QUOTE(THTgadgets.com @ Mar 15 2015, 09:15 AM) At least Apple released their iPhone 6 and 6 Plus last year, but what about Samsung? They recently debuted their two new flagships but people will find it expensive with the increase in USD as well as GST being taken into account! I can safely say that for the next few months, the smartphone market will be rather sluggish, until things normalize after who-knows-how-long! Perhaps outright purchases will be sluggish, but I do foresee many signing contracts and getting their phones with subsidies from telcos.

QUOTE(toomanyrulez @ Mar 15 2015, 09:32 AM) Here's an interesting scenario that's happening in Malaysia right now: Malaysian consumers buying more phones, but total overall expenditure decreased. That says a lot. So we can expect it could be worse in the future. http://www.lowyat.net/2015/02/malaysian-co...phones-in-2014/Which means more and more people buying phones that offer better value compared to the premium brands. Enter Xiaomi, Asus, Huawei, Lenovo, etc. What is interesting is the latest flagship phones from the above companies are already beginning to be priced in the somewhat more premium category. For example the Mi Note, Honor 6 Plus and Ascend 7, Vibe Z2 Pro, etc. Except maybe for Asus.

QUOTE(nas @ Mar 15 2015, 06:19 PM) Next iPhone most likely will have slightly faster processor, 2gb ram and better camera. Not much to improve on from current iPhone 6/6+. And perhaps waterproofing

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Mar 15 2015, 06:51 PM) Sorry , have to post this out cuz I find it very dumb . Friend cracked his glass on his 6+ so followed him to get it repaired . Went to a few shops and finally found 1 with 1k for replacement . Replacement need to be done as a whole set with digitizer so fair enough . However , screen replacement goes by capacity . A 16G screen cant fit into 64G or 128G and vice versa . If it's fitted differently , the led brightness goes up half way only , meaning your brightest is actually in the middle for normal screen . So the guy , technician , said he didnt believe it himself so gave it a try . Tried it with 16G and 128G screen on my friend's 64G . Sure enough , the screen is not bright . Finally , he went a "borrow" a 64G screen from the shops nearby and of course , it works . Now , who on earth makes screen according to phone capacity ? Only Apple can do it or someone correct me if i'm wrong Wow. That just makes no sense whatsoever.

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Mar 16 2015, 12:20 PM) How to tell a bad home button from a good one? My home button is quiet, not much sound. My friend's is clickety-click, very loud. Which one better? Or no difference? I honestly don't know. But if both function well then shouldn't be any problems.

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Mar 17 2015, 11:55 AM) Wanna upgrade but not sure 6 or 6+.. And when is probably the next one coming out There would be an announcement in the next 6 months or so as traditionally iPhones are announced in September. If I were you at this stage I would wait, even of you don't buy the new ones., the older ones get a slight price reduction

QUOTE(playxboxwii @ Mar 18 2015, 02:04 PM) Hi Is buying iphone 6 from directd trusted? Not singapore/ap set? Or any other shop to recommend in selangor besides machine? I'm not sure about iPhones but for most other brands they have both local and AP sets on hand, so you need to be very clear when you tell them what you want. Also it only makes sense if you are buying cash from directd. If you want to buy via monthly instalments or via credit card, best go to a retailer like machines, SenQ, etc.

QUOTE(THTgadgets.com @ Mar 19 2015, 01:14 PM) Oh yeah, iOS 8.2 has been so-far-so-good thus far and if you noticed, the most significant thing to appear on the home screen is the "Apple Watch" app. Looking forward to try it out when the Watch finally debuts in Malaysia later this year! I'm still skeptical about smart watches... Maybe Apple will change my mind, ha ha..

QUOTE(ai_m @ Mar 19 2015, 11:06 AM) well, i for now just want the phone to work for me, not i have to work the phone. after using android for almost 4 years, that what android makes me feel. i ahve to do a lot of deep settings, install this, install that, root this, unlock that, tweak this, do that.... just to do one thing.... maybe its just me. i happy to be back to ios now, the one thing i dont really like about iphones is the accessories are expensive. haha. At least you lasted four years in Android. I only managed to survive a year. Then again maybe my experience would have been different if I was on a Nexus instead of a Sam...

QUOTE(anderson007 @ Mar 20 2015, 03:25 PM) Could you tell me the key features of S6? I am wondering. I also would like to know the current price of it and don't forget to mention the limitation as well. If you're asking about the Samsung Galaxy S6, then you're at the wrong thread. Check the Android thread instead.

QUOTE(THTgadgets.com @ Mar 20 2015, 01:50 PM) Four years with Android? Not bad, as I also lasted only a year but switched between TWO Samsung phones before ditching the last one for an iPhone 5! My only experience was with a Note 3 although I did briefly flirted with an S3 mini and an Ace 2 LTE as backup devices , both of which were useless. The Note 3 served me well except for mysterious battery drain issues and abnormal heating up few times.
