QUOTE(rayzrblade @ Jan 15 2017, 01:32 PM) Huawei watch your ultimate choice. Cool. Thanks mate. Before I check it out since apparently you know lots about this device, what's the latest iteration of this brand and where can I get it at the lowest possible price?View chat conversations, stickers, photos, reply with voice 30seconds for wechat.. It's the best On a side note, any current brands that have a built in camera along with my requirements? Thanks. |

QUOTE(singgung @ Feb 11 2017, 12:48 PM) Waiting for AW 2.0 to see how much better it is. My ZW2 is currently staying put in the watch case as I'm wearing GS3 much much more. That rotating bezel is a pleasure to use. Sometimes i just rotate it for no reason. Another thing that i wish we can have is the ability to pre-program one of the buttons so that we can click it to select, instead of rotate, then touch to select. Seems like a disconnect there. But that's nitpicking. Lol. Based on your comments and your experience with more than one smart watch, can I consult you?I am in the market for a smart watch and though I have read up a fair bit, I cannot find the answer to my queries. Currently I am using an iPhone 7Plus. However, the intention is to go back to an Android phone soon. And that's the reason I did not buy an Apple Watch yet though the urge is strong. My primary needs are, from the phone : 1 Calls 2 Messages 3 WhatsApp 4 WeChat 5 Golf Yardage 6 Built-in GPS 7 LTE Actually a built-in camera would be excellent but I know these days there aren't any with that. Which smart watch(s) is /are suitable which is/are also compatible with iPhones Your input is appreciated. This post has been edited by PeeEl: Feb 14 2017, 11:06 AM |

QUOTE(singgung @ Feb 15 2017, 02:27 AM) As far as I know both Android Wear and Tizen are compatible with iphones but the features are pretty limited. I know people who pair Pebble with iphone and they have nothing but praises, at least until before the latest software update. But then again pebble is as good as dead now. Thanks a bunch, mate. Very informative. I'm going for Note8 if and when it comes out or S8, if the former is delayed. That's why I am not looking at an Apple iWatch. And that's the reason I am targeting at Android watches to consider. The iPhone is in the interim as Note7 was screwed up big time.As for my experience, I'm using Gear S3 and Zenwatch 2, paired with galaxy S6 and from your list I can only comment on items 1, 2, 3 and 6. I dont use wechat or play golf and I believe LTE is not yet supported here and I have no interest in it anyway. Calls - Both can make & answer calls. They have speaker which are decent enough if you are using them in quiet environments or while driving. Or you can use bluetooth headphones. Calls can be initiated by going through Contact list in the watch itself, or by voice command. From my experience, ZW2 and Google are better in picking up voice commands and they sync or learn my own contact list so that I have no problem making a call even if the names in my contact list are local names. GS3 and Tizen are kind of useless in this aspect. S-voice is slow in picking up commands and unless the names in my contact list are 'mat salleh' sounding or 'mom' or 'dad', making a call with voice command can be frustrating. Messages - I rarely use messages but it is pretty straight forward in both of them. Notifications are received almost immediately, and you can start a message using the watch. Just like making call, you scroll through contact list or initiate by voice command. The difference here is the messages input. AW is strictly by voice command with just a few preset common sentences or words and some smileys, while Tizen can be by voice or finger typing on the watch which is really not that bad. At least on the GS3 screen size. I pretty much prefer the options with GS3 as it is more discreet with typing. I won't be able to reply with voice command in a meeting. Lol. AW 2.0 will have the option to type on the watch though. - ZW2 & AW - Can read all the chats that come in, and some earlier chats. Reply, initiate and messages input are just like messages. Can't view photos or listen to voice notes. - GS3 & Tizen - I dont know if its intentional or because there's no official support from whatsapp, most of the times only the last line of the chats can be read from notifications. So if a chat ends with smileys or 'hahaha' I have to pick up my phone to check the earlier messages. There's an app that allow us to read all the chats that come in but it's a paid app. It's ok for an alternative. Can use voice command or finger typing to reply to messages that come in, but I haven't find a way to start a whatsapp message. I dont know if other users know how to. Can't view photos or listen to voice notes too though there are some 3rd party paid apps that can make them possible. GPS - ZW2 - I believe there's no built-in GPS but if it is paired to your phone with location switched on, it will transmit the location to the watch. - GS3 - it is ok for the few times that I tried it but it did warn me to avoid trees and go to unobstructed path to get signals. Lol. Not a problem to track a run or jog. But if u want to navigate, I haven't find a good app for that yet. The ones that I tried are lousy. That's all I can help. Other users with different watches or phones might have different experience as within AW itself there are plenty of watches with different specs or features. While in the case of GS3, as I'm using it with samsung phone I can utilise the watch to its full capabilities. Pairing it with other android phones might result in different experience. I suppose I have to do more homework. Perhaps other forummers can shed some light on the WeChat feature as I do use that quite a fair bit. Cheers and thanks again for your input. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 15 2017, 09:13 PM) It's a 'good to have' not a 'must have' as sometimes without the phone you could still use the functions. Does Garmin have the other relevant features of the other smart watches? |

QUOTE(codenchips @ Aug 15 2017, 09:31 PM) Ahh...was looking for a Ticwatch S & E Owner's Thread v1. Found this one instead. Good write up but you should compare it with smartwatches of the same calibre like for example, Lemfo and other similar ones.I recently wrote an article on my early thoughts on the Ticwatch S&E. I included a table of hardware specs comparison between Ticwatch S&E with the top smartwatches in the market. Go check it out! My Early Thoughts on Ticwatch S & E |

QUOTE(codenchips @ Aug 17 2017, 08:20 PM) Thanks bro. This article was intended to compare with smartwatches of higher-end segment to show that Ticwatches are comparable. Haha. I wasn't aware of other smartwatches of the same caliber. Lemfo looks packed with features as well. Other than Lemfo what else do you recommend comparing to? There's another one similar to Lemfo save for the outlook. Cannot recall the name. I was eyeing those 2 due to the fact that they have in-built cameras. And so much cheaper than the branded ones. |
