Hey, guys. I'm about 168-170cm and 50kg. I think I've been so for the past 4-5 years. I won't say I'm a big eater, but I think eat pretty frequently (though I'm one of those "ectomorphs" who doesn't have an appetite most of the time) but I'm still finding it hard to gain weight.
Only recently did I decide to do something about it, eating 4-5 meals a day, watching the nutritions, taking weight gain supplements and I'm not sure whether it's water weight but according to the scale, I've gained 1.5-2kgs in a week.
I eat 2 hardboiled eggs for breakfast along with a serving of cereal, I usually take two drumsticks and two egg whites with rice for lunch, I usually have another meal before dinner (something like cereal, nuts, seeds, corn- whatever high calorie and protein food I can find, anyway), have a moderate dinner much like my lunch, probably something from McD's for supper and I drink 2 self-blended milshakes a day (blended with protein powder, banana, milk, ice cream and soy protein). I also drink almost a litre of milk a day and more or less the same for water.
Also, I'm a naturally athletic person... I play futsal 2-3 times a week, though I haven't really begun on the weightlifting yet. Oh, and also... I smoke one pack a day, drink every weekend and i'm abit of an insomniac. But basically, the reason I haven't really started lifting weights is because of my skinny and slightly bony frame.
My question here is... is it a good idea to begin weightlifting when you're still all skin and bones? Or is it better to gain mass first?
Am I eating right? I know ectomorphs have high meta, so should I raise my calorie intake even higher?
Any input from you guys would be appreciated, thanks.
your diet seems ok BUT
stop the smoking la...lolll....smoking kills your appetite, and imsonia? try to sleep more, at least 6-8 hours,
just start to weight lift, dont be so afraid, i was 40kg b4, so go figure....lolll

even though more people bigger and heavier than me at my gym, i can lift same @ heavier than them

Hi, I'm sorry for what I will say in the following.
I think you are using the wrong method for gaining weight.
You know, we only can take min 1 egg per day for an adult (as what I read), too much of egg = too much of cholesterol will b taking into your body.
You need to "troubleshoot" your body basic functionality especially digestion system before going for gaining weight, otherwise, I think you are building fat but not muscle as you want.
I'm sorry to say that cause I can see this is wrong method in gaining weight. I'm really sorry if it's hurts you.
i can say his diet better than yours
