Just bought the Ringke tempered glass screen protector for my Galaxy Watch 42mm and I must say I'm impressed. Works great.
I've got a few extra as there was a few in the packet. Let me know if anyone wants one. I'm selling for cheap. |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Apr 14 2019, 10:01 PM) Thanks bros I use the 42mm version. Confirm can ... look a bit silly talking to my watch though. I only use it to impress my nephews/nieces.Reason being the Galaxy Watch here doesn't have LTE support from our telcos that's why only the bluetooth version is being sold. So wanted to make sure the BT version can make/receive calls as well. Thanks again! |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Apr 14 2019, 10:45 PM) Hows the battery life for your 42mm btw? I guess the 42mm suits smaller hands better.. Take note that I'm a light user of the watch i.e. use it to notify me of who's calling, check my schedule, limited notifications and the occasional calculator/stopwatch.Here's my dilemma, I wanted to get a standalone smartwatch (that can make calls by itself) as a gift for my dad but the choices are so scarce. The only one I thought of was the Huawei Watch 2 which was supported by eSIM Maxis a while ago but there's non support now. Maxis and XOX eSIM only supports the iPhones for now... There are other older smartwatches like the Samsung Gear S3 or the LG Urbane but their battery life is horrible just like the Huawei Watch 2. Need something with at least 3-5 days battery life and the ability to make/receive calls. Have been looking around but couldn't find anything so have to resort to getting a smartwatch with bluetooth connection to the phone. From my experience with my own MiBand 3, Bluetooth 4.2 connection gets cut off easily when I'm only several metres away (with a door in between) even thought BT 4.2 is rated at 50m range. I don't receive e-mail or whatsapp notifications on the watch. Based on the above usage, the watch lasts me around 2 full days before I need to charge. You'd probably get double the life on the 46mm version. |

QUOTE(briantwj @ Apr 21 2019, 12:08 PM) Hmm torn between Galaxy Watch Active and Huawei Watch GT. Late reply but better late than never. Both have built in gps. Also my first smartwatch. Which one would u guys recommend? I do jog and swim a bit. Seems like both kinda fit my requirements. I'd say it depends on the ecosystem you're in i.e. are you using a Samsung or Huawei phone? Naturally, I use a Samsung phone so getting a Samsung watch was the logical thing to do. I've got to say that based on experience, it has been pretty good with no missed notifications, dropped calls, etc. Edit to add that if size is a concern, then the Galaxy Watch Active would be the better choice. Just got the One UI update for my Galaxy Watch 42mm.
Overall, looks nicer and more comfortable to read. I'll comment on battery life in a day or two. |

QUOTE(dayamin @ Aug 7 2019, 09:37 AM) I too am looking forward to this. I'm pretty much set on purchase as it ticks all the right boxes:1. Smaller and thinner than my current Galaxy Watch 42mm 2. Speaker so you can take notes and answer calls from the watch 3. Comes in silver I'm pretty much an office monkey so would like something more subtle than my current Galaxy Watch. Let's hope it's reasonably priced. |

QUOTE(samsungXP @ Aug 9 2019, 11:29 AM) My mistake, you can answer calls but what I meant was that you can't talk to people on the Watch Active. The call will be transferred to the connected phone.https://www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-d...y-watch-active/ |

QUOTE(Theoutspokenguy @ Aug 10 2019, 10:32 AM) U can answer the calls but it will ask you continue on your phone while Samsung s3 frontier u can continue the conversation on the watch itself Yup, that was my point and the main reason why I didn't change to the original Active despite preferring the smaller form factor.Really excited to see that the Active 2 will incorporate this feature. |

QUOTE(Theoutspokenguy @ Aug 10 2019, 01:18 PM) Same I stick with my s3 frontier for the same reason I'll probably get the 40mm version in stainless steel and leather. I'm currently using the 42mm Galaxy Watch and there are times when it looks out of place in an office environment. It's quite thick as well and sometimes can't fit under shirt cuffs. When you are wearing it looks like an ordinary watch not a smart watch. Active 2 also not for me it looks like a sport watch As long as the price is reasonable, I'll be getting one. |
