the gear s2 is very smooth for the navigation and stock apps. I do read in the other forum if the apps do open alot in the background, it will slow down the watch. Actually i did not have this problem but i do facing some bugs in the software before the first update.

I really like the navigation ring and user interface. the screen is very beautiful and bright. i do not have any problem with the display under sun light. I do like the S health app also.The battery is also last around 2 day.
the biggest cons of gear s2 is the S-voice (If you like to talk to your watch). i find it not so accurate recognize my voice. The other biggest cons is the availability of third parties apps as you stated. It is generally new watch and new tizen interface for the watch. the third parties apps support may get better as time goes by. this one have to wait and see. I think these two aspects android wear is way better than gear s2.

I dont have much complaint about the apps available for gear s2 since it is only got 1.2inch screen, more complicate task you do want to use your phone anyway. But i do like to have a rss reader or podcast apps and opera mini for quick searching the web. hopefully these apps will be available soon.

I read that if you have a non-samsung phone, you dont have paid apps only free app available in the gear store.

it's all about what is your intention of wearing a smartwatch in the first place.

1. for your own syiokolicious / u die die need a notification device to alert you at all time without taking out ur phone all the time just to check any sort of notification.

2. to show off to others

if u wear it just merely to show off to other people, then you are shallow, bcox smart watch is nothing to shout about nowadays. if for own syioking session... why not and what is wrong with the watch face being turn off? u can set to always on if you want.. perhaps few hours of battery life before next recharge.

Actually my most wanted is Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch, that one really can show off. Haha!

But I am not that rich to get Tag Heuer yet. Haha!

I think no differences, but build quality, screen quality, size maybe ? If dont consider those, then 1st ever AW aka G watch should be popular consider price was low, yet not one wearing 

Finally my Huawei Watch arrived. 

Ya surprisingly fast!

The watch build is solid. Really like it. For me it is the most nicest smartwatch now after the Tag Heuer Connected.

It got normal watch weight. Really solid build.

Huawei and Moto both using much standard 42mm. Samsung one slightly smaller.

Smoothness wise no issue for either.

Huawei probably soon will have display to test. Moto definitely nope.

Actually nearly all smartwatch using same processor (except Samsung and 1st gen of Moto 360), you test either one will get the result on it performance.

The only complain on Huawei watch is the charging dock which a bit troublesome and outdated design.

I think i have better insights on the smartwatch department... being a Watch Idiot Savant aka watchfreak myself on mechanical watches. I tends to imagine with the emergence of todays' technology, what can a smartwatch actually do more to be just a device that only tells time (or perhaps, GMT function that tells time for different timezone... put aside chronograph features and etc.. i don't think you will use it in normal condition).

back to back, to sum up. I think AW has been greatly improve alot compare to when I first encountered with LG G watch previously, tonne of AW apps. can be found now compare to lastime. For sure, I'm looking towards the future of AW... but meanwhile... I still think pebble fits what I really need as of now - notification push with serious battery life.

Huawei Lowyat shop have Huawei watch. I played with it, quite nice. If only I didnt get Moto 360, definitely will buy this HW watch.

Ya Huawei shop in low yat got a few on display but the problem is u can only play with the watch face. The watches are fixed to the display stand. Lol. I almost ripped d thing off, thinking we can try it on   

- pebble time (wife taken it!!)
- gear s2 classic (my sis taken it!!)
- pebble time round (on my wrist, pairing with ip6s via BTLE n note5 via BT at the same time)

the rest sold off to friends or forumers here.

Nope, The Gear S2 is not an Android Wear device.
It only works with Samsung's smartphone, Samsung own's Touchwiz UI.

I would say other phones model beside those of Samsung's own smartphone will has less support, maybe much less feature that can sync with the phone.

Can see those comment at Google Playstore.
The apps name is "Samsung Gear".

It should work perfectly with those Samsung smartphone with Touchwiz UI, where some feature rely heavily on the Touchwiz.
