The game is set in a procedurally generated universe where the community must fight three different enemy species to ensure the survival of fictional Super Earth. Gameplay takes place on one of several procedurally-generated open world missions where players must accomplish a series of objectives. The players are required to make their own decisions, where to deploy, in what order objectives should be completed and when to call down certain pieces of equipment, referred to as stratagems within the game. Before missions the players select from a wide variety of weapons, perks and stratagems to accomplish their objectives.

Multiplayer
As with Arrowhead Game Studios's previous title Magicka friendly fire, the ability to harm teammates, is always on and there is no way to disable the feature. This requires the players to carefully plan their actions during the games many chaotic combat sequences.

Difficulty
When the game was shown during Gamescom 2013 the game's difficulty included three levels: Challenging, Hard, or "Hell Dive".

The build presented at E3 2014 and Gamescom 2014 however indicated there to be more than 9 difficulties, depending on which planet the player chose.

not sure bout the price but this game is psn exclusive so i dun think there will be hard copy for it..

its a typo, in actuality its only about 1+gb on ps vita.

the multiplayer is very smooth with no lag even when using Yes 4g to play.

Its funny when friendly fire is always on, and your teammate's pod or resource pod will kill you if you walked underneath the beacon when its dropped. Even walking in the way of your teammate's mech will get yourself stomped to death

There's events too when you're called to defend a location (either the ones captured or defending Super Earth when the aliens pushed in). I just completed 2 missions in this event before starting work, the hordes of cyborgs, so intense lol.

Weird its smooth for me. Home wifi and Yes 4G also smooth in multiplayer.

there was definitely slowdown happening when playing 4 player multiplayer. must be the framerate that's tanking

This game is really good. It's very similar to Destiny in the sense that the weapons have great feedback when shooting them and the higher level content require good coordination in the team to tackle them.

I'm up to level 16 now. Looking for people to roll with on the higher difficulties but I'm also open to help people out on the medium ones. The sooner you unlock good stratagems the quicker you can try out the harder levels.

I feel like this game is a little under the radar over here but that's a shame because it lives and dies with its community so more people should play this game. Jury's still out on whether this reaches awesome levels as I haven't reached the endgame content but there's a hell of a lotta promise.

Lvl9-ish at the moment

I've put 13 hours since buying the game on Thursday. It's been some time since I've been hooked onto a game like this. The moment-to-moment gameplay is a lot of fun and at times hilarious. Case in point: I joined a random multiplayer game yesterday and dropped right onto the host, accidentally killing him. After calling in a reinforce for him, I somehow wandered under his dropping ammo resupply and got crushed by that. Then finally as were finishing up the mission, both crawling on the ground bleeding from enemy fire, the extraction shuttle came and landed right on us, squishing us like bugs. We failed the mission. GOTY.

Nope, but I'll hop on tonight for a few games. First we'll get that APV, and then we'll grab the second vehicle!

I'm able to see friends online fine, just that not enough of them are playing this game! I've heard people with large friends lists facing this issue, hopefully that'll get fixed soon. I just so happened to cull my own list down to a manageable size last week so didn't face any issue.

lol me and my buddy tried to two man difficulty 9 mission for the Illuminates. Boy, how we run like hell every time we get spotted and then get squashed whenever some random guy comes in. Priceless. Only sad thing is i am experiencing error which results the game crashing. Other than that really fun co-op game.

I joined random lvl 6 mp game with 2 lvl 12 guy and 1 lvl 17 guy.. what a game!!
we go to snowy bug planet.. at first the mission was smooth, need to defend a missile launcher. then we need to destroy the bug nest. what a nightmare... suddenly come a giant tanker bug out of nowhere and wipe 3 of us. the other guy left behind has to run away from swarm of bugs and when snow, the movement get really slow. before he die, he manage to revive the dead back and we manage to kill the giant. then, another giant came out. dead again, revive again. after pop out the giant, we manage to summon the bomb for the nest and activate it then run like hell. but the bomb already destroyed by the swarm near the nest. return back, we summon 2 bomb this time and i used the walker robot to counter the giant. the giant managed to kill me inside the walker. luckily the bomb this time activated on time and the swarm busy targeting us forgot about it. we manage to escape with one dead. one of the team decide to summon APV and we go to next objective to retrieve a black box. the black box need one people on the ground so we escort him using APV. this time we thought we gonna succeed this mission but it was very wrong.. another swarm wait for us at the bunker and another war happen. try to escape with APV but APV get destroyed. finally, left one guy (lvl 17) and suddenly.... another giant. he got killed. mission failed....

tl dr;
we go on mission. we failed. this game deserved 10/10

I haven't experienced any crashes yet, but I did get booted out to main menu when it shows "host is migrating" message. Then I can't relogin until I reconfigure my PS4 network settings again.

