Saw alpha bravo and skydive before in empire but that time note keen...

Later may drop by ioi city tru to check...

So far never seen slingshot before in this line up...
*
I've been there several times for Generation lineup hunts and I have been disappointed many times. It seems like they have very little of them but heck alot of RID line ups OR maybe the Generation lineups sells out too fast.

Slingshot is not release officially here in Malaysia so you won't be able to see them in TRU. In fact, I don't think any of our local hobby shop did carry them too. Most of the stocks are from individual re-sellers who bought them from the US.

Hot Toys one also cannot transform ma. i think only Takara Hasbro has the rights to sell transformable Optimus Prime.
*
:haha: i don't think that is true.

my take is that it seems HasTak has perfected Optimus Prime with the MP-10. the only issue to complain about is with the nitpicks. To 3rd parties, their market share for a transformable Optimus Prime is virtually non-existent but what they can exploit is through something HasTak has not ventured into, those niche markets. higher quality collectibles.

their only strength is to distinguish their release with the HasTak's and so they pumped in their resources to make a non-transformable but distinguishable Optimus Prime. costs is also one of their concerns. putting an exorbitant price on them and they will guarantee their failure.

making a transformable figure means adding joints and that means adding costs. to get a very accurate figure, the designers must be very good at hiding kibbles and that can only be achieved by adding multiple joints. this is evident with the recent release of the CW Constructicons with so very little articulations and joints that actually moves.

3rd parties can (if they want) to make an even better Optimus Prime than the MP10 but at what costs?

Besides, they aren't sure if they could tempt collectors who deemed the MP10 as the holy grail. They are jumping into a market where there's virtually nothing to take the bait.

The fact that 3rd parties are releasing variants of Devastator over and over again supports the aforesaid observation.

is there any company that got license to produce transformable transformers?

No?

when you say "transformable transformers", do you mean the official product line or unofficial product line because if you also mean unofficial product line then there's a massive glossary for that.

exactly my point. especially if it's freaking expensive. if i want detailed robots, i buy gundam.  rolleyes.gif

you can't say that ='(

it won't satisfy a Bumblebee fan even if he/she was given a PG 1/1 scale Aile Strike Gundam =((((

I guess everyone has their own taste... some people like non-transformable transformers, just like how some people may like cars you can't drive, or chairs you can't sit on  whistling.gif
*
laugh.gif I can relate to this.

i have the DMK-02 and DMK-03 because the transformable variant of it just couldn't cut it. The AOE Optimus Prime looks retarded (no offense).

:haha: Freedom fan?

Happy, maybe but satisfied, definitely no.

Same thing if you are given a Mercedes instead of BMW if you're a hardcore fan of BMW. You'll still be happy and all but deep down you know this is not you XD

That's MP 7 mould.   MP 11-SW and TC color are lighter compare to the old mould imho
*
ah-hah!

Not sure about SW but I know people are making comparison with its Hasbro counterpart =O initially wanted to buy it but then looking at the price tag attached to it, I'll be better saving it for something else since I already have Sunstorm and Acid Storm.

It seems like Takara is following the footsteps of Hasbro now, putting stuffs as "exclusive" and tagged them sky high =( and I don't even want to get started with what Hasbro did with Silverbolt's mould.

It's not Takara's fault..

Asia Exclusives are actually brought in and priced by Hasbro.. As  a toy store boss told me, it's usually limited runs comissioned by individuals for certain markets (China, Taiwan, HK etc)

TakaraTomy Mall Exclusives for example the MP-11 TC is the usual price for MPs but since it's for Japan only, the only way we get it is through importing from other retailers , hence the premium.. I got a friend who import stuff from Japan for me, I'm only paying 470 (10% of that is his service charge) + whatever shipping
*
oh wow! can your friend import a TC for me =O

Hasbro combiner wars and takara united warriors

thanks for the answer. just want to double confirm tongue.gif

any idea which shop already do PO for Bruticus (Hasbro) and Defensor (Takara)?
*
PO for Bruticus is not opened yet because Hasbro hasn't released them yet. It will be next year and I don't think you can PO for the Hasbro version. As far as I know, hobby shops are only taking POs for the Takara release of the combiner wars line. If you seek the Hasbro version then you need to get them from TRU or get them from hobby shops when they arrive.

PO for Defensor (Takara) closed about 2 months ago as it's scheduled to be released just before Christmas. If you are still interested, you may need to search for others who are willing to give up their PO or just hope that hobby shops actually bought more than the POs then you can walk in. If you are lucky, you may get the PO prices and if not, the RSP.

