Is it worth to get a nikon 35mm f/2.0D lens with damaged exterior (lots of scratches) at less than rm600? The seller claims that it still work properly. Average price at LYN used is around rm900

I think its worth it, but you have to be very sure that the damage is only limited to the external parts  hmm.gif

Quote from seller:
"The lens is clean.
There are tiny dusts inside the lens.
 But it doesn't affect pictures.
And of course it has no fungus,no haze,no scratch,no balsam separation."

damaged exterior can mean its been dropped? so just make sure it focuses well else lens may be out of alignment, so only one way to find out.
but what body are u using it on? if DX then the 35mm 1.8 is better and cheaper.

A D90.
I've been looking around for comparison with the 1.8 DX. There are features where the AF-D wins, but yeah overall 1.8 DX is better. Still I'd go for AF-D with a good price.
