to slowly focus haha so should I keep my kit lens and buy this as second lens?hmm I saw somewhere there is a nikon 135mm f2 but of course manual focus not like canon auto focus

flex.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif omg thanks for the confirmation!!!!! there's another seller in lowyat selling the adapter with glass too... i'll just buy straightway  laugh.gif
*
Be aware that the addition of glass on the adapter will causes degradation on image quality if you buy a cheap adapter. Anyway nikon have tons of vintage lens like the non ai .ai, ais lens which I believe your camera can utilize very well. Just my 2 cent haha icon_rolleyes.gif

you can contact the seller here
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showuser=41152
thanks for the info!

I still have not much idea on nikon system (what ai, non ai, g / f etc bla abcd), still exploring cos my main system is  Sony (using vintage lenses too so far so good, really like them). Since I can't seem to sell away my new DF (there are like 20 ppl+ asking but none can confirm me..lol fedup) so decide to use some of my vintage lenses which i used on my sony on this DF body..  hand itchy already keep in box too long
*
Here some info that require you heavy reading abit haha
http://www.throughthefmount.com/articles_b...enses_dslr.html
Basically all nikon lens with F-mount should be no problem when mount on your DF camera except the nikon rangefinder camera lens that have S-mount which is totally different mount. So that mean most of the nikon lens should be mount on your DF camera and also have the camera light meter working which is great haha. You might find some good vintage lens at a good price at ebay like nikon 55mm macro f3.5, nikon 135mm f2.8 and much more. Oh no wonder why you have this kind of vintage lens. Yeah saw that your DF selling thread I think the price can buy the other same range nikon full frame camera with more advance focus system, Im not sure tho haha laugh.gif laugh.gif sorry write so much haha hope you dont mind sweat.gif

Lately my company is doing renovation and my dept. recovered a legacy Sigma lens (for Nikon mount) from a corner of my office.

I'd like to ask any Nikon user here who is familiar/expert in legacy lenses: how valuable is this lens in terms of ringgit if it's still functional?

Maybe at the range of RM200 to RM400 hmm.gif you can refer to ebay by searching vivitar 75-210 since this lens quite similar to yours lens. Still it depend on your lens condition (here the things you have to check: fungus, haze and amount of dust on the lens element, is the aperture blade free from any oil stain, is the zoom and focus ring turn on all range and lastly is the aperture ring click on every stops). BTW nice old lens you have there thumbup.gif

i think can, but you still have to pay inspection fees per item if not mistaken.  unsure.gif

i never send to PKNS but i send my camera 2 time in times square service center (now move to other place)
they charge with inspection fees first then will call the owner for double confirm want to fix or not if not mistaken  unsure.gif

Anyone using vintage M42 lens + adapter to F mount ? Need to know if those corrective adapter works good on nikon
*
If want use adapter that have corrective lens please buy the expensive with good review one. Since cheap adapter they will put cheap corrective lens that will degrade your image quality. icon_rolleyes.gif

May I know you using the m42 lens for taking photo or video? If you want manual focus lens, nikon actually have plenty of them which is very good thumbup.gif