Just now, my screen turned black after the mission report screen. I can hear the in-game NPC announcing mission starting in x seconds, but I can't see anything.

I quit and now unable to login online mode.

Omg this effing mission.

Edit: repeated the damn Illuminate mission three times with SilverCrimz, wiping twice at the extraction point. That reversed controller really sucks. Moved on to the Cyborg planet to unlock the Shredder; that went better though it still took us an hour. Couldn't have done it without voice coordination. Those parts really remind me of Destiny raids.

My game crashed one time when boarding the shuttle in a level 9 game, wasted 15 minutes of my life

haha that was awesome. Voice communication is needed for any game that does co-op.

I gone through it several times. The game doesnt have much game breaking bugs but it does still have few things to iron out and improve. Namely matchmaking as well as the network stability. I really do wish they add a way to invite friends manually instead of relying just on the MP menu and also i hope they will implement a way where i can resume a game if get disconnected instead of me hoping to find it in the Matchmaking tab. Currently using the Friends tab is not working for me

Game play very nice but the most frustrated part is always drop out from the match (lost connection) when loading the mission. Hope they can improved on it. Nice game playing with u guys, I guess we must have party chat to further communicate.

Kind of sick of randoms that like to kill team-mates & laugh or matchmaking that take forever then boot you to main screen.

yes but it will be very difficult for higher levels...

on easy you can finish levels without firing a shot.
on harder difficulties, run like hell and be sure to practice your dpad commands

Eh early disclaimer sorry if my drop-pod or resupply items kill any of you guys in the future. It's a total accident, i promise! They do need to look into making the drop hexes a bit more noticeable, those things are so deadly.

I stopped playing this morning after a few missions where the guy kicked everyone on the team a few seconds before the shuttle arrived. Spend all that time, zero rewards. Love the game but randoms are making it ridiculous.

i dunno i kinda like the fact that you can die so easily when you're not paying attention. Had quite a fair share of those. haha!

reminds me of a match I had with some of my friends a couple of days ago, 3 of us were already in.. so brought along a forth, B, who came in midway with his drop pod.
coming in, his drop pod fell on and instantly killed A...we revived A, who threw a turret beacon, and it dropped on B instantly killing him!
B came back, and the drop pod he was coming back in killed A again

in another match, we were finishing off the level,fending off the bugs while waiting for the shuttle when B came in late, lobbed a grenade randomly and killed A just as the shuttle arrived

All complete accidents, but good times

I figured out a way to solo up to level 10

This method seems to work well too if you wanna farm samples. go for lvl 4's if you wanna do that. I clock in about 7-8 minutes for 8 samples per run. Pretty sweet.

Good games tonight playing with Inkyoctopuss and randoms. Except for that one guy who was throwing grenades at people and didn't seem to know how to reinforce.

I had to bail, but what a mess that last extraction was. That was the first time I was in a game where everyone alive missed the shuttle. One entry was blocked by enemies, and by the time we rounded past the wing of the other side the shuttle had taken off. Had to retreat and regroup as the extraction zone was getting swarmed with cyborgs and tanks. Second try went a lot smoother though. Good times.

Glitch Wipes Save Data When Controller Dies

En ya, just saw the news at kotaku. Last night while playing my controller low battery with the notification came out. Lucky on time to plug the cable. Fuhhhh if my data wipe out I guess will gonna rage! Haha

Happened to me actually when I took the controller too far away from the console. When I got back in range and pressed the PS button I saw my weapon & stratagem unlocks suddenly disappear and my character level back to level 1. I quickly shut off the game before it could sync the save. Thankfully after restarting the game all unlocks and levels were restored so crisis averted.

Do be mindful folks and don't let your controller die, desync, or idle (it will go into power-saving) or you might lose your progress until they patch the problem.

i think it happened to me when i was in training..
i clicked home button and check sth on the xmb and surf net with my phone ..
then went back the game and the training is start again..

it's triple cross buy so buy on any system, get it for vita, ps3, ps4
