This might be the wrong place to post this, so admin, do remove it if necessary.

I am planning to sale my Canon 6D and also a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 Lens. However, I am unsure if anyone would be willing to purchase a grey import N version (no wireless/GPS) of the canon 6D that comes in a brown box (instead of a retail box). Bought the unit overseas and planning to sale it once I am back in Malaysia. So I would like some advice about this in terms of pricing and/or ease of sale.

The lens itself comes with the standard box.

Both these items are from overseas. Thus, warranty will only be a personal.

Do advice! Thanks!

Grey / Import models shouldn't be with stripped features. Something's really wrong here.

I bought it in the UK. But since the N version is cheaper, I got that instead. That's why I am currently wondering whether it would be "sale-able" or not.

I think I need to phrase my words properly next time. :/
Anyways, there are certain models of the 6D that are made for certain countries where the laws and regulations about wifi and stuff are more strict.
A quick Google search will show you some pages about 6D that are without the Wifi or GPS functionality which are made for certain countries. Like I mentioned above, just wondering if anyone is experienced with these things(grey import) in terms of selling it as a second hand item.

did a quick google and yeap what you said is true. didn't know such thing exist so was shocked to read it.

i think it depends on user actually. for me I don't really care about the GPS (i don't travel much) and for Wifi maybe i'll use it once in a while only. but then be prepared to sell it at a quite a lot lower price since people for sure will bargain with you badly for import set and removed features smile.gif

I doubt anyone's going to buy unless you sell it really low due to warranty and lack of feature.

Demand and supply. Just go for lelong and you will know the true worth. For sure you can't possibly expect same price as local, full featured and warranty unit. Another way is to offer it to camera shop for trade in

Seems like a fair point! Still deciding. The main reason I am selling is because I dont use it much nowadays. But thanks for the advice :-)

Yea, thats why I was asking for help in deciding on whether to sell it or not. I think based on the suggestions here, I might just keep it.

Hmm!! Thanks for your suggestion!! I might do that actually. To get myself a bridge camera or something lighter.

As a set I see it is still worth money. The lens is worth money. Its the Tamron 24-70mm F2.8 VC right? That does have over RM 2K+ in value just the lens alone depending on its condition.

You could sell them separately. Since the body price is questionable. The body sold at cheaper than usual 2nd hand price and the lens at usual 2nd hand value.

Not too sure what you are expecting back. But its not worthless. Especially the lens.

FYI: This year Canon is rumored to be releasing new Full Frame bodies. So if a 6d mk2 or even 5d mk4 comes out it will push prices down.

Yeap! I am more worried about the body honestly since the lens is in almost perfect condition as I take really good care of my items. I think I will decide to just sell it soon when I am done with it. Thanks for your suggestion! biggrin.gif

there is always some proper photographer looking for a bargain workable 2nd body, and your camera fit that profile nicely. Value and Spec. hope fate will let you sell your camera to someone who find need of it.

and try avoid silly lowballer telling you whats is and whats not.
