I'm so gonna order the Takara version. But I hope someone comes up with a crotch upgrade for CW defensor so that it looks better.

A closer look on the CW Titan Class Devastator.

It seems like (if on scale) Devastator could literally squeeze juice out of the other combiners laugh.gif

what is the actual ratio in G1 between these combiners? y he so much more bigger?? too huge! sweat.gif
*
since Hasbro are releasing all these combiners based on the IDW comics, then i think it would be more accurate if the IDW scales are used here.

the closest we can get to determine the actual size in comic is to compare Devastator with Superion because it's the closest we can get, for now. there is a comic stripe where Prowlstator ripped Superion apart and from the scenes itself, it seems like there's no difference between the 2 therefore it is safe to say that all combiners should by right be of the same dimension.

Devastator is just made big for the matter because probably:-
1) he is perhaps the most celebrated Decepticon combiner; and
2) he is made out of construction vehicles so making him extremely big kind of make sense.

The only crazily big transformers would be Metroplex and Trypticon but of course, Unicron but he is out of this world.

But it's not unnatural though as Hasbro did mention that Devastator is a Titan Class so he is not supposed to sit well with the other combiners. Just like how they release the legends class Skywarp. Skywarp is not supposed to be so small.

All scale goes out the window when Bruticus walks in with his shuttle arm, though. tongue.gif

Yeap! so, if we were to apply actual physics here then Bruticus would actually look like this to his fellow combiner comrades.

Well if actual scale is really taken in to account then you guys won't even have the chance to get an "oversized" motorcycle as Defensor's limb right ? laugh.gif
*
correct. that's why I remembered I posted somewhere here that I have no issues with an oversize motorcycle since it's a toy and a toy is not supposed to make sense especially when it comes to Transformers because in G1, nothing make sense laugh.gif until today, the mystery of Optimus Prime's trailer sudden disappearance when Optimus Prime transformed still bugs me.

in fact, i don't even care if they are scaled properly because from the very beginning, if actual size were to be taken into account, Superion is already out of the window.

but apparently, Hasbro wanted to bring "scale-to-life" with the Titan Class Devastator which explains why he is made to be that huge. I don't know how accurate it is but I also don't care.

What will happen if it got attacked from the left shocking.gif

Yeap, the Menasor in its original configuration is amazingly disastrous however after some minor mods, i'm actually liking it more than my Superion.

nice but from the sample model itself, it seems like the robot kibble is severely affecting the vehicle mode's mobility AND the transformation looks similar to the current MP Prowl.

same mold?

Sharing Is Caring

Combiner Wars Devastator (Chinese Review)

It may take a while to load but this is the best look and review on the actual figure available right now. Though it may be sound but it is one hell of a boring review.

Whatever it is, all I can say for now is that:-

1) the individual bot mode is inferior;
2) the combined mode however (to me) is great;
3) shoulder/arm is a bit "funny"
4) ratchets for combined mode is SICK!

It also seems that all the individual bots does not have ratchet joints and only ball joints and now I know why Hasbro sacrificed so much on the individual bot because they need to put all those parts which was meant for the individual bots into making Devastator.

Really cannot wait for the arrival of this thing BUT I will seriously have problem trying to fit it into my Detolf shelf lol

P.S Nonnef production already change shipping cost. Y not we do a bulk for this.

But. Almost RM40.00 for a pair of plastics is a bit costly though =/

already spent almost a fortune on those PE add on kits T___T

here, for those who complained about CW Devastator. 3rd party GT-1 Gravity Builder. All the individual bots have elbows and is almost perfect is every sense but the costs is going to burn a hole in your wallet larger than a meteor crater.

by the way, why does only Devastator gets vehicle mode feet whereas the rest of the combiner gets actual robot feet?

(Btw confirmed with a toyseller .. Gravity Builder IS Warbotron)
Honestly.... I actually much prefer CW's version... when I look at some of Warbo bruticus' figure like blast off.. one look at their face sculpt , it reminds me of BlastOff.. so far looking at the face sculpts of these "Constructicons" they don't give me that feel.
I think for now.. my large sized DEVIE will still be the Takara version + the shoulder addons from 3rd party =_=-... warbo has made me sad for an awesome looking Devie..
*
So.. the Gravity Builder is a retool of Bruticus?

Yeah, I don't know why so much hate towards the CW Devastator because I think in terms of accuracy, they are the closest thus far. True it has its flaws but hey, it's an official product. Not to say 3rd parties are "ciplak" but..... still =/

I've pre-ordered mine some time ago so be assured that I will post pictures of it when it arrives =D

QUOTE(omichael @ Jun 16 2015, 02:28 PM)
I would gladly pay 3x the price of the official Devvy to get a solid MP-style 3rd party one... but this one is not looking great so far.

The combined mode looks like a more detailed TFC Herc.

Guess will just have to wait... maybe MMC or Unique Toys will deliver something worthwhile.
*
:haha: not everyone is blessed financially to spent so much monies on toys.

QUOTE(tnsai @ Jun 16 2015, 03:42 PM)
Yep, not to sound.. what's the word .. "lannsi" ? I mean.. if I have the money, I would want to buy the best on possible.. even if it is worh 3 times the price.. but it is the only way to get the nicest ont possible.. then so be it i guess.. just have to plan your finances.
I really really really hope that FT providing cartoon eyes for their Stomp could mean they would attempt a devastator one day.. I know it's a bit of a stretch but who knows..
*
It all depends on what is your purposes actually. For collection purposes then by all means, go for 3rd parties. They look extremely good in shelves as display but I wouldn't let kids touch them.

I on the other hand wanted something that at least when I showed it to people on display and on request, I can take them out and let them fiddle with it.

:haha: yeap. i went =O when Mixmaster was announced. I have no idea why they needed to do a "front load cement mixer" rather than the traditional one. It's not like they serve a purpose as Devastator's limb. In combiner mode, it was turned into the normal cement mixer =(

Anyone's seen Hotspot in stock around PJ? (Bandar Utama / Sunway area, don't mind travelling a bit)
I went to 1U today, saw it in the toy shop next to parkson, but they insist only selling 'set of 5'. I didn't get the set as I'm only wanting Hotspot now. Trs, Jusco, Parkson, Hamley's all don't have 3rd wave yet.

Would appreciate if anyone notice 3rd wave instock, pls gimme a head's up.
*
As far as I know, toy shops don't sell these voyagers individually. they are sold in sets. Since Wave 3 is fairly fresh, don't expect places like Toysrus to stock them so fast.

Wait a while.
