Well, you could organize bulks or group orders to save on shipping. I'd suggest getting stuff from Amazon (UK) pickings are a bit slim, but at least you know it's coming from registered companies

you could do that.btw but how much does the customs charge for tax?

btw, amazon UK is a R2 disk but its a PAL disk, not the NTSC disks like if u get it from the japs.

well, there are quite a number of sites that sells originals. that includes the 1 i've already listed. the 3 i use i trust them completely and i get my stuff within 3 days being in stock(otaku UK). so maybe some other ppl would like to share some other site that has been tested and reliable?

icon_idea.gif I just bought several anime DVDs from the shop that I mentioned in my first post. It's Onegai Sensei, Fruits Basket, School Rumble, Jigoku Shoujo and Rozen Maiden and live action GTO.

Here's the verdict after watching it :

Onegai Sensei, GTO (live version) and Fruits Basket :
Honto ni sugoi quality and excellent subtitles. Like some of you guys have mentioned, it's most probably the US bootleg version. It has english and chinese subtitles and Japanese/English language. The prices average at around RM30 per box set minus 5% discount for members.

School Rumble and Rozen Maiden:
Pretty decent subtitles (minor mistakes) and so-so screen quality.

Jigoku Shoujo :
vmad.gif Dang bad subtitles, names are chinese-ed and all over the place. However quality of the graphics is pretty good. Pretty cool package.

Well, I bought all of my anime DVDs from that shop in Petaling Street and I've had my hits and misses. So far, the hits are more than the misses though. Here's how (at least, what I think) to see if the bootleg anime DVD that we buy are good quality or not.

So far, all of the animes that I bought that have really good subs and quality are the ones with english description at the back of the boxset. ( Not the cheap dvd that costs RM12-16 one ). The ones that have bad subtitles are the boxsets that have japanese description at the back. I'm not saying that this is the fool-proof way to avoid bad subbed DVDs but at least it's safer.

As for downloading anime... The streamyx in my place is very irregular and I don't really like to watch anime on the PC. XD My fault but I really prefer to watch it via VCD or DVD.

So far, the worst subbed anime that I've bought is Fullmetal Alchemist and Jigoku Shoujo. I'm seriously thinking of buying the original FMA DVD that costs RM175... the one I bought with bad subtitles costs RM55. (><) ARGH...

PS : I forgot to add that the Wolf's Rain OVA that I bought at AnimeTech in Sunway Pyramid is bootlegged anime. It costs me RM45 for a 4 episode OVA so... yeah. Kiba's name turned to Lang Nya <-- Wolf's Teeth/Fang.

Bootlegs are supposed to be bashed, then crushed with a steamroller.

If you want to buy the PnSwG series madmoz, you have to either buy it from Amazon JP or wait for the cheaper Funimation version scheduled to be released sometime this year.
