Any review user for GT2?
*
Just got my gt2 last Thursday, so here's my take:

Love:
Absolute gorgeous design
Swiping from bezel to screen feels nice (without screen protector)
Love the home screen layout from activity record to media control screen, nicely done
Great fitness tracker, haven't tested it extensively yet
GPS built-in and tracks quite accurate
All time heart rate tracking seems reliable
Sleep tracking performs admirably well and sleep stats and recommendation are great
Huawei health app can sync to Google fit
Speaker is great and quite a handful one for people who always on the road driving (for hansfree)
Mic works quite well, other party on phone call can hear me well
Aod looks nice
Insane battery life
Magnetic charging dock very snappy
Responsive raise-to-wake

Hate:
Slanting bezel makes center display prone to scratches or worse
Low fps, laggy compared to competitors. Even my nearly five year old LG Urbane (broke in June) feels more fluid
Doesn't really handle notification well (duplicates, cleared messages keep reappearing sometimes, clearing any notification won't clear the notifications on counterpart device)
Huawei health has to sync manually to Google fit, heart rate won't sync afaik
Only two aods are available and raise-to-wake is disabled if aod is turned on, also battery is halved with aod on
Limited watch face
Limited apps
Very limited customisation
No third party apps supported
No wireless charging
Charging Dock is white colored which I don't really like, black would have been much better I think
Huawei Lite OS is lacking compared to other OS

My rating: 7/10
Do I recommend this to others? Its both yes and no

Despite the whole lot shortcomings, I really really like the watch.

For the watch face, u join the facebook gt2 group. They teach you to how to get really nice watch face.
As for the duplicate notification, i get that for my huawei band 3 too. Have to dismiss from the phone or else it keeps coming back.

Mind sharing the link for the group please? There are so many groups and it got me confused 😅️

To me, GT2 is far smoother than GT.

I don't have issue with GT2 nor even GT.

Good to know GT2 is smoother than GT. I'm a very happy and satisfied GT2 user here.

Hi,
1.  can I know if GT 2 has open water swimming?
2. What is the difference btwn open water and pool swimming?
3. For pool swimming, does it allow the use of GPS to track the distance or is it based on preset pool length?
4. For pool swimming, can you set custom pool length? I saw on review you can only choose 25m or 50m pool.
5. How do you find the accuracy of the GPS for outdoor runs? I wanted to get Amazfit GTR because it's RM300 cheaper but many online reviews say the GPS sucks.

TQVM
*
1. Yes it has open water swimming.
2. Open water swimming has GPS feature but there's an advice from the watch saying "GPS will not work under water. Make sure to raise your hand above water to track your trajectory and distance." "Segment" option for open water swimming is customisable between 100m to 1000m, with 100m increment in between. Pool swimming doesn't support GPS.
3. Unlike most workouts, pool swimming doesn't have GPS indicator upon initiating so I believe GPS is not supported (correct me if I'm wrong).
4. Default "pool length" is 25m and 50m, but u can customise it between 15m up to 60m, with 1m increment in between. Other option is "segment" where you can set it from 1 lap upto 50 laps.
5. Quite accurate, but sorry I have no idea whether if its any better than other devices. One thing for sure when GPS tracking has started, after I'm done with workout, the app on Huawei health can pin point the start and end point very accurate. The only drawback I could think of is that the GPS locking may vary from 5s upto 60s, though I find most of the time it takes about 40s or less.

How is the feel? Can give the link?
I am also trying another model. Hybrid smart watch. Of course cannot compared with GT2.

Quite ok I think but not perfect, its not a fingerprint magnet which is a good thing. On the other hand, there's like "oily-rainbow effect" on the screen protector.

huawei watch gt 2 users, I'm interested in this but I noticed it doesn't have "pending notifications" indicator at the watch face. I'm wondering isn't it annoying you always have to swipe up to see if you have pending notifications? I don't want to keep swiping up but then no notifications (sometimes I don't notice watch vibrate so I don't know if I have pending notifications). Unless you always have notifications...

Another thing I heard is the screen may not automatically light up/show the notification when it comes in? That means when you feel the vibration you need to swipe up also? Appreciate if you can share your usage/thoughts on this.
*
The watch doesn't have pending notification in the watch face like u said, users gotta live with it.

When notification comes in it won't light up, however when u raise to wake the watch it will show the latest notification until u clear it either on the the phone or the watch. U don't have to swipe up if your pending notification is only one notification. If ithe pending notification is more than one and u would like to see the second and third ones then u have to swipe.

