NO SHIT. Ronnie lost his 9 years streak. Boo hoo.

better vascularity on ronnie coleman, but loses out when compared to jay cutlet's back and traps. and that fish gill quads of his. JUST LIKE LAST YEAR.

Yeah well, the King ahd too many injuries already. Left tricep tear, you can also see his right lat looked different from his left. Jay deserved to win imo, even though i'm a Ronnie fan. I hope he makes a comeback in 97.
Jay's got a personality of a dead log. How the fuk can he be a good spokesperson for the Olympia? Omg!

lol, jay's right shoulder is bigger than the other.but look at his pecs, they are bigger than ronnie's.

One thing I know Ronnie's voice doesn't go very well with his physique. But he's known to others as shy and friendly type or person.

Well.... there were some people who said Jay was holding a bit of water. One thing bad about Jay's physique is that he lacks the vascularity which Ronnie has. Vascularity is also genetics. Some are more vascular than others. BUT Jay had mroe striations that Ronnie, and Ronnie has a very obcious looking injury on his best bodypart, his back. That brought him down.

There were also people arguing Victor Martinez should have won but he came in third. The thing is, size is a main factor in judging too. Even though Victor looked better, Jay outweighed him by 15-20 pounds and they share the same height.

Yea, I agree size has always been the main factor in judging ever since Ronnie Coleman is in the game. Quite a few contestants who didn't make it to the top 3 have better symmetry, in my opinion.

Finally, I thought no one keeps track of Mr. Olympia. Anyway, I saw it coming. I knew ronnie is going to lose this year olympia and it's not because of his condition. I also knew that dex would placed lower than 3rd. That sux. It's all about politics man. If it's judged base on physic alone, Dex would have won the show. Period.

mister olympia has turned into more of a popularity contest.....
rather watch other sports....frankly.

anyway, i duno why outta the blues i go and check the date of mr.olympia also and on that day itself was the match. GO watch live broadcast, but kenot load. Sialzz

Jay is number two in olympia for three or four time already, finally he is number one.

Will Ronnie retire after this year??? or he will stage a comeback?

Hard to say. Victor Martinez was pretty good too. Sad about Branch Warren. He looked good 10 days out, and his physique was below par on stage.

After 7 1st places, he'll be burning to get it back from Jay.
And Jay will have to prove that he's consistent and capable of keeping his title.

Next year wil be interesting.

Well, people can all hypothesize on conspiracies about Weider not wanting Ronnie to beat Lee Haney's record of 8 or whatever, but i'll say it again, even though I'm a hardcore Ronnie fan, he clearly lost because of very obvious imbalances in his physique, especially his back, which is his best bodypart. You can see the differences in the insertion points of his right and left lats as well as his left tricep tear.

He WAS the best, no one came close to his level of intensity, except maybe Dorian Yates. But his time is almost up. Look at his age. Maybe he'll make one more push at the next Olympia, maybe not. We'll see.

So Ronnie finally lost huh?!! What a suprise, I thought last year, Jay said he's not sure if he'll make come back this year. He's too heartbroken after lost again to ronnie 2nd place last year.
So sad to hear Ronnie lost the titled. I'm a big fan of him! I've been wating and want it to see someone change the history of mr.Olympia. My hope is only ronnie! I want to see Ronnie become the greatest bodybuilder of all time! But now he's lost! There go the king. It's hard to beat the king but finally Jay did!
Anywhere, Cutler did deserve the title. He had been in Ronnie's tail for quite years. 4 times runner-up. He deserve it! Congrats to him! But nevermind to Ronnie. He has been holding the title and tied Haney's record! Just maybe some people's right! Politic is everywhere. Sumore maybe Ronnie's slowing down. He's 42 of coz', and it's hard to become great, when you already are! Unless you become some kind of bulky monster and surpass what actually human being limit! Anywhere, I respect Jay too! He's a nice guy. Jay have a tremendous change on his physique, and Ronnie is injured. For anyone, 8 times consecutive years winning the olympia is already consider great! Because so far, only 2 man got the record. Coleman and Haney. Even Arnold's 7 times record was not in a row. Now, let's see how long can Jay hold on his title. Break the record man!

Yeah, but even though Cutler won this year, people are speculating he won't be able to hold the record long. He just doesn't have the genetics for vascularity and his physique is a little too.... blocky don't you think? However, there're other people saying that Jay hasn;t truly achieved muscle maturity yet like Ronnie, but if he does, possibly at the age of 36 plus (how old is he anyway?), he'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Hard to say. He has got to take a long layoff. For his lat and left tri injury. And GH and roid use has taken a huge toll on his body. We can only speculate.

Yeeah, you right. It's hard to say. Maybe he'll come back, maybe he don't. Or maybe he'll even consider retiring after this? After this coming year? Who knows? Don't forget he is 42. The only man that won the Olympia at 42 is Samir Bannout. Think of ronnie, will he make it at the age 43? Summore he's injured? Dorian yates only won 6 times and couldnt continue after that because of musle injured, and with politics and Jay newly crowned mr Olympia, it'll be hard I guess!

