Sorry to hear that is happening to ur bb. I am not sure if my advice may help but I hope it helps u find a way.

Eczema can occur and recur due to a trigger: Hot weather, sensitivity to product use, food, hormone, even certain fabrics and clothes detergent. My 4mth old gets horrible rashes all over his forehead just by rubbing his head on my chest at night.

Try to stop using products: bath soap, lotions, powders, check cloth detergents n change o reduce. Bathe plain water.

If you are bf, breastmilk actually helps the eczema rashes, do a test after bath and smooth it over his eczema n check if he has a reaction to it o it gets better. If u r bf, avoid dairy, eggs, seafood n other foods u think may trigger n see if he improves.

If formula, u may want to try a diff formula like soy based.

There are a number of factors that may cause eczema to develop. When the skin becomes weakened by the condition environmental triggers may also be another cause of outbreaks in young children.

Some reactions may be caused by washing detergents, chemicals in fibres of clothing, pet hair, dust mites, pollens in the air, chemicals used for cleaning.

There are washing detergents that do not contain added perfumes and softeners. These might be useful to reduce outbreaks.

Regularly vacuuming and wet mopping can help to reduce the incidence of mites and pet hair in the child's environment.

Removing shrubs and plants that are pollen laden from the immediate environment might also be useful.

also try to avoid dairy foods...

Keep the house free of dust will be first step.
Detergent used for adults cannot be used for baby's laundries. Even if want to use, can only use 1/10 max, so cannot mixed together with adults.

my baby girl now almost 2 years old, suffering from eczema last time too
i dont know why the specialist gave medicine to your young baby, i thought medicine is not recommended at all

my pediatric advice,

hypoallergenic formula milk, still consuming until now
- Yes it worked, allergy can cause Eczema

Elomet cream and works great
- Will heal eczema in a day or so, but i read somewhere better not apply it too frequent

bath using Cetaphil, still using until now
- Expensive Dettol i assume, can use as lotion, no need rinse also can

air-conditioner if too hot, my baby dislike hot and have kinda sensitive skin
- Yes, she sleep and feel a lot better, less rashes/etc

Hang in there... kids will eventually outgrow it by 1 yr old or so...

Try not to use oral antibiotic... also avoid any cream with steroid...

As for which cream works.... it depends on your baby.. what works for others might not work for you.. i must have bought 10+ types of creams (and not cheap these cream usualy around 50+ each) and finally settled on Eucerin Acute Care Cream ($60+) which works on her

Use Shea butter le, the 100% pure Shea butter would be the best & especially if it's the unrefined one. Because there's no chemicals or other harmful material added.

Even that Buds Everyday Cream contains Shea butter. But just a little & mixed with all sorta stuffs already.

my son do have flare ups of eczema too especially hot weather or dirty environment. I used salt water to dab on it and use ceradan which does not contain steroid but do heal wounds. Otherwise can try mustela products. Ceradan so far is the best that I have tried but salt water does heal the wound to stop bleeding and kill of germs then maintain with ceradan

It is so hard to accept my son has eczema too. He is a BF baby, so doctor and I believe he has allergy with dust mite. Anyway, I use Aveeno baby wash, lotion and sometime I did soothing bath for him. His skin getting a lot better. I can't believe good product could really improve life ( I was a bit hopeless from the beginning). Anyway, it is one of the best baby ezcema product that distribute by J&J in US. It took me quite sometime to find these products and I am glad I manage to find it. It made by natural ingredients, no chemicals. you can check out pappalala.com if you interest to buy it. I hope it helps other ezcema baby too.

I've been suffering from eczema since I was a kid ( now I am 38 years old ).

Damage to my gut due to use of antibiotics and steroid - based lotions and creams all those years since I was a kid now re - emerged since June 2011.

At that time, started from 30-40% of my skin all the way to almost 80% of my skin.

The worst was, my skin was extremely dry, every time I move my hands, turn my head around, walk etc, the skin around that area will tear open and bled. You can imagine how painful it was to take a bath twice daily.

About 2 years ago I stopped taking all these antibiotics and steroid - based creams and started to research what is the right way to control eczema.

External products I can recommend : Moogoo and Buds ( both adults and children / babies can use these two brands ).

But the internal side of the eczema's sufferer's body must be repaired and rebuilt.

The main area to be repaired and rebuilt is the gut.

Only then the skin will start to gradually repair itself.

Those days, a 270ml worth of Moogoo Scalp Cream ( the heaviest / thickest cream produced by Moogoo ) lasted only 2 weeks for me.

Now, between 4-5 weeks.

For gut health, I am consuming Al - Manna and Tayebat from Natural Prebiotic ( M ) Sdn Bhd.

I will also try homeopathy after Raya, at Dr Suriyakhatun's clinic.

For babies, it is imperative for them to be BF since birth all the way to 2 years old. Soft food when they are 6 months old with BF, semi solid and full solid food also with BF.

Avoid other forms of milk, either soy, cow, goat or those formulas.

Babies tummy cannot process soy / cow / goat's milk until they are at least one years old.

Avoid formula milk at all costs as it has excessive sugar amount ( and sugar is bad for your gut's health, as sugar will feed the bad bacteria in your gut and in turn will take over the good bacteria ).

Mothers who BF is the one who need to look after what they eat, waht they drink and yes, their emotions as well.

The house need to be clean and dust - free ( especially where the baby will be placed ).

Invest in a proper vacuum cleaner with a linen / bedding vacuum head. Vacuum daily. Change bedding minimum once every two - three days. Wash the bed covers / pillow covers with very hot water and let them dry outside, the heat from the sun will help. Buy a proper bed and pillow cover that's anti - dust mite.

When the baby is old enough, do a proper allergy test, if I'm not mistaken, it's based on a IgE allergy test. I can't really remember which hospital though, might be Hospital Pantai, Bangsar.

Foot note : if the child outgrows their ezcema, the probability of their eczema to creep up when they are older is there. I am a living example, for I did outgrow my ezcema when I was in my early teens.

My son Eczema flair up now and then. Been trying various shower gel and lotion. Some work some don't, Buds is ok but Cetaphil is not. Different individual react differently to different product, so have to just try and see.

Your may also try Melaleuca brand who have a whole range of household products (washing detergent, shampoo, etc) which focus on natural ingredient without the harmful chemicals. Quite happy with it. But unfortunately it's not available on the shelves in the mall. U either join as member or buy from another member. Pricing are affordable as purchase are done online, not in the mall or stockist. Can PM me if you need help on this.
