Hi sifus, I'm planning a family trip of 5 to Taiwan in 2 weeks. I need some feedback regarding my planned itinerary.

Day 1
Arrive from KUL in afternoon. Travelling around Taipei

Day 2
Day trip to Jiufen, Keelung and Yehliu Geopark

Day 3
Day trip to Yang Ming Shan and Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf

Day 4
Travel to Chiayi and Alishan (overnight in Alishan area)

Day 5
Spend morning in Alishan. Then afternoon, travel to Taichung

Day 6
Spend morning in Sun Moon Lake. Then spend rest of day in Taichung

Day 7
Travelling back to Taipei. Free and easy in Taipei

Day 8
Free and easy day in Taipei. Midnight flight back to KUL

As we are travelling free and easy, we'll mostly be commuting with Metro, Buses and Trains. Please give any suggestions on my itinerary, thanks!

Day 2 to 6 all by public transport? hmm.gif i personally feel it can be a bit time wasting and tiring as the places that u wanna go are not that near.

For eg, u planning to go Jiufen only? Shifen and the whole Pingxi area u gonna skip it?

I personally feel everything Day2-4 can be more productive

Day 3: Can include Beitou Hot Spring before Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, Shilin Night Market (Exit from Jiantan Station, not Shilin Station) & Yangmingshan Flower Festival.

At Taichung, you may want to consider visiting ....
- 921 EarthQuake Museum
- Carton King
- Summit Resort Xinshe Castle
- Lavender Cottage
- Houfeng Bikeway (at least 3~4 hours needed)

At Sun Moon Lake, you may want to consider visiting ....
- CheCheng (about 30 minutes by mini-bus)

I might be skipping Yangmingshan, as I have the same feeling that it'll be too tiring

Any suggestions on how to improve my itinerary? Thanks notworthy.gif

just visit the main area to see the flowers blooming during winter would be good enough. not that tiring. 2-3 hours only.

those "street" food are overrated
u want those real delicious food, there are alot
but what i can tell u...they're not located at those touristy places
u need to do alot of homework to locate them

for example, the rice flour noodle...most ppl will proceed to ay-chung meesua
but that is the worst place to eat it
the best one is located at long shan temple station...its a very small shop that only locals go
*
wah will take note on that. any other recommend?

ah chung mee sua, no oyster only pig intestine.

Thanks. We have 11 days in total in Taiwan and 4 day just for Taipei.

Going in a week's time so running short of time in planning for Taipei. (Trying to find which attractions are close to each other so as not to waste time travelling from places which are far from each other)

Basically, would be a trip to visit the sights, shopping and food...the usual.

So just wondering what would be the essentials to cover in 4 days. (Would like to include Beitou hot springs, jiufen if possible?)

Thanks again.

OMG! Don't you read earlier posts?
Someone just posted regarding recommended driver & you are asking the same question again :-(
The least you could do is read earlier posts by others before asking!
