This female yellow-silver Saint Andrew's Cross can be recognised by her oval abdomen and characteristic silver and yellow pattern on the dorsal (back) side. She is enjoying her lunch with style.

This snake was resting at the tree branches and crawled away when we were seen. So, only managed to photograph its rear view. Sifu please help me with the identification of this snake. icon_rolleyes.gif

The snake is an Oriental Vine Snake (Ahaetulla sp.). It has very specialized and good eyesight.

Thanks for the ID sifu! notworthy.gif
Will update the description soon! Too bad I spent too much time on photographing the waterfall. Or else, could manage to take a closer look on the vine snake. sweat.gif

Guys, would like to ask regarding unfilled warranty.
This warranty consider local or SG?

would it still valid if we plan to claim it later?

theres someone selling d750 in garage. plan to get the body and i want to know you guys honest opinion first.

THANKS!  tongue.gif
*
The distributor is Sdn. Bhd. Definitely is local already. In SG, they use Pte. Ltd. one. Anyway, check out whether the dealer is trusted or not. COD should work at its finest. icon_idea.gif

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 8 2015, 01:00 AM)
The trick to photographing lizards is to go out during early morning, say 7-10am, when the lizards (poikilotherms) have to bask in the sun for energy. Most of them will not have enough energy to run away from you, and will often just perch lifelessly on tree trunks or twigs etc.  laugh.gif

Lizards that are alert to your presence and ready to flee will press their bodies towards the ground/bottom, as seen in the shot above. Those that are still feeling pretty okay (un-threatened) will not do that (see below)- you will have an idea whether they are going to run away or not~

Wahhh next time can go early morning and get a few shots ady. Thanks for the tips! thumbup.gif

QUOTE(mingyuyu @ Aug 8 2015, 01:31 AM)
haha I think having a 150mm focal length helps a lot too, but I lose out a lot in terms of DOF compared to shorter macro lenses sad.gif
yeah  drool.gif
*
Yeah, every lens has its respective pros and cons. I don't know if there is any solution for a better DOF for a longer macro lenses. If got, sure no need photo stack ady. biggrin.gif

Thanks biggrin.gif Waiting for the outing so that I can have an idea about making myself a new diffuser.

The more I photograph these spiders the easier it became for me to find them, I guess I am slowly learning their behaviours.  tongue.gif

Probably the rarest thing I've shot until now.

Very rare. Although some spiders feed on caterpillar, I never encounter this situation before. You are so lucky! rclxms.gif

A very common spider that you can find pretty much anywhere in the wild. The males can often be seen hanging out with the females on the same web, and it is not uncommon to see them mating in public tongue.gif

Holy! Where did you find #2 and #3? In Kampar?
@DS_Legacy will be interested to know since his project is on these spiders  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Glad that you are seeing more types of arachnids now hehe~

As for the ID:
#1- can't really tell, need more angles
#2- Leucauge decorata- Decorative Leucauge (from the family Tetragnathidae). Members of the family Tetragnathidae (commonly know as big-jawed spiedrs) are all very long and slim, and sometimes have very big jaws.
#3- Opadometa sp.- This one is very closely related to Leucauge (also from the family Tetragnathidae). Try to take a look at the 4th pair of legs (counting from the front), you will see some very beautiful comb-like bristles that are worth taking  thumbup.gif
*
That Opadometa is really nice leh. Wish to photograph one in the future. drool.gif

Awwww I thought u shot them in Kampar. sad.gif
Anyway, nice meow photo. It is a tortoiseshell cat with a coat coloring found almost exclusively in female cats, so called because of the similarity to the tortoiseshell. I saw one here in Kampar too. tongue.gif

If I am free, sure can join you. Thanks for the invitation! biggrin.gif
You will eventually know more about them if you take biology-related course for your degree. Biodiversity and genetics subjects will cover a bit about the common living organisms. So, we get to know some of them. biggrin.gif

need your help guise cause im really noob, i watch several youtube video but still cannot understand.

my gear is D5500 with standard lens 18-55mm.

how to change aperture without zooming?
for example i want to take a picture of someone, at the same distance, i want to blur the background or i want to take clear background.
*
Shoot with aperture priority mode (A). Then u can easily play with the aperture by turning to command dial. The lower the f value, the more blur background you can get. Hope this helps. icon_rolleyes.gif
