Which lens you got? 18-55mm or 18-140mm?  hmm.gif
Always bring your camera out and shoot more. That's the easiest way to improve.

18-140mm has more reach so technically it will be a more versatile lens smile.gif 18-55mm is the most common range for kit lenses.

Raining scene can be beautiful so try an go out and shoot more biggrin.gif

QUOTE(DS_Legacy @ Feb 1 2016, 10:48 AM)
just like what jun_ng_1208 sifu says, 18-140mm is more versatile. But I started shooting with a 18-55mm too.  biggrin.gif
Despite being a basic lens, you can still shoot a lot of nice shots with that lens.  icon_rolleyes.gif

I think I'm okay with 18-55mm..the thing is for 18-140mm will cost me £699, £130 more expensive than the one coming with 18-55mm..quite expensive. Still in learning process, lot to learn. Hehehe

QUOTE(d@odao @ Feb 1 2016, 11:55 AM)
Slowly la. Familiar with the cam and develop your shooting style.
The more u learn, the more u will start to check on new cam and lens.

Happy shooting.

Thnx mate..hopefully will start to check new camera 2-3 years..haha

It's ok, to know about the lens he used you can view his image on Flickr.

Click on his image, the it will show the details of what settings he used too.

Not every image on Flickr will show those details though, it will only appear if EXIF data is on the image uploaded.

I did that, but no name on the lens..huhu..

Anyhow, can you recommend me which nikon G lenses good for landscape..

I'm using this UWA http://www.sigmaphoto.com/12-24mm-f45-56-dg-hsm-ii

Review http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews...I-HSM-Lens.aspx

Bear in mind this lens is not UWA once on FX body, neither is that 14-24 mentioned in the above post.

At first I want to choose tokina 11-16, but who knows if I need to zoom a little bit more..so right now I dont know which one should I go with. thnx

You still have to 1.5x. As long as you are on DX body the 1.5x calculation to lens FOV applies.
*
I thought if using DX lens no need to 1.5x calculation..huhu..so basically I still need to consider 1.5x for whatever lens I'm using on the DX body even though it is a DX lens?

QUOTE(jun_ng_1208 @ Feb 23 2016, 09:36 AM)
Not too sure about the Sigma, but the Nikkor 16-85mm is a very versatile lens if you can accept the smaller apperture thumbup.gif thought of getting it previously biggrin.gif crop factor for DX is always 1.5x wink.gif

Tokina 11-16mm is a totally different lens when compared to the Sigma and Nikkor, as the Tokina is a ultra wide angle lens tongue.gif at the end of the day, it depends on your usage nod.gif
*
I knew that one is ultra wide angle lens, my heart keep telling me to get that one, but because money is one of the issue rite now, I think I must get either 16-85 or 17-70 which I need the sifus opinion. I dont want to go to iceland with 18-55 kit lens only..huhu

That is correct.

If you put 24-70 on DX body, it becomes 36-105.
*
I see..have u used nikon 16-85 or sigma 17-70?

guys, I need advice..my sensor got dust..i tried to clean it using using swab stick, the dust still there when I zoom until 140mm (i can confirm this is not a dust from lens, because when i change another lens, the dust still remain at the same spot)...there is suggestion from the swab stick if the stain remain, use new swab and put 1-2 drop cleaner, clean it. should i try it? however when I look at the sensor, I dont see any dust...

if view finder got dust, as long as not affect to photo then leave it.

or else send back to cleaning lol... my one also got dust spot something, sent back 2 times annual cleaning and did mention viewfinder got dust but when send back still have the mark
*
My photo got affected by it, thus i believe its on the sensor. How much it cost for the cleaning?

QUOTE(jun_ng_1208 @ Sep 14 2016, 10:00 AM)
You need to confirm if the dust is on the sensor/viewfinder first, take a photo and look at the photo on your laptop, if the 'dust' is there in the image then it's on the sensor.

If it's not, then the dust is on the VF...

What camera model you're using? Pentamirror VF has chance of dust  entering the chamber more than the Pentaprism VF sad.gif
*
I'm sure the dust is on the sensor. Because the black spot is in the photo. I'm using D5500..it will cost me up to £40 if I send it for cleaning.
