Valve doesn't share the infos publicly to avoid well , boosters , but then again there are already a lot of rank boosters in the game , but at the very least they don't have the precise info anyway.

It's mostly counted by wins , maybe a slight consideration of frags put into it. I once had a major losing streak while being on the top for most of the matches there , like 20-30+ frags. My friends who queued with me who didnt do so well , dropped earlier as for me mine still maintained.

Anyway , you don't need to reset your rank in order to play good , you just need a better team , someone who's willing to listen and can play decently , that is enough for you to reach better ranks. Remember , if you have the skills , no matter how hard you're losing , if something goes well on your side , you can take that advantage and bring it back , that comes from many many hours of playing of course. I have like 2.8k hours and I'm hovering between the LEM and SMFC rank and there's still plenty of better players out there who has like lesser hours , don't fret , some people learn fast , some learn slower.

Nope, there's no way to reset your rank in game. You can only get a new Steam account and buy another copy of CS:GO to start all over. smile.gif

There are many factors that affect the ranking. It's all down to the ELO Point System.

This article and also the one suggested by Axell above are helpful in providing you with some answers: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...s/?id=312582297

Basically, the things that affect the ranks are MVPs, round loss/win and ELO points.
Playing WITH your higher ranked friends and AGAINST higher ranked opponents will also gain you more ELO points. That's why there are high ranked players who offer services to boost players to their desired ranks. but that's very low and cheap, in my honest opinion.

And yes, CS:GO has TONS of hackers. After the recent ban waves, there are many more smurfs (experienced players with many hours of gameplay and high rank on their original accounts who play with their other multiple account(s)) playing nowadays. Hackers will be always be there.

Nope. It's not only counted by WINS but also MVP. Sometimes even you lose you get alot MVP you will still level up.

Many people keep winning but never up rank because winning the game is not enough. Going against higher rank than you and getting MVP is the key.

even you create new account you will still sux because as i mentioned earlier its about your gameplay. The more MVP you get the more easier you rank up like my friend, we always lose in gaming but he always get 4 to 7 MVP while i am gold nova III he is Gold NOVA VI by losing.

Yup , true for the wins part , not too sure about the mvp part. Though rank doesn't really matter nowadays after the banwaves , the standard for all ranks dropped drastically , I've seen LEM's/SMFC's playing like 1/2AK rank style , that's how bad it is now.

Though it's super easy to get promoted nowadays , I stopped playing MM before the banwaves because it was just getting ridiculous every matches there will be at least 1 obvious hacker inside , stopped for 2 weeks or so , the 2 banwaves that came banned a lot of the hackers in my previous matches and I started playing again , loss a match , won a match , instantly went up to GE , I guess they removed a lot of my losses for me to rank up that soon.

rank does matter because its how the competitive choose your opponents.

That i do know of , just that people who disregard ranks , will play better , not giving a crap if they lose the rank or whatnot.

Think of it like , if you're decent enough , you can get back your rank anytime you want , so having the ranks on top of your head , stressing out about it , will just frustrates you once you are about the lose the match when theres still a chance for a comeback. I'm speaking from experience , i was once who kept thinking about ranks too , but further down the road , I didn't really care anymore , it just makes me play worst.

Anyway , for people who are really passionate about the game , should watch more Youtube videos , such as WarOwl or watch pro matches , you will learn a lot from those , how to hold a certain position and stuffs.