If notification on the watch is your top priority then I guess the watch is not for u, its a bit buggy imho. Honestly speaking it was kinda annoying at first but I got used to it few days after so I'm good.

Like when u already cleared or read the notification on your phone, or on your watch or, even both, the previous notifications will come back along with the new pending notification. There's a limit though, perhaps like 5 or 6 previously read/cleared notifications. So its kinda repititive.

Thanks very much for the info, I read/watched all the reviews but couldn't find info on this. If I understand you correctly, if you have one or more pending notifications, the default screen becomes the last notification forever until you swipe it away/press top button? It won't return to the watch face after some time? If this is the case, not having notification pending indicator is not that bad. Only thing is that can't see the time without swiping.

May I know what phone are you using it with? I'm wondering if the notification bugs you mentioned is OS-specific.

Other than this issue, this watch is perfect for my usage and budget. Hopefully they fix it in sw update. This watch is selling quite well also I think, I parked one in shopee cart then it sold out.
*
My deepest apologies, before the time of writing of the last message, the notification won't go away and it becomes the default screen until I swipe the notification away either on the phone or on the watch like what u understand.

But today took my time and try it again, raise-to-wake the watch and the default screen becomes the last pending notification (expanded), followed by putting down the watch to dim the watch display, raise-to-wake again but this time the default screen is the watch face, not the last pending notification. I'd have to swipe it up to read the pending notification again.

This totally contradicts to what I explained on my previous message. Its kinda hit and miss 😫️. I'm sorry again seems like my info is misleading. I can't seem to pin it down how the notification works exactly on this watch 😭️🙏️

I'm using Samsung note 8 with lineage OS 16 ROM

QUOTE(turtlezz @ Nov 2 2019, 12:44 PM)
Nono, no apologies needed. I really appreciate your feedback as this info cannot be found anywhere else. Actually I don't think this contradicts what you said earlier:
- When there is new notification, but before the screen is turned on for the first time since the notification came in, the default screen is the last notification.
- When the screen is turned on, the notifications are considered read but not cleared. The default screen goes back to the watch face, but the notifications are still stored in the notification area (swipe up screen).
- Notifications should be cleared from the notification area when swiped away and should not appear again (but you mentioned there are bugs).

Meaning, when you have new notifications, the first time the screen turns on, the last notification is shown. After that, the watch face is shown. I assume that if you have new notifications after that but you haven't swiped away the old one, the next time the screen turns on, the latest notification is shown, but all notifications including the old one are still in the notification area.

Actually this makes me tempted to get it now, as this is somewhat ok for the missing notification indicator issue. There are just 2 minor side effects:
- When there are new notifications but you want to see the time instead, the first screen you see is the last notification instead of the watch face, but you can just bring down your wrist to turn off the screen and up again and now you will see the watch face.
- If the screen turns on unintentionally (you move your hand around without looking at the watch but the watch interpret as the wake gesture), you miss the last notification screen/"new notification screen". The default screen then goes back to the watch face the next time you intentionally check and you will not know you have pending notifications unless you swipe up or have new ones after that.
*
Yes, it is exactly what u said. I'm really glad u get the whole picture despite my poor explanation lol.

There's also one situation where when the last notification comes in and the watch is left unwake for a certain period of time, upon waking up for the first time since the last notification comes in, it will show watch face instead. I cannot guess that "certain period of time" though.

Sorry Ive only tried the one that I provided the link to u last time, haven't tried others. Mine so far so good though its fiberglass and not tempered glass, and I don't even know the difference between the two too lol

i think the question of the glass itself is, how hard and durable it is? If the knock is hard or the watch drop or something, it break instantly, i think its common. the issue is, one fine morning, i was about wearing it and saw the crack line. i tot my eyes were blur.. haha..

u guys can call up the service centre and can pretend to ask if the glass is broken, can repair or not. i am not even talking about asking the kiamsap huawei to give warranty...

i asked the customer service that i want to talk to someone else to confirm.. .then few hours later, some idiot called back. sounds like a manager, and say the same thing.. oh well.
*
Sorry about your watch and that's some terribly frustrating experience u had. How come the after sales service has become that disappointing. Pls let us know how it goes should u get it fixed.

Bro, wanna ask when your phone rings, will your GT2 watch shows which sim is ringing? Cause mine don't.

Sorry my phone only uses one SIM, so i can't tell if the watch is able to show which sim the calls are from. Tbh I highly doubt the watch is able to do so, I stand corrected though.
