QUOTE(teongpeng @ May 21 2015, 06:57 AM) Axias are okay. A new Axia is only around 25k MYR. Most of my recent Uber trips were on Axia and Myvi. Hope to sit in an Iriz.....From interviewing several Uber drivers, I think the net income from each 15 km trip after deducting Uber commission and fuel cost may be around 5 to 8 MYR. QUOTE(tension_fedup @ May 21 2015, 07:31 AM) Based on my past conversation with taxi drivers, depending on the company (or individual) that lease them the permit, most of them are paying around RM50 - RM60 daily which means RM1,500 - RM1,800 monthly permit cost. |

QUOTE(tension_fedup @ May 21 2015, 07:31 AM) Taxi need to rent (in a way to put it) on a daily basis as I heard. And the rate is between RM 50-80 per day. Not sure how true but that's what I was told. Also "belum cari keuntungan sudah kena bayar sewa " |

QUOTE(river.sand @ May 24 2015, 08:57 PM) Cars must be no older than 10 years. But when you first register, it must be no older than 6 years. That's true on the rules imposed on the carayam disqualified liao You haven't factored in petrol and maintenance cost yet, right? With regard to income, It's a matter of how long you spend on the road and the 'market' condition. The math is simple RM200 nett x 5 days = RM1,000 |

must factor in car maintenance and also the depreciation of the car. i use myvi as an example, if you want to drive uber you need to buy a 2011 myvi that cost around 23k
5 years later you got to sell your car, if you are lucky you can sell 15k, if you are unlucky one, maybe you get like 13k. say 10k depreciation to cost in to own a 5 years uber (myvi). depreciation every year is around 2k, or monthly cost RM170 bucks. Input from our member 15km trip can receive RM8 max before maintenance fee factor in. say maintenance cost is 10%. if driving 150km receive RM80 * 0.9 = RM72. in order to cover RM170 depreciation, you need to travel 354km per month. (I am not sure the RM8 receive every 15km is base on NGV or petrol.) if you work as part time only, 2 hours a day or 14 hours a week. everyday must drive 50km in order to breakeven your cost. the 51km onwards only your profit. those who wanted to become uber driver as part time, please reconsider it. |

If you compare a 10 years old Camry or altis they are as good as a 2 years old proton saga. However to drive uber you must own a car that less than 10 years old. To meet this criteria, changing car every 5-10 years is a must. Many of us in a life time maybe buy 2-4 cars maximum. For those rich catogery don't need to be uber driver. Does that make sense to you we have to factor cost for changing car every 5-10 years? |
