I am currently using canon 100d (1 yr old). i shoot mainly macro and street photography atm..not sure on landscape but for now i am not that keen. is there a point for me to upgrade to canon70d? i wish for a dslr with better ISO performance mainly because i seldom use flash..

Then you have no need to upgrade. You need to learn more. One of the things that you need to learn is how to use flash. Photography is nothing without light. If you do not learn about light, there's little you can learn in buying a more expensive camera.

if iso gain is ur concern, then the short answer is NO,the increase in iso performance is not much if jumping towards 70d.if u wan significant high iso performance u shud go for full frame model(5d/6d).
people jumping to 70d mainly because of its superb autofocus performance in liveview/video(which attract videographer ) but there is no very obvious difference for photography if you shoot mainly on viewfinder. u shud get a faster lens (f1.4/f1.2) or mayb with IS also to shoot with current iso without flash. Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 IS -f2.0 with IS ,since canon announce that IS should provide 4 stop slower shutter speed without blurring which translate to 4 stop brighter image,so u can convert to theoretical f/0.5 lol(no such lens exist). |
