Is there any reason for me to choose a Samsung 840 EVO/Pro SSD rather than a Lite-on S900 which is priced 1/2 than the former? After googling for abit, I noticed that people listed the Samsung SSD as one of the best performing SSD out there while I can't really find much review on the S900. I'm thinking of buying a 256gb SSD and while price isn't really an issue, I'll probably go for the S900 if they perform pretty much the same as the Samsung. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

QUOTE(horns @ Apr 12 2015, 12:46 AM) yes, there are some reasons that you need to consider. samsung 840 evo is still suffering from slow read bugs for old data, and samsung 840 pro is expensive (if you can still find one. the latest model is 850 pro, which is also expensive) I see. So what are the circumstances that will make the Samsung perform better than the Lite-on?if your usage is more about common usage and gaming, most likely mainstream drives like s900 is sufficient for you. the differences between mainstream and performance drives are actually very vague in these types of usage. (meaning you feel no obvious differences) |
