The N010M Zhuk-M is an advanced variant of the original N010 Zhuk radar introducing advanced air-to-surface functions like mapping and terrain following. The radar forms part of the MiG-29SMT upgrade, the Zhuk-ME finding success on export MiG-29 aircraft to countries like India. The radar features improved signal processing and has a detection range of up to 120 km vs a 5 m2 RCS target for the export variant, and up to 10 targets tracked and up to 4 attacked at once in air-to-air mode.[5] The tracking range is 0.83 - 0.85 of the detection range. In air-to-surface mode the radar can detect a tank from up to 25 km away and a bridge from 120 km away, a naval destroyer could be detected up to 300 km away and up to two surface targets can be tracked at once. The radar has a weight of 220 kg and a scanning area of +/- 85 degrees in azimuth and +56/-40 degrees in elevation. The antenna is an electronically scanned slotted planar array and has a diameter of 624 mm.

We still need the MiGs to be upgraded because the period between contract signing and actual delivery of the aircraft would take up to five, six years and the subsequent integration and familiarization would take another year or two. The MiGs upgrade programme, on the other hand, could be done in less than 2 years and we already has extensive ground support and munitions for them.

Even when we already got the new aircraft, these MiGs could be relegated into secondary role, ensuring the status quo in term of quantity, unless we somehow bought around 40 new aircraft

For MPA, get a good long range like P8 or Airbus A320 MPA and put as join procument between the airforce and navy.

share both purchasing and human resources where the air force will fly the plane while the navy will run the system

For AWECS, Get the air force to fly the plane while GAPU run the system. Or for SAM, air force handle the radars (using sam radars, save purchasing a new radar system) and GAPU operate the actual missiles

Yes, this would require a new operating standard and Manuel but i would say it a win-win situation. Each side get what they want although not fully theirs

the MKM was delivered after 5 years because there prototype made to test the entire system from diff vendors.. It take take time to sort out all the "rojak" system together
