I think it depends on how you perceive the looks and price. Personally I will stay away, and stick to those from Motorola/Huawei/LG as they have much more experience with electronic design and software. Yes, Google control OS but manufacturers still put in their own apps and watchfaces, just my 2 cents 

its not bad, but its already one generation behind since no speaker... plus only expected to reach Malaysia sep/oct...can say gg to it.
imo just stick to manufacturers that do google stuff... so asus / lg / huawei... and htc if they decide to join the android wear race.
they all sure get advanced info on whats coming as is evident on their watches all with speakers months before the firmware was released.

if not urgent better just wait til end of the yr when major guys all should be using proper smartphone processors instead of currently ancient handphone tech.
so should be smaller and more efficient etc.

Personally I dont care even if Gear 2 sell at RM800 or lower.

Moto 360 2 at around 1399 price. Zenwatch 2 roughly half of the price only. Add a bit can get Huawei Watch ( with gemfive/lazada discount, it can go lower than 1399 )

You can try change the language to chinese & try speak mandarin of ur friends name or even hong kong chinese maybe can speak cantonese?  Nothing perfect in the device firmware. But running latest 6.0.1 should be ok already.  Give their developer some time to fix. :-)

P.S:/ I am using Malaysia English and google understand my language voice command send text message to WhatsApp when I am driving. Bravo watch! Compared to useless and most expensive Huawei Watch and Tag Heuer!
