I really like the Camel shot but the sun flare eventually spoil the picture. This is the effect without lens hood... Well, from optimistic point of view, it looks quite creative hahaha... (self convince *sad*)

This is on the way to 定陵, I don't have nice shot inside 定陵 though...

Good shots overall but the shots of the Great Wall was underexposed.
Need to work on your metering a lil' next time. Shooting stone structures are a lil' tricky at times, practice more smile.gif

Thanks for the advice. Indeed I'm not yet learn on metering when I was capturing those shot but now I know how to utilize the metering. Will try my best next time. Hope I have another chance to visit Great Wall. smile.gif

BTW, which is picture is underexposed? Because most of it was overexposed, I used PS to bring down the expose and lift up the color. Or else, you will see white haze and shallow DOF.

Nope, I didn't but my friends did. They tested Grasshoppers, Starfishs, Seahorses and Silkworm's Pupae. All gross, don't dare to try. My job is to take pictures laugh.gif

They said Silkworm's Pupae taste like egg and Seahorses taste like ikan bilis yucks...

Nope, all my shots are without flash. I hate to take picture with flash. I prefer natural lights as it bring the mood of the pictures more lively.

The reason the picture looks like this is because of the spot light at the background. I tried to avoid it but it still spoiled the picture because I prolong the shutter speed.

Thanks for the comment.

Sigh... it's kinda hard to capture the pictures. Lots of "huge" hands were blocking the way.

Lots of "soft" image where the focus got distorted. Holding an ultra zoom lens at miles away kinda challenging sweat.gif Worse thing/killing thing is low light. How much I wish I have an IS ultra zoom lens... tongue.gif

IS won't help much if the subject is moving. you need those L lenses with telephoto and wide apertures.

Erm... quite far away from the stage hehe..
I was using 90-300mm lens (yup, the free lens for 350D), I bought it from someone for quite cheap hehehe...

I don't think they allow camera inside coz one of the security caught me capturing picture. But too bad that ain't working as concrete rule... coz tons of ppl bringing camera and camera phone to capture so I was like what the hell...

BTW, I caught 1 person even more superb than me. The person was sitting in front of me. With 3G phone, he was showing video over phone for his friend to watch sweat.gif

IS does helpful as I was handshake like hell at top zoom. Wide aperture and IS are the good combo that I should get brows.gif

Forgot to add 1 thing, I still get soft image even Jolin was standing still. IS does help in this situation.

BUT

Very huge draw back is the size of the lens. It is darn huge..... sweat.gif and darn expensive..................

Huge lenses (dun have to be too huge, about 8" long will do) have an advantage of creating a 'blockage' in front of ppl where their head will keep on knocking into it. My tactic is simple : Keep on 'tapping' their head with your metal lens and say 'Sorry'. It's very painful if you get 'tapped' a few times trust me! I experience it once before ... during the RO Concert at Mid Vallery last time I didn't actually tap the girl's head, I actually knocked her with my 70-200mm and she yelled! Didn't know metal L-lenses are so hard until that moment.

What she did? Simple. She blocked me, and when I said "Excuse me" she looked at me and didn't listen. Sorry-lor, I didn't knock you, you were swinging your head to the song and you knock me mah!

A long range telephoto with IS/VR will do you good. A 300mm will suffice thumbup.gif

Ouch... that's painful tongue.gif
I'm afraid will be easily caught by security guard hehehe...

Security Guard (at gate) : What is that stick pointing out of your beg? Please open your beg.
Me : Errr... nothing, it is just a stick for protection. You know lah, nowaday so many snatcher.

Security Guard (at gate) : Please open your beg.
Me : *can't be help*

Security Guard (at gate) : Sir, I'm sorry we can't allow camera in this concert. We can't allow you in.
Me : What the... I already paid for the ticket!

Security Guard (at gate) : I'm sorry, sir!
Me : *take the lens and whack the guard* EAT THIS!!! !@#$%^&^%$#@!@#$%^

Joking only biggrin.gif don't be serious tongue.gif

(Come to think twice, I'm seriously wanted to knock the head in front of me, coz he kept on block me sweat.gif , worse thing, he wasn't totally in for the concert. As I can see he is not enjoying at all)

There is still miles away for me to reach sifu standard. So please don't call me sifu as I'm still a learner like you smile.gif

To achieve these kind of shot, slow shutter speed is the key. Yes, you got it right. But there are some trick. You need to use ND8 under bright sun to achieve slow shutter speed or else the result will be overexpose. Normally 1 sec is more than enough to achieve this effect but I opt for slower than 1 sec. Some of the shot I used 20 sec - the end result will create mist effect. To be able to use less than 1 sec shutter speed, need to depend on the situation of the environment. It was fortunate that some of the shooting spot is shaded by huge tree. smile.gif
