Pebble Time or Asus Zenwatch? Anyone got both to compare and review?

Personally I wont go back to Pebble ( although Steel are still sexy ), unless 5 days battery life is a must for you. For me, it doesnt matter as you're charging your phone every night, and possibly during noon, there's no hassle to charge one more gadget every night.
Big bright touch screen display on Android Wear and arguably better functionality and faster expansion/upgrade.

And given Pebble Time are plastic, I guess there's premium steel version come out right after you bought Time

You've own pebble before? Hmm.. 5 days battery life isn't really necessary, only important during travel days. Thinking to get Time and ditch my current Pebble or get Android Wear watch and keep Pebble.. RM780 for Time is kinda waste, despite all the functionality almost same like previous Pebble. Zenwatch for RM500 with minor scratch, I might go for it.

I think the Android Wear platform is much more stable, with much more content and developer support.

Also, the BT connection on the Android Wear is much more stable as compared to the Pebble. I have used the Pebble Steel before btw.

Yup, they are only 1 year old, and yet they have achieved so much in such a rapid pace.

Even during travel, charging Android Wear isnt that difficult, just need to bring charging cradle, can use other USB cable and power source, even power bank.
For the price, many Android Wear option to choose for.

Yeah, that's pretty much the reason why I need the watch to last me few days, mostly during travel day. Once I forgot to bring the cable, that's it.

Both normal and steel sold. Steel still rocking on my friend's wrist.

I might just keep it as backup. In case forgot to bring cradle, still got Pebble lasting for few days. Plus no need to update what so ever on the watch.

Coming from Pebble 1st gen (owned 2 of them), Pebble Steel (steel and black, 2 of them), LG G watch, and LG G watch R... and now Pebble Time.

If notification, outdoor visibility and battery life is all what you need out of your smartwatch, I would say pebble still hold pretty strong in this department.

How well is AW improving I don't think I need to elaborate further here, u all AW sifus ma.

Just to point out some highlight on the new Pebble Time.

- Very refreshing new user interface, very smooth animation from click to click, page to page, even on charging. Very very different from the old pebble. the 64 colors e-ink look far smoother if compare to the black/white old pebble. normally, eink display refresh rate is much much lower (like the one in the old pebble), but this one somehow seem response faster and smoother. Resolution to my knowledge is same as the old pebble, but somehow it looks much better indoor or outdoor. maybe due to the curve gorilla glass surface.

- No more feeling plasticky with Pebble Time. the bezel is metal, and the overall build of the watch is far far better than the old pebble. it's slim and sleek factor, wear very comfortable on wrist. the factory fitted rubber strap is soft and sit just nice wearing it.

- integrated microphone, where you can reply msg via the mic or take voice recording. but this feature only support android smartphone now, iOS i'm not sure when it will be implemented. (as i'm with iOS)

- Battery life can last 4-5 days based on my usage (quite heavy). mostly running misfit app. on evening time (daily) and push notification + vibrate mode for about 80-110 messages (whatsapp, emails, calendar events, sms and other notifications daily), used for whole day before sleep a quick check showing 80% battery left.

- Chinese font support issue: if you are pairing with android smartphone, you can install chines font pack, if you are pairing with iOS, then you are out of luck. but it does support emoticons (limited collections as some of the emoticon were showing in square box)


All in all, not a bad attempt for Pebble (cost just USD159), but they need to improve their application ecosystem as their app. framework is still pretty much sit below a layer iOS or AndroidOS. I think android or iOS can easily kill its ecosystem anytime if they wanted to.

Giving current my next option to try on AW devices... I will try on Sony SW3 next, heard it lasts quite a bit compare to current AW line.

Quite pity they couldn't release this like one year earlier. Kinda like their color animation, nintendo feel. Chinese font support also too late, I use it for music info display. And I kinda disappointed over it's screen/body ratio.
Pebble are too little too late

Pebble Time indeed also a great smartwatch, else their Kickstarter Project won't be successful.. but also, if we put side by site with AW, surely we'll see greatly on AW, with Google backing up. So nothing hurt, their pebble quite cheap, Time is only the new beginning.. sooner or later their price will drop..

Too bad these I'm interested either not working properly ( B&O ) or paid ( Gundam!!! )

Bought an Asus Zenwatch from a forumer, an open set but 100% not used or even wear before and price are RM100 cheaper than the retail.
Paired it with my SGS Note3 with Android Wearable installed, pretty fast and easy setup and it's pretty compatible with most of the features.
Compares to pebble, the colours are much better since it's Amoled while Pebble is using e-Paper ethnology for their incoming colour version. And of course the Pebble will have better battery life but without a touch screen features as Zenwatch does.
As for Pebble, it supports both iOS and Android where iPhone user who don't prefer for the huge price tag of iWatch will opt for it but Zenwatch can only support Android Smart Phones.
Anyway, since I just bought it and will observe the battery life for this Zenwatch to update you guys here.

i'm using pebble time, also ex-owner of lg watch, watch r, pebble steel. to me, it's different league if were to compare side by side. And correction on the OLED being used on pebble time, these are color e-paper technology, not OLED.

I think:
Pebble - more towards notifications push ONLY, other apps. are value added to make it more functional but not to compete with AW (android wear or apple watch), the only thing integrated to the new pebbleOS is the timeline feature, also the improvement of overall animated UI.

AW - aside from notification push, its actually integrated with alot of OS native app. the ecosystem is slightly open if compare to pebble. But Android wear only can pair with android devices, while apple watch for iOS users.

as if you want your smart watch to be able to support both worlds, pebble is the one to go then. unless, u just need activity tracker, then you will have plenty of choices.

My bad regarding the "OLED". Actually I really like the Pebble Steel Series which comes with the Steel Straps, the battery life is really good compares to any Android ear and iWatch. Just I prefer the touch screen features and that's why I opt for an Android Wear. As for Amoled screen, it's not a necessity for me since I just need read to read some msg or time clearly will be fairly enough. Wanted to try some China brand Android Wear at the beginning but after I saw the price tag of this ZenWatch, I thought of getting a better support from a well known brand.

Darn.. I'm really torn apart wether to buy sony smartwatch 3 or moto 360...

Anyone has experience both? Really need opinion here

Actually depends on what you do most. If you want it for fitness/sports tracking, and you use it outdoors most of the time, then go for the SW3.
