i just turned 18 couple of days ago, weight is 46kg and height 168. im seriously underweight as you can see. but my body doesnt look like im underweight. im planning to gain some weight and start bodybuilding. but the problem is, i only eat when im hungry and always skipping breakfast, coz breakfast make my tummy aches  cry.gif  cry.gif im the sportsman type and likes to exercise, but no regular routine though. last week went to some camp for a week and ate 6 times a day, gain 3 kg. but when i stop eating 6 times a day my weight dropped to 45kg again. planning to take supplements like appleton weightgain or some other products.

well word of advise how i might gain weight and shud i take the weightgain product?
*
i bold the important part...you dont need weight gainers if you can maintain 6 quality meals a day smile.gif

Hey, guys. I'm about 168-170cm and 50kg. I think I've been so for the past 4-5 years. I won't say I'm a big eater, but I think eat pretty frequently (though I'm one of those "ectomorphs" who doesn't have an appetite most of the time) but I'm still finding it hard to gain weight.

Only recently did I decide to do something about it, eating 4-5 meals a day, watching the nutritions, taking weight gain supplements and I'm not sure whether it's water weight but according to the scale, I've gained 1.5-2kgs in a week.

I eat 2 hardboiled eggs for breakfast along with a serving of cereal, I usually take two drumsticks and two egg whites with rice for lunch, I usually have another meal before dinner (something like cereal, nuts, seeds, corn- whatever high calorie and protein food I can find, anyway), have a moderate dinner much like my lunch, probably something from McD's for supper and I drink 2 self-blended milshakes a day (blended with protein powder, banana, milk, ice cream and soy protein). I also drink almost a litre of milk a day and more or less the same for water.

Also, I'm a naturally athletic person... I play futsal 2-3 times a week, though I haven't really begun on the weightlifting yet. Oh, and also... I smoke one pack a day, drink every weekend and i'm abit of an insomniac. But basically, the reason I haven't really started lifting weights is because of my skinny and slightly bony frame.

My question here is... is it a good idea to begin weightlifting when you're still all skin and bones? Or is it better to gain mass first?

Am I eating right? I know ectomorphs have high meta, so should I raise my calorie intake even higher?

Any input from you guys would be appreciated, thanks.

your diet seems ok BUT
stop the smoking la...lolll....smoking kills your appetite, and imsonia? try to sleep more, at least 6-8 hours,
just start to weight lift, dont be so afraid, i was 40kg b4, so go figure....lolll laugh.gif
even though more people bigger and heavier than me at my gym, i can lift same @ heavier than them tongue.gif

Hi, I'm sorry for what I will say in the following.

I think you are using the wrong method for gaining weight.
You know, we only can take min 1 egg per day for an adult (as what I read), too much of egg = too much of cholesterol will b taking into your body.

You need to "troubleshoot" your body basic functionality especially digestion system before going for gaining weight, otherwise, I think you are building fat but not muscle as you want.

I'm sorry to say that cause I can see this is wrong method in gaining weight. I'm really sorry if it's hurts you.

i can say his diet better than yours unsure.gif

I wana ask a noob question....

Weight Gainers like TRUE MASS is more needed to gain weight or Whey protein like On 100% ???

Please answer...I will really appreciate it... thanks.
*
True Mass > On 100% Whey.
why? you need more calories to gain weight, WG provide you the easy way to gain ADDITIONAL calories on top of your real food smile.gif
notice that it is additional only, means you still need real food smile.gif

Brother Bata,

Meaning If I want to build my body, I will be better of with Weight Gainers rather than Whey protein like ON's ?
*
same as bro kenyi, if you think can eat enough calories, you're fine with whey
i prefer weight gainers coz....its easy la...loll laugh.gif
you need to remember in order to gain weight, you need calories above your BMR rate smile.gif

but remember fruits is high in sugar and most of the calories comes from sugar....
go for more protein(whey) and carb

wow....you sure did quite some of reading eh brows.gif

Hi lcsum, sugar fruits @ fructose is NOT equivalent with the normal sugar. It's natural & are easily assimilated & digested by our body. Are you aware that even diabetics are also encouraged to take fruits? (according to my nutritionist)

Protein source? Healthy ones would be organic sprirulina (it's also being consumed by body builders) Can learn more at http://ezymeal.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=70
*
he's pointing that no use take sugars for added calories, yes you want some calories, but protein will be better(building materials)