QUOTE(kiien_kyan @ Nov 12 2015, 11:35 AM)
wow.. if the defensor force to increase the price above RM500, i oso feel like give it up lo.. cant afford le.. sad.gif
*
I don't think it will get pumped up that high. The prices given are the RSP but usually POs are still relatively lower. Same thing for my MP18B. I PO'd them but was later informed the price has been increased but that's the RSP. When I actually collected my PO, the price only got jacked up about RM20.00 and not RM50.00 as per the RSP.

EDITED: Some pictures to end the drought.

History proves it Takara UW Menasor JACKED UP RM50 . I got mine at RM350 where my friend got it for RM400/ . You be lucky if only increased RM20. As our RM dipped against other currency more and more, even PO now have "+/-" at the end of the pricelist.
*
Yeah, that Menasor cry.gif I bought a set for my brother but luckily enough, I only paid RM350 because i PO'd it. RM400 was the price for customers who did not PO but then again, I think it depends on the supplier and your vendor actually. Sometimes, vendors jacked up their price because their costs increases and they refuse to reduce their profits. For my case, I was lucky enough that my vendor absorb some of the "costs" for my MP18B =)

Your "PO" refers to Bruticus or Defensor because I saw you quoted both "Defensor" and "Bruticus" in your post.

laugh.gif what happened =O

by the way, just saw that Hasbro will release a G2 variant of Bruticus and the gift set box has already surface somewhere in the world.

I don't know but after Superion, it seems like Hasbro jumps the gun and releasing everything everywhere.

You can't really compare actually. WeiJiang put quite a lot of quality contol in their MPP10 and it shows. The joints are tight, there more diecast parts & details than official MP-10 not to mention the size which is much larger than the original MP-01. Well get your money's worth I tell ya thumbup.gif.

Taikongzhans products isn't bad but and the prices are much more affordable but unless we put in some effort in touching them up (like what you did) they will just seem mediocre compare to the official product.

Can't wait for this to release soon... drool.gif

I saw that someone posted the evasion deviant of this mold and if WeiJiang does release it then I have my money on its preorder because the current Hasbro version is way too small and the paint is just too..... kiddish.

Sad to see you guys are actually promoting and supporting pirated stuff...
*
the distinction between pirated and original for TF figures has been blur since 3rd parties releases their take on the characters. in fact, this is true with all figures.

to stay true to the definition of original, the figures must be manufactured with licence granted by Hasbro. Anything short of that is considered as pirated. if that is the case, the highly praised Warbotron (Not Bruticus) is also a pirated figure but no one so far have any issues about it.

so, why the sudden discrimination on this? is it because it has a China branding on it?

to be honest, i don't think a rift should be created between what's original and what is not. at the end of the day, we as collectors are only looking for the best looking figure out there that money can buy.

Agreed.

It seems like these 3rd parties are taking the toys business more seriously than Hasbro does.

The discrimination because they straight copy the mould of its original counterpart and make it extremely larger then the official release and you have so called TF fanboys (or TF fucbois) endorsing these RIP OFF China mainland brand...that's my issue

Third parties? They never copy and produce the original farts right?

I suggest those endorsers of Taikogen Taigogen or whatever they are called to open a different thread...just like those fake Lego thread
*
woah! why the sudden "holier than thou" attitude?

don't tell me you have never in your life resorted (endorsed) to "rip-offs" and has vowed to only buy originals and nothing lesser.

please also bear in mind that most people who participated in the discussion here are old timers and they know what's good for them, in fact, i think some are even more qualified than you and me in being called "collectors" so it would be pleasing if you were to choose your words wisely in describing all of us. i am surprised that of all people here, you were the one who made a fuss out of this.

you probably belong to the "true blood" denomination and despise those who buys anything other than what HasTak has manufactured but i don't think a true collector should discriminate in such a manner. so as long as it's a good figure, it should be added into the collection. i rather show off my impressive collection to my friends rather than showing them shit figures but are official products, i feel humiliated in the latter scenario.

your suggestion reminds of someone. someone who wanted to segregate the nation by opening a different tech building catering only for one race and the claiming he has no intention of dividing the nation.

there was never a rule here in separating KOs and originals. If it's a transformer, it can be discussed here so kindly refrain yourself from introducing something hostile and unwelcome here.
