hello its me wave.gif

i need opinion..

set A
RM3900 for Nikon D7100 + lens 16-85mm VR. then i'll redeem free 50mm 1.8D free from the niconclub.com.my

or

Set B
RM4299 for Nikon 7100 + lens tamron 17-55 f2.8 + 50mm 1.8D

did a bit of google.. the VRII somewhat can be on par with wide aperture of the tamron. and the tamron range pretty much limited. esp to be paired with a 50mm prime. Redundant?
the wide 16mm would make great use for indoor shooting n group photos.
but i always wanted a fast lense. but maybe this particular tamron too limited of range?

and oh, i have 18-55 kit lens and speedlite too if that weigh to anything.

thank you sifus notworthy.gif

Edit: 50mm D not G I confused hehe sorry

Hi PMR! biggrin.gif

I think you mean Tamron 17-50mm instead of 17-55mm right? The non-vc or vc version? hmm.gif
*
Hi

Oh didn't realise got too similar diff thing. If my memory serves me right it's the latter non vc
Lense alone 1499 the shop doing clearance sale
If it's 50 then more redundant...

Get Set A and add up speed light should do prefectly, if you wanted for actual day photographer
*
I got speedlite d

I want versatile. I don't do model shoot only. Or underwater or wildlife or bird. Those highly specialised ones. OK I shoot ppl also so yeah model I shoot I guess.

Then of course designated family photographer lol.
Again, long time no do.

In future I want to focus more on product travel landscape shoot.

What else u can suggest me to consider?

Dunno if I want to do video? Do u do video with ur d7200?

Hehe haven't try with video yet.
Cause these machine with me less than 2 mths now.

But if you like some object or close up object.
Can try with 35mm F1.8DX as well.

In before I'd used the lens for taken at malacca johnker street night photos that is awesome
*
How's the lense? Do u like it? Is it fast until 3 stops lol

Do u guys do photo outings nowadays? Need to brush up my rusty hand rusty head hahah

If i were u... ill go Set B at least you have the 2.8.. (whenever u need extra stops of exposure).. while if you take 16-85 vr.  you are very limited to 4-5.6 If im not wrong...
*
But I also have 50mm n speedlight.
For a fast setup.
Bit more range with 16-85?

hmm..... well honestly it very much depending on what is really needed.

if u already have a 50mm then maybe... can get Set A and then sell off 50mm f1.8G?
*
No.

OK I think set B is redundant.

The 50mm 1.8g will be mainly use as a potrait lens, because the focal length isn't that versatile for other shoots smile.gif

I would suggest going with Set A with the 16-85mm, indoor with limited light will be a little bit painful since you needa crank up the ISO sweat.gif I would suggest selling the 50mm and get a 35mm instead tongue.gif
*
Sorry did I confused myself here
The 50mm is the cheapest prime so don't think I would spend more on that. Issit D or G the cheaper one lol

I checked the reviews at iso 800 still OK. No noticeable noise. Summore it's VR can go until 3 stops down? Dunno irl situation can or not. Never had VR before
Otherwise flashgun is there too

*
That's another to consider too actually.
Haha but dunno what big differencea full frame makes

Can sacrifice lense first if worth to invest in better body

Invest in FX make sure to invest in good glass.
I see many of my friends invested in FX but put bad tamron/sigma glass on it.
*
Eh I thought they are OK options?

I just shoot casually anyway.
Few months back I woke up from sleep suddenly wanting a go pro haha

if u have intention to go FX... then dont bother with DX lenses.... else you gonna have hard time migrating

cheapest 50mm is the D version.. if u getting the G... might as well sell of the D version
*

Full frame requires a lot of money smile.gif unless he has it la biggrin.gif
The cheaper 50mm is the D version as below

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

IMHO, casual shooter can enjoy DX just fine smile.gif full frame is a luxury to have only if you have the extra money to go for it wink.gif

No doubt that FX is better than DX BUT that doesn't mean DX is bad, it still produce really good photos thumbup.gif
*
yea exactly what im thinking too. sure fx capable of producing better quality but this d7 series not too shabby either..
the price n size also a big plus. no point having great system but lazy to carry right haha

I own a D7100 also thumbup.gif can tell the D7100 is quite useful for advance beginner users, size and feel just nice wink.gif I don't see myself using full frame anytime soon solely because of the price point.

Some people will say a lot of things/reasons/excuses to get someone to use FX but at the end of the day, we're the one paying and they are not tongue.gif so it's easier to be said than done brows.gif
*
wah should tell me fr the beginning but nvm i will interrogate u now tongue.gif

1. do u feel its lacking behind the newer d7200?
2. what the high usable ISO?
3. whats ur ideal setting like?
4. what is ur complaint/s about the camera?
5. what lens/es u pair it with?

i guess thats for the first part. tq blush.gif blush.gif