It's all politic I guess. Sure Martinez looks good, he's improved from last year, but so did the other. But Cutler got the advantage, he has been in 2nd runner up to Ronnie since 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005. Both he and Ronnie is considered two greatest bodybuilders in the world at this time. But for me, I go for Ronnie. Plus, he's funny too.

As many of you know I have been working the arnold for years now, even posted pics on my governormills screenname of me and big ron working out together (more like me helping him load plates) at worlds in worthington a couple years back.

I am in no way claiming to be best friends with him at all, but I do keep in contact with him and we have a mutual friend who ronnie is very very very close with.

I won't post the actual emails as there is some personal info on there but between what our mutual friend has said AND through DIRECT emails with ronnie here is a few points......

1. ronnie has much respect for jay, ronnie is a competitor so he was upset, get over it, jay was upset after his losses to. To me and to our mutual friend ronnie has only said GREAT things about jay. This is from an email yesterday....."cut is a champion"

2. ronnie may or may not be back, a few family members of his I know want revenge. We'll see, i'm not gonna act like I know what he is going to do. Like I said I am not family and not real buddy buddy with him. I am not in the know in that dept. My guess is if he can come in injury free and feels good he will try it again

3. ronnie's spirits are high so don't feel sorry for him. he loves bbing and has accomplished so so much. he is happy. whether you are religious or not, he is, and he has God, he is completely at peace and is a very happy guy

4. let me repeat, for all you guys. Ronnie respects all the competitors, especially jay, i have never heard of him directly or through our friend talk down on jay. he is happy for jay. Of course he wishes he would have won, but he is happy.

5. I didn't post the email because of injury info on it. his official statement is there is no injury, take what you will from that.

anyway I talked to our mutual friend today at the gym and he said ronnie is in very high spirits. i just shot him another email so maybe I can post some more news tomorrow.

so congrats to jay, let's have a little more respect on both sides for ronnie and jay. Like ronnie said they are both champions.

There's one thing i might disagree here. I'm VERY SURE Ronnie had thsoe injuries. It was so glaringly obvious in the pics. But you guys gotta remember this, NO SPORTS PROFESSIONAL will openly admit their injuries, not when something big like this is at stake.
Let's just hope he plays smart and takes a short layoff to recover. The way he trains, no one can take that kind of punishment on the body forever.

Olympia is a two man contest between Jay and Ronnie, so Weider couldn't let Jay quit. Ronnie, on the other hand, probably -would - quit after nine, no matter what he says, so this placement extends the real contest at least one more year. Ronnie'll work like never before to take the unprecendented ninth next year, and then retire, but stepping up his routine risks that he'll injure himself beyond repair. OTHERS: The detail on Victor's lower back makes the top two look like flabby old ladies. Dex has it all, except that part of what makes his waist look so good is 'high' lats: No Olympia winner has ever had high lats.

i think Jay cutler is a good MR O, ronnie's reign of Mr O is over IMO...cause there are news physiques in the competition...melvin anthony and dexter jackson..this ppl have better body types then Ronnie or Jay.

The Size competition is almost over..is not the competition of Aesthethics where who looks better..and i think ronnie's come back is going is going to be hard...but just to update u guys..till today, Jay have beaten ronnie coleman 4 times. Yes 4 times...and all are after 2006's MR O...i just cant wait for the days of size is over and more of definition.

As for Ronnie's lost, i think hes not in top shape this year. Hes about 24 hours behind his training to Jay thats why he lost it. But in those pictures post up by darklight is was during the nightshow of MR O. But at the prejudging, ronnie didnt even look half that good. Thats where Ronnie lost to Jay...so what can u say..Ronnie 98%, jay cutler 100% ....the best man wins.

Those fellas are still pushing to mass game mate. They're desperately milking it. I've got inside news from the IFBB from my American friends whom some of them work backstage. It sucks. I know Arnold doesn't agree with the mass game but he doesn't hold much power in IFBB. I prefer the physiques at the Arnold Classic. They go more for aesthetic and posing routines.

Right on! Ronnie may have also played the mass game, but he had way better aesthetics than Jay, but don't get me wrong, i admire Jay's perseverance (Ring of Health + Void Stone).
Now, if Ronnie would get rid of his GH gut, then he's be perfect.

In terms of mass, Jay definitely was bigger. Personally I think high lats only exagerrate the fat gut which in turns make it less appealing, but this is just a personal preference.

You guys maybe wrong, maybe right. But I still go for ronnie...But no matter what we say, it is still the judges to decide who's the winner. So, my conclusion is, both Ronnie and Cutler are champion! In fact, all the mr Olympia contestants is a champion. I have an unbelievable respect for all of them! Go mr Olympia!
