Morning.
Don't worry, I'm not going to post anything that will steer anyone to leave the religion or whatever. I had just decided to greet because I have emotional ties for being a Christian in the past, that is all. And I was curious about Catholicism when I was a Protestant Christian in the past. Hello.
May I kindly ask if there any rules I should adhere to in order to ensure what I post here would be acceptable? Thank you for your time. |

Genuine question:
What is your (Catholics) advice to Protestant Christians who think that the Catholic faith is not in accordance to the bible? |

QUOTE(yeeck @ Nov 27 2016, 10:00 PM) For those heretics who deny the necessity of works of faith, hear the words of Our Lord: Wait a minute. Are you saying that Protestant Christians are heretics?31And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty. 32And all nations shall be gathered together before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats: 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left. 34Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in: 36Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. 37Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and covered thee? 39Or when did we see thee sick or in prison, and came to thee? 40And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me. 41Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink. 43I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you covered me not: sick and in prison, and you did not visit me. 44Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee? 45Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me. 46And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting. |

QUOTE(advocado @ May 6 2017, 11:00 PM) a kind reminder is for those that goes to Churches with parking issue, please do be considered when parking illegal on side of the road and ensure minimal blockage on the traffic. Off-topic. I believe what you're referring to is more of a civic-sense issue, and has nothing to do with the religion itself. You may have to open a new topic to highlight that your reminder.thx for ur kind cooperation. This post has been edited by Hoka Nobasho: May 7 2017, 03:11 PM |

QUOTE(yeeck @ May 14 2017, 10:20 PM) This post has been shared at the LYN Atheist and & Agnostic thread for people to take a look at it.It's an old miracle that has been long debunked, and the article was committing a huge Argument from Ignorance or Personal Incredulity fallacy, in addition to the argumentum ad populum fallacy. QUOTE(yeeck @ May 14 2017, 11:55 PM) On the contrary, I have read the article, pointed out the logical fallacies, and the video shown was to show how miracles, in general, are never good arguments to prove anything in regards to the existence of god nor anything that resembles the notion of divine providence or intervention. And since that article was about atheists, would you like to bring your thoughts into the LYN Atheist and Agnostics thread? I would rather show some respect to this thread as I understand it isn't specifically a place for debates held for theists and atheists alike. QUOTE(yeeck @ May 15 2017, 04:53 PM) On the contrary, I still think that you haven't read the article because you claimed "It's an old miracle that has been long debunked", yet what you posted above did not address Fatima specifically at all. That's only because you may have conveniently glanced past the logical fallacies that I have pointed out and my explanation of why the video was posted in the first place. I did not put them in detail because I understand this thread isn't meant for debates.Would you like to repost that in the LYN Ahtheist & Agnostics thread so that a debate can commence over there instead of over here? I will address the article directly with details if you wish, but like I said, not in this thread. This is a thread of fellowship among Catholics, no? So let's not turn it into another platform for a debate, lest I'll forget my manners and ended up interrupting the peace here. This post has been edited by Hoka Nobasho: May 15 2017, 07:04 PM |
