Guys, just want to take this opportunity to thanks some of the guys here who have helped me along the way when I just started posting in this thread. It's has come a long way for me knowing you guys as strangers to good friends. There were agreement and disagreement, we argue, fight but in the end we are still friends.

Thanks to:
David- for being the teacher he is as always teaching me stuff in a lot of areas
V12 - for his effort on those engine mounts DIY. Seeing him at TT he always gives me that me that very calm looking guy feel..
Ken Lew - who pull me into the grass root scene and knowledge on Campro.
Reapers - for making small decals that made my car a little bit more special.
Dares - for always raping me. I mean my car..Hahahaha
Mahihi - learn a lot from you also on Campro and for the good product

Good story bro! Extra reading and maybe some upgrades to follow suit. biggrin.gif

After further study on Kampro, to understand that the "lag" was done on PURPOSE, to ease off throttle sudden action in order to isolate jerks, and also to protect CVT belt from drastic expand/retraction. Translate it in manual transmission, it protects the clutch disc and cover from being instant engage/disengagement. Having extra grounding cable may restore part of the lag, but deep in my butt hole I know the lag is still there.

On another study together with magician, we also found that the throttle action are similarly linked with speed reading against engine load. Hence, on an uphill climb(engine loading) throttlebody are tend to be more aggressive. Also, the ECU can't function properly if the tachometer is dead. Our latest experience is the dash meter did not attached properly, and we can't start the car at all. Took us half a day troubleshoot on every single component related to the engine, yet can't start the car. On a similar yet different issue, a client keep complaining about the car being extremely jerky and aircondition not cold. We've serviced the aircon thermostat/new gas/clean throttlebody/changed sparkplug/reflashed ECU/flushed the radiator, nothing seems to work. Until we drove the car out, discover the speedometer is not reading. Changed the speed sensor, and plobrem solved. To my surprise, the entire car is a piece of top notch engineering work. Everything seems to link to everything.

After all that findings, I have decided to stop "improving" or modifying my throttle action. 1 can increase the electric current to speed up the butterfly action, but 1 can't ADVANCE the trigger without touching the management system. For example, you put your foot down and slammed on the gas pedal at 0, it took 1 second to TRIGGER the throttlebody, throttlebody took another 2 seconds from 0 angle to 90" opening. By increasing the electric current, you put your foot down and slammed on the gas pedal at 0, it took 1 second to TRIGGER the throttlebody, throttlebody took 0.5 seconds from 0 angle to 90" opening. Besides, according to my vacuum reading, there are no lag(minimal even if there is) on the throttle action. I'd start to worry if the injectors are in line with our throttle actions.
*
An interesting find, means you're saying that the lag is there for a purpose: protecting the engine and transmission too. I find that the lag also benefical while upshift, it sort of prevents the drop in rpm too much, as long you're controlling the throttle well, you're able to minimise rpm drop from throttle control alone.

About the speedometer part, if I want an aggresive throttlebody on straight road, can I adjust accordingly? Can it be manipulated? Just asking. hmm.gif

I'm in no way concerned about throttle response but only wish to inspect the smoothness of the bore, efficiency gains are what I seek to find.
Having a CVT means means power gains are pointless, without forced induction more power would mean higher revs but our engines are purposely detuned by limiting the revs where maximum power is made, due to the CVT having a rev limit.
If forced induction is used then the torque limit of the VT2 would be exceeded with my S4PH, although there's a little bit more headroom there, and S4PE users will likely find that a useful method, providing they limit the revs. Hmm could be a good little market for an aftermarket kit, could even leave the old injectors to limit power.
*
The cvt gearbox itself is pretty much efficient already. Fiddling with an already set up optimally system would sometimes be equal or worse efficiency than stock. Getting better tyres and reducing weight would be better instead to get better fuel consumption.

No ayam fuckin around. Spacer is made to extend the location of totobodi, so to make a bigger buffer room on the intake manifold.

Noob here, once bigger buffer room, so more air intake?

It has me curious as well as a bit dubious. I'm thinking it's possible it may help bottom end at the expense of peak power at the top end, but then my FLX has IAFM+ so I have to think the intake is tweaked to suit the standard setup. Spacing the TB may well have a quite beneficial effect on the earlier non-IAFM intakes due to their known flat spot, but I still find it hard to believe it may help maximum power.

Wait for mahihi next dyno with the tb spacer.

Bos, stroker kit 1.6 reliable kah? Cost of change tahu? icon_idea.gif

shakehead.gif How many times have mentioned bro wankel from OZ. Any universal stuff for us is unobtainium for him, not to mention performance part that is consider rare mineral in Plotong homeland. Besides, OZ only got 1 model, which is S16 with S4PH 1.6 engine, he doesn't need a stroker kit. FYI, he's an ang moh, so yeah nod.gif

Hi guys,

Im planning to upgrade my brakes for my saga flx se. I read in some forums that there are better aftermarket discs and pad for flx, and also a rear disc mod. Im itching to mod my ride with better brakes.

Thought you guys may have some opinion on it.

Thanks.

How old are your current pads?

Just use better pads, rotors and steel braided hose will do. No need waste time to mod the rear. Our car is not heavy so even you race the car with just an ugraded hose you can feel the difference.

If were to upgrade, how much roughly would it cost to upgrade each item? icon_idea.gif
