ssd optimizations, ram-based enhancements, and using hdd as downloads an data storage can make sure your ssd have a very long life.

Buang page files (no prob for me cos 16 GB RAM) & hibernate. brows.gif brows.gif

Before format HDD and install windows, first go to BIOS set AHCI mode, then,
Booting and partitioning of MBR for Windows 7/ 8.1:
1. Boot from the Windows 7 DVD/USB
2. After booting you see the Install Windows 7/ 8.1 screen, press Shift + F10 to open a command prompt.
3. At the command prompt, Type diskpart, press Enter
4. Type lis dis, press Enter
5. Type sel dis X (where X is the number your drive shows up as), press Enter
6. Type cle, press Enter
7. Type convert mbr, press Enter (do this step if you previously used the GPT guide)
8. Type cre par pri align=4096 (1024 is default), press Enter
Note: If you are using multiple drives in RAID 0 use 1024 for the alignment instead of 4096 for best performance.
9. Type for quick fs=ntfs, press Enter
10. Type act, press Enter
11. Type exi, press Enter
12. Close the Command Window, and click the Install button.
13. Proceed to install Windows 7/ 8.1 and perform a normal installation using the "Custom (advanced)" type of installation. Do not format it the partitions again during the installation.
After installing windows:
- Type powercfg -h off and press enter to delete it or type powercfg -h -size 50 and press enter to shrink it
- Turn off page files, then restart windows
- Install mobo drivers
- Install newest SATA and chipset drivers
- Run windows updates
- Restart PC when required

Change power option
1. Open the Start Menu, in the search line, type Power Options and press Enter
2. Select the High performance power plan
3. Click "change plan settings"
4. Click "change advanced power settings"
5. Expand the Hard disk option and change setting to "never"
6. Expand the Sleep option and change setting to "never"
7. Click OK

Check to see if the TRIM command is being issued
1. Open the Start Menu, type CMD
2. Right click the icon and Run as Administrator
3. Type fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify
DisableDeleteNotify = 1 (Windows TRIM commands are disabled)
DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled)

Disable Prefetch and Superfetch
1. Open the Start Menu, type Services.msc, press Enter
2. Scroll down until you see the "SuperFetch" entry
3. Double-click on it, and choose "Disabled" from the list
