Wanna ask all sifu here about changing flywheel oil seal. My city have oil leak and nearby mechanic told me that flywheel oil seal need to be replaced.

May i know;

1. Whats the impact if i delay the replacement one or two weeks as the mechanic say need 1 working day for replacement? I need car this week. The leakage roughly 1~2 teaspoons over night.

2. What is the market price? They quote me RM500+ including labour and parts.

3. Any different or necessarily to send back to honda SC beside cost? (afraid they cant handle the internal part)

Please advise.

which model you using?

suggest you bring back honda check to confirm if thats the problem onot.

they do a better job and highly trained. price wise, it would be higher abit, but workmanship quality is there.

City 2009. Bring back honda city will take longer time as they need appointment then another 1-2 working days. (Analyst + repair)

Outer oil seal or inner oil seal?

If inner, the labor cost is understandable because they have to remove your gearbox to change. The task is very tedious and difficult.

If outer, simple and fast. I'd changed once, but forgot the price d.

If don't change, it might affect your gearbox transmission and eventually damaged your gearbox.

Not sure which but the from the mechanic description seem like inner seal as they told me need to remove gearbox.

So price around 500-600 consider normal?

Anyone know the root cause for the flywheel oil seal broken? any preventative solution?
