APPLE RAISES PRICES OF ALL IPHONE MODELS IN MALAYSIA AFTER GST IMPLEMENTATION   



At the stroke of midnight, almost everything became 6% more expensive. One of the first, and perhaps most significant, companies to raise prices of its products here in Malaysia is Apple, which earlier updated its online store to raise prices of its entire iPhone range, from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 5c.

Less than one month after Apple raised the prices of iPhones in Malaysia, the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) has resulted in yet another price increase – and added a further blow to consumers’ wallets. A quick check on the Apple online store will show that not only the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus’ retail prices have increased by 6%, even the older models including the iPhone 5s and 5c saw a slight but noticeable bump in prices.



The new retail prices of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models  in Malaysia are as below:

iPhone 6, 16GB: RM2,702 (up RM153 from RM2,549 – 6.00%)
iPhone 6, 64GB: RM3,126 (up RM177 from RM2,949 – 6.00%)
iPhone 6, 128GB: RM3,550 (up RM201 from RM3,349 – 6.00%)
iPhone 6 Plus, 16GB: RM3,126 (up RM177 from RM2,949 – 6.00%)
iPhone 6 Plus, 64GB: RM3,550 (up RM201 from RM3,349 – 6.00%)
iPhone 6 Plus, 128GB: RM3,974 (up RM225 from RM3,749 – 6.00%)
On top of that, the two iPhone 5s models have also gone up in retail price:
iPhone 5s, 16GB: RM2,278 (up RM129 from RM2,149 – 6.00%)
iPhone 5s, 32GB: RM2,490 (up RM141 from RM2,349 – 6.00%)

Finally, the iPhone 5c has also increased in price from RM1,499 to RM1,589 – again a 6% increase in retail price.
What is really a crushing blow for consumers here is the fact that in less than one month, the retail prices of the iPhone has gone up anywhere between RM279 to RM425, with the double whammy that is the weakening Ringgit Malaysia against the US Dollar, and now the implementation of the GST. It is definitely not an unexpected move, but seeing as how the cheapest iPhone 6 is now RM2,702 is quite a painful sight even if you’re not looking to buy one.

Guys my iPhone 6 always show 3G on Celcom. Already called the Celcom and they confirmed my sim card is LTE, and also I have enable the 4G. I'm located at Jalan Klang Lama, when using my nexus 4 and note 8 the line can reach H+ . Anyone got the same problem?

I'll be getting a new 6 this Saturday, I hope I can find one in store.

Yup, I got mine today. 64GB Silver, same as my previous 6. Well, time to restore my backup.

I can tell you that Celcom's coverage map is bullsh*t anywhere outside the Klang Valley. Places that they claim to be under "strong" coverage sometimes don't get jack-squat, and some ulu village that even Waze cannot find can get full bar 4G. My mum's house in J.B, for example, considered not covered, but I can get a stable 4G connection. The commercial/shopping district that's listed as 4G close by often can't even maintain a stable 3G connection and falls back to E. Total bullsh*t!!

It's the country, not the phone.

I live in Singapore and get 4G/LTE almost everywhere, no problem. Only when I go back to J.B to visit my mum on weekends and swap to a Celcom sim does it start hunting and switching between 3G and 4G constantly. At mum's house, no issues, constant 4G, but in the city centre and other high density areas that are supposed to be within 4G coverage, it hunts all the time.

I think it's a case of Celcom just not upgrading infrastructure to keep up with the number of users.

What is the number 1 app under Battery Usage?

Its because you never disconnect the directions to waypoints and turn of the app properly, the app keeps running in the background draining your battery. You will know this where you have the gps on the top of the phone being kept on.

Anyone experiencing wifi dropping issues? It's so damn annoying. Will be connected to wifi for a few minutes, then it'll drop to 3G. Need to reconnect through settings or set & unset airplane mode. On the iPhone 6, latest Ios version.

That is why Whatsapp or any other msg apps can cause batt drain as i believe it is continuing sending the message even you are not connected....
