You have to make sure the name of the file's name is in English.
Not jap/chinese cuz yeah, you can't open it once it's burnt into a DVD.
Experienced this once and will never repeat it again.

it would be easier getting a dvd divX player

dvd divX player is hardware player

now i get what u mean by cant see the subs when its too long
its related to encoded media resolution
is the media in 4:3 ? as most vcd plays 4:3

Yup, but the only prob with those player are overscanning issue.
But somehow I got lucky and managed to find a way into my TV service menu and change it. So, not a problem for me.

It's a standalone DVD player that connects to yr living room's TV.

I'm using the Pioneer DV-383
It's cheap and plays almost everything including Xvid.

You can check the resolution. Usually the raw/fansub video resolution is 640x480 which makes it as 4:3 ratio. But certain video will use other kind of resolution like 700s x 400s (forgot what actually the resolution is) and that's 16:9 ratio and that's a problem for VCD player.

Certain software for video player may tell what is the ratio for that video.

hmm.. what i mean ... based on what i understand on ur first post in this tread earlier.. I assume sweat.gif that u burn-out to vcd/what ever format to view it at your tv.. so earlier i suggest the other alternative .. to hook up ur pc to ur tv (using a tv out port on ur graphic card-assuming u have have one) .... wink.gif
